  1. Open Original Shared Link too tired right now to continue, I wonder what Raven's opinion will be.... https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/60270-one-half-of-a-celiac-gene/
  2. Last time I read, those two account for 98+% of celiacs, that leaves a few "unaccounted for". Raven is a biopsy dx celiac, I do believe, and she has neither.....other countries recognize other genes.
  3. no. you can have celiac without DQ8 or 2. and no, you husband contributed one gene to your daughter, he has two, you don't know which the other is.
  4. the timing sounds blood sugar-y to me. tweek the lunch. some of it could be additional healing, and yes, the lack of sleep could have "caught" up with you...
  5. have you tried digestive enzymes?
  6. http://www.us.sandostatin.com/health-care-professional/acromegaly/diagnosis.jsp?usertrack.filter_applied=true&NovaId=4029462092064793718 have you done a glucose tolerance test? and I am not so sure that it is a "cause" but a "marker of".....
  7. D,Bs, and Iron seem common.
  8. vitamin D is low, chol is low normal, sodium is low normal, TSH is high. good luck
  9. unless you have some genetic issue....10 minutes in the sun isn't going to do that. and it is the "natural" means of obtaining Vitamin D
  10. But, you see, that is counter productive....
  11. please get copies of all blood work. if your fastings are creeping up, you are the sort of person that nutritionguy is taking about. they may look excellent, but if they are creeping up, potential fixable issue here. forgot, please take D3 not the D2 that your doc scripted for!
  12. Open Original Shared Link I am thinking that this is a Cyrex test? testing for all those other proteins in wheat.Open Original Shared Link don't know if townsend is peer reviewed...
  13. get a copy of ALL testing, would be curious if they did a complete panel.
  14. if you don't have the gene for methylation, your blood level could be high with analogues. but if you folate is ok, that shouldn't be the issue....
  15. ok, that would be D3, lol. a rough guestemate is 1000 IU per 10 points you want to raise the test. If you carry extra fat you will need even more. twenty minutes in the sun would be plenty, you don't want to get even pink, never mind a tan!
  16. not trying to beat you over the head...the D cap weren't the little green footballs, I hope? you got them OTC, yes? PS: check out the vitamin D council website, don't think I can post url? probably doubling the dose will be nec, if not more.
  17. go in with the tests you want, when they won't do them tell them you want, in writing, why they won't. Also, check the cost, perhaps you could afford the testing yourself. PS with the easy bruising, testing for low C and K should be a "no brainer".
  18. ...or maybe both?
  19. what are you doing for Vit D supplement??? an increase (actually stat. insignificant) of 2 is totally unacceptable ! obviously need to increase supplementation and/or change supplement. if you are taking D2 change that to D3. good luck.
  20. Vitamin D should be over 50, b12 over 500 (that one is close) ferritin I am not sure.. and magnesium should be in upper range of normal , ie closer to 2.5. good luck and if the little red dots are petechial, perhaps some K2?
  21. Open Original Shared Link and check out anything else by Dr hadjivassliou. good luck
  22. sounds like a seizure to me. see doc, very soon!
  23. ethically, if not legally, your doc is guilty of malpractice for not meeting the "standard of care."
  24. elevated B12 is RARELY of concern. elevated iron? hemochromatosis? have you been checked for the gene that prevents proper methylation of B vits? that may cause an elevated test....good luck
  25. such empathy from a 10 year old MALE is a pleasant surprise! Please encourage as much as possible!
