  1. Please tell me you had the Popcorn dessert! Popcorn Caramel Popcorn with Cashews and Pecans. Served with Butter Popcorn Ice Cream $6 Gluten Free
  2. Maybe we should have changed the title to: Ode to Bacon
  3. Some day probably means that they come out with new contacts all the time. I have what was the newest kind as of a year ago. Safigel 1 day. The dry eye contacts are very thin and prone to ripping, so one day disposables helps with that. I will see my eye doc in Feb so, if you want to, you can always PM me & see what kind I get then.
  4. Are you saying you still show signs of villa damage. For a Celiac, that should go away on a gluten-free diet. Did they re- run your Celiac blood panel to see if you are still making antibodies? There is a thing called refractory sprue where you don't heal. It is rare. If the current endo and the blood work are still positive, I would try to tighten...
  5. I think they do ship. They ave an email on their site Open Original Shared Link
  6. Was lookng at the real estate ads in Colorado. Perhaps 2 communes? That way we have somewhere to vacation? I got this thread talking about settlements & communes and who would do the snow plowing. I asked a few (sorry not all) people who participate in the thread if they minded that the topic went astray (as I don't post often in it)...
  7. You know you are responding to people who posted 5 years ago. Most of these people aren't on here any longer nor is this the place to debate the ethics of "Plan B"
  8. Trying to squeeze a fat rabbit out from under the sofa?
  9. The last 2 years, we have hosted my husband's work gathering at our house. After work, drinks, cheese & crackers, & chocolate things. All gluten-free. My hub puts on the invitation something like this: Due to food allergies in our house, please do not bring any food. Something like that. It is quite common for people to bring food to parties...
  10. Ok. I'm back from the eye doctor! Honestly! It was my son who needed to go. My eye doc has several patients with Celiac and some with Sjorgens. She said all her Celiac patients, even the kids, have dry eyes. I have a special contact lens called Safigel (sp?). These are for very dry eyes. You throw them out each day. She also said I should...
  11. Running out the door. I'll get back to you on the eye thing. I have the same issues.
  12. Feed her all the nightshades left in the house and dress her in wool!
  13. You instant message Simon? Does he answer back, dear?
  14. Is that all you ate? Did you make it yourself?
  15. I agree with all of the above. - Foil is your friend if you want to use a cookie sheet or cover your food. - Paper towels, too! - plastic baggies (you can seal your left-overs then put them in the grocery bag and tie the bag closed. - camp pans - worth spending the money on good quality and the bigger size. I think mine cost about $80-90 but...
  16. Not sure why they would say that. This is from Univ of Chicago: Open Original Shared Link How often should follow-up testing occur? New celiacs should receive follow-up testing twice in the first year after their diagnosis. The first appointment should occur three to six months after the diagnosis, and the second should occur after 1 year on a...
  17. that works well for someone who can't have dairy. You can make baked potatoes instead of Au Gratin. They can have the asparagus but not the broccoli with cheese. For Celiacs who need to be sure there isn't a crumb of gluten, it unrealistic to expect them to buy new muffin tins, colanders, cutting boards, mayo, etc. My SIL is coming over. she is extremely...
  18. Did they make the cinnamon this year? So good with apple pie or just cooked apples!
  19. You have the perfect excuse for just doing dessert! Your 35 weeks pregnant! Even with no food issues....you should not be making dinner for all or even leaving your house , where you can rest, for more than and hour or so. Just tell her, you are so exhausted and sick with this pregnancy that having them over for dessert is all you can handle. But you...
  20. You can get duct tape in all sorts of colors and patterns. You could give your toaster a jaunty hot pink racing stripe or a complete leopard spotted coating.
  21. And this is where the shoveling comes in!
  22. Hey Patti! Did you see your govenor on SNL last night! He was great! Open Original Shared Link
  23. Wolfie- give it a good rinse with running water then a good soak. It will be fine. It didn't have the stuff on it for more than a few minutes.
  24. The antibiotics were in shot form. Not as big a hit on the gut that way and I don't have to give her pills for 2 weeks!
