  1. Love Kirkwood and what used to be called Sierra Ski Ranch and North Star. Heavenly has good views but isn't that thrilling. Tahoe sounds like they are about to get dumped. Alta, Brighton, Solitude and Snowbird nin the canyons are all good. Park City is too crowded. Deer Valley was great when the boys were little. They have very good lessons and...
  2. 60 F and lovely. A nice April day.
  3. You will get more answers if you post your questions on the forum.
  4. Click on your name/ pic to get to your profile. That is how Jess got the link. Also in the top right corner you should see your name with a pull down. When you look at your profile, you will see your personal info like address. The rest of us don't see that. Click on anyone's picture or sign out and look at your profile as a " guest" and you can see...
  5. Something to show your doctor as they are more likely to believe other doctors. Open Original Shared Link "In blood tests, are false positives less common than false negatives? Even though blood tests are quite accurate, they are falsely positive 1-3% of the time (i.e., being positive without the person having celiac) and, although less commonly...
  6. We discussed this at dinner. M pointed out that we have always hung the non- breakable kid ornaments at the bottom due to large dog tails so we should be good.
  7. I put this fake green pine garland on my indoor stair rails for Christmas. I have decorated it with some icy looking branches, lights and a few glass Christmas tree ornaments. When I put them up, 3 of the balls always detach from the top cap and fall and break. This year, I laid them out on the dining room table and glued the glass balls to the caps while...
  8. Hub's birthday so I made lasagna and brownies with Carmel bits in them and vanilla ice cream.
  9. Perhaps cabana boys can shovel snow?
  10. :0 We had a neighbor that named her daughter Precious. When her daughter was a teen, she went to court and had it changed to something like Michelle or Karen.
  11. When I first went gluten-free spinach, cooked or otherwise, gave me problems. So maybe the chard? I hate mackerel so I can't be objective about it.
  12. Bo LIngs and Pei Wei do a good job with gluten-free. I have eaten at them many times. Pei Wei is very limited but good (they are part of PF Changs group). MInskys' does a good job, too. The crust is not as great as "real" crust but ir OK. Waldo Pizza is good, too. Caspian Bistro on Metcalf & 91 is Persian food. At night there is almost nothing...
  13. I actually know Randy Brown as our kids were friends. My husband goes to him but I think it would be a little wierd to go to him. I have been told Dr Buser is good, too. I don't have any reason to see a GI right now. My family doc runs my follow-up blood tests and they have been fine. There is no reason for me to have another endo because I don't have...
  14. Sorry but posts like this make me very sad. Kids do notice things like Dad having to take extra naps or not having energy to play. Mine did. I just hope you now can realize the seriousness of this disease and that it affects the family, not just you. This site has easy to read and understand info about Celiac disease for you and your wife to read...
  15. It will take a while (maybe years) for all those years of damage to heal. All the vitamin deficiencies caused by intestines that can't absorb them cause problems,too.. When you start feeling better and go back to eating gluten, it will continue. Not much to say to you if you aren't ready to take your disease seriously. Not a very good example you...
  16. I never follow topics so I just looked. I chose a notification if someone "quotes me". That notifies me if someone responded to me (as long as they quoted me). I'm not sure it would bother me for people to know I was "following" a topic. If someone has already posted in the topic, I would assume they were checking back, if not officially "following...
  17. Most of these are in the frozen section of Whole Foods and other groceries, even Target. Haven't seen them at Walmart but that ccaries by Walmart I like Canyon Bakehouse San Juan 7 grain. Its more of a "whole wheat" style bread. Open Original Shared Link I also like to get Corn Thins or Rice cakes and put cold cuts, cheese, spinach and a smidge of...
  18. was this the recipe you sent me right before Thanksgiving? I almost made it for Thanksgiving!
  19. Some might. The ones around here have the gluten free stuff together and you have to look for it. I have seen the Snyders with the regular pretzels, too.
  20. Doctors are so helpful, aren't they? Celiac is the only disease that a doctor says, " you have it & good luck with that". Can you imagine them saying that to a newly diagnosed diabetic or cancer patient? Anyway, here is a good place to start:
  21. I just knew you would have something to say on this one! My first thought was : Great! Just what we need! Another plant modified into some odd Frankenplant!
  22. We like Rice Chex when our stomachs are upset but need a little something. What about applesauce? Some meds you can take with it. Ask your doc or the company that makes them.
  23. LO! I'm sending the Guiness Book of World records people to you. I believe you have had almost every ailment possible in the last 2 years! Sleep and get well!
  24. I merged this post with this thread so all the info is in one place and people don't have to go back and forth.
  25. Well...if everyone thinks she is just a person who is having a hard time accepting a diagnosis.....I'll go with that. I thought she might be making fun of all of us who try very hard to be gluten-free. I guess I don't understand it. My kids are almost grown but I still want to be involved....go to their Lacrosse games, visit at college, fix them...
