  1. Can I ask what state or part of the country you live in? Originally, they were only released in a limited area - Oregon? West coast?
  2. I guess, that, it you don't trust a company when they say " gluteny free", you shouldn't eat it. Probably should just stick to one ingredient whole foods you can trust once you wash them off well.
  3. So funny you posted this today! I was just at Natural Grocers and they had them on sale. I love the sweet potato and the multigrain tortilla chips.
  4. Read the prep directions. Usually there is a day of only liquids and the laxative part starts about 5 pm. You don't want someone with diarrhea swimming. That's a real health issue for all the other people who might use the pool.
  5. Maybe you should actually talk to the company? Ask some questions? Looking at the website, it looks like they are very aware of what it means to be gluten-free, but if you don't trust that... You would need to ask them for more specifics. Maybe find some made by a local farmer? That way you can talk to them and they probably don't make anything else...
  6. For me, I continue to take my vitamins and see what my levels are. If they are at the high end, I know I can take less. If they are at the lower end or in the middle, I figure I am doing the right thing by taking them. If I am still low, I know I need to take more or heal more. For some vitamins, not taking them for a week wouldn't really effect the levels...
  7. "Celiac Disease Foundation Chief Executive Officer, Marilyn Geller, will present at the US Food and Drug Administration’s Patient-Focused Drug Development Conference (PFDD) on May 11, 2015 just outside of Washington, D.C. Marilyn accepted the invitation to speak on behalf of celiac patients and their caregivers. In anticipation of this meeting, we are asking t...
  8. How do you know that the the chili powder is run on shared lines with some sort of flour/ gluten?
  9. I agree with Gemini. And caramel candy is not the same thing as a caramel colored artificial coloring.
  10. Adorable!
  11. Stool tests for Celiac are not considered accurate. Open Original Shared Link But anyone can be negative for Celiac now and develop it later.
  12. Crockpot? Teen daughter or hub/ BF cook? Sandwiches and fruit and carrot sticks can be a balance meal.
  13. I am lazy. I buy San J Teryaki
  14. Just make sure it's all cotton! Open Original Shared Link
  15. I agree with everyone else. It's his house. Also, you said he is getting forgetful. Maybe he isn't even doing it on purpose? If you don't feel safe at thier house, invite them to yours. If your mom wants to help with the food - either in prep or cost - she can still do that.
  16. I am not going to worry too much about this. The grains aren't what they want in the paper. They aren't crumbling all over my salad. Perhaps someone could ask how this paper is made before panicking? I don't think this is really a new thing. I have heard that various parts of wheat have been used in paper, paper plates, napkins, etc for a few years now...
  17. Casper - this may be more than a small glutening. You need to see a doctor RIGHT NOW! Call 911 or go to the nearest large hospital Emergency room and tell them what you are thinking inside. At least call the number Cycles gave you or your regular doctor.
  18. Call the company to ask why they think their popcorn is gluten-free?
  19. Some insurance, maybe many, won't pay for a " nutritionist". Usually, it needs to be an actual certified dietician. Might try that? You could appeal, but that could take months.
  20. Congrats! I am sure it took lots and lots of practice! Lol
  21. But, it appears I was speaking of the magical kingdom of Caada. I believe it is a very very long car ride north of Kansas! Lol.
  22. Agreed! Gluten doesn't " hide" or "sneak around". We are talking about the U.S., but Caada, UK, Australia are all similar in that regard. You might find malt or wheat in places you might not expect - soy sauce, licorice, some brand of chocolate ice cream, one brand of enchilada sauce but not another brand, etc - but it is clearly labeled. You just have...
  23. It's not a matter of how sensitive you are - no Celiac expert would recommend you purposefully eat even a tiny amount of gluten - like you get from shared fryers of eating the tops off of a gluten pie, cake, etc. Even if you don't feel it, gluten will stat the immune response and cause damage. "Eating any gluten, no matter how small an amount, can damage...
  24. I guess I don't understand? I thought all the bread, etc in those paintings was gluten free? Lol
