  1. Found this on thier FB page- which seems to be a quick way to get answers. They sound safe Yes, in order for us to label them as gluten free, they must be tested. If any other meals that contain any of the top allergens are made on the same lines, there is a very thorough cleaning and validation process that takes place before the gluten free meals are...
  2. I guess it was Lean Cuisine. Not sure if they are made by the same company, some of them are. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/110740-lean-cuisine/#entry939562
  3. We had something about this a month ago? You might want to use the advanced search function and see if you can find it. I have to run right now. Maybe check on the website for Healthy Choice? There were 4 or 5 flavors.
  4. I am glad you feel better, however, there is no scientific evidence right now for a " gluten sensitivity gene" or that Enterolabs are able to test for it. If you have actual scientific/ reputable studies to show any of this, please share them. However, links to a website to sell dubious lab tests does not count as reliable information. Open Original Shared...
  5. My SIL, who draws blood for a living, said she would do it you live in the KC area! Otherwise, she said to go to a Children's hospital or a larger community hospital to get the blood drawn. She works for a large community hospital and they have to draw blood for babies quite often.
  6. Enlist the kids. There are some things they can certainly do. 5 yr old and up can be very good at floor cleaning. The key is a squirt bottle. Give them a rag, squirt bottle of cleaner and a drying towel. They will sit on the floor and clean away! Small ones are good for a good baseboard dusting. Let them fold towels- just don't be too picky. They...
  7. I'm not an anxious mom, either. I worked for 5 years at a children's hospital- so I see the greater good of the blood draw. When my, now 22 yr old, son needed blood work before a procedure at 10 months, I gave him a sucker( tootsie pop I think). I told him he was going to get something special. He sat on my lap and I gave him the sucker and he was soooo...
  8. Some suggestions, not all may apply - Go to the blood draw clinic at a children's hospital and let someone with a lot of experience do it Have someone other than Mom go into the blood draw room with her ( if you are getting anxious it's not helpful.) If they decide to do an endo, they may be able to draw the blood at that time, while asleep. However...
  9. You should get tested for Celiac before going gluten free. There really isn't a "gluten allergy" You could be allergic to wheat. What do the doctors say when they see your extremely swollen legs? It could be something serious.
  10. It was the link they posted in Feb 2015 on Facebook. I guess you could ask the Celiac org about it? Maybe use the list as a starting point & check the ingredients before purchasing - which we should always do.
  11. Where would you be selling them? You might have to check what health codes would apply. And any labelling laws or requirements of the store selling them?
  12. CeraVE cream. Recommended by 2 different dermatologists to our family. It also comes in lotion that is good, too. Open Original Shared Link The sunscreen has "oat kernel extract" and is most likely fine. But you could avoid those
  13. I'm sorry. I have given you a link to Celiac experts. According to the link, a slightly low IGA means nothing and you should be able to test for Celiac. I am traveling today so it's hard for me to copy and paste- you will need to look at them . Edit. I am bouncing along - in and out of data coverage. College boys keep texting & threatening to eat...
  14. It doesn't look like they did a Celiac test. I gave you a link to a great, reliable site for more info. You could share it with your doctors
  15. Sure. It could be Celiac but you want to get tested for that before you take him off gluten. I am not sure that his total serum IGA is low enough to effect the IGA based Celiac tests, but I would make sure they did the IGG a version, too. "Is an IgA result of 39, where normal is 81-463, considered deficient and could it invalidate anti-IgA tests? Any...
  16. . But if they looked at your eye color genes- they would see that each of you had a brown and a blue gene. They could match up with 1 from each of you. The genetics of eye color is actually more complex than that, but that's the simple explanation.
  17. Trying to I post on phone - For example - I think CF is caused by a recessive gene if I remember right? So having 1 gene for CF and the other corresponding gene for healthy - no CF. Both parents give the child a gene for CF - the kid has CF. Celiac genes work differently. You have 1 or more and they sit quietly and do nothing in 29% of people. In that...
  18. A genetic test wouldn't matter if its recessive or not- it finds what genes you have . I Have never heard that there are any recessive Celiac genes?
  19. Different RRs use different buns. The ones here bought from a local bakery until it went out of business. Not sure what they are using now.
  20. We like to find humor where we can!
  21. Perhaps he was incorrectly diagnosed? Does he have a gene? I have never heard of a genetic mutation for this. It might not be possible....
  22. Did you get the specific genetic tests done? The Celiac panel usually doesn't contain that.
  23. Seriously.... no gluten in dental floss. And you can find unwaxed.....
  24. The 2 kinds in my cabinet don't have coloring. Maybe look at the more expensive brands? edit - I forgot. You are in another country with limited choices, aren't you?
