  1. A long day here, and rain is on the way overnight has arrived. Curtains and a doorbell? So if you girls have The Vagina Monologues, what is there for us pholks with Y chromosomes? Perhaps one of us suitably equipped should pen something and call it The Penis Soliloquies? To pee, or not to pee, that is the question. Elisabeth Hasselbeck is on...
  2. Um, no I don't think I have had that experience. :) I have been in touch with Amanda, and she has just been overwhelmed with work and other suff this past week. She has not time, and can't seem to phind her psilly, but wants me to pass along her hello to you. And Bunnie's back, too.
  3. Well, I just came by to say how pleasant it is here today. I'm out on the deck wif two kitties enjoying the weather. Conversation here seems to be a bit hairy today. The full moon isn't for a couple of days yet.
  4. I'm not familiar with the brand in question, but cheese is rarely a problem. If there is no ingredients list, then the product is just 100% cheese and is gluten-free. If you can post the specifics from the label, one of us can help you.
  5. At 42 days, it will be the longest reign post-Richard. We sillies must be slacking off in our posting.
  6. We do have alfalfa hay in three- and six-pound bales.
  7. It is a lovely day here in Toronto. The sun is shining brightly upon us. I don't usually work on Mondays, but here I am at the shop. No llamas in sight.
  8. Duplicate topics violate rule #3: Do not spam the boards (i.e., post the same thing in multiple topics or areas of the board to bring more attention to your post), or bump posts up to bring more attention to them (Wikipedia definition of "bumping": Someone wishing to keep a thread on this first page, or bring an old thread back to it will post a reply...
  9. Amanda hasn't been seen in six days. I hope all is well. More sunshine here in Markham. No more r**n expected until Thursday.
  10. I'm sure that I if ran outside in my all-together more than just coyotes would be scared away.
  11. A beautiful morning in town. No excitement here last night. Well, J saw a blue jay in the yard again. Might just be the same one coming back, tho.
  12. I'm not sure what you are asking. You have a picture as your avatar. Is is you?
  13. Have you tried Imodium? Many of us consider it a life-saver.
  14. The Enterolab test does not diagnose celiac disease. Persons with celiac disease are sensitive to gluten, and produce autoimmune antibodies when exposed to it. Zero exposure is an unattainable ideal. Wheat is ubiquitous in modern society, and as a result exposure to some small amount is unavoidable in practical terms. Sensitivities vary from person...
  15. I'm not absent, just a bit hard to see. I'm that anonymous member you keep seeing. Long absent and definitely missed are Richard, Sarah and Alex. Good to see Laura. Today was the start of the big project, if my brain is still working. You must be busy.
  16. Hi, Peggy, I am in the opposite corner of town from Long Branch. I am in Unionville (Markham) NE of Toronto proper. I am a celiac, and my wife and I eat gluten-free. We do most of our shopping at Open Original Shared Link, but frequently shop at Loblaw's or Loblaw Great Food because they have a good selection of gluten-free items. Selection at Loblaw...
  17. We had a visitor in the back yard this morning--a blue jay. It is the first one we have seen in a long time, since West Nile pretty much wiped them out in these parts a few years ago.
  18. Well, it was a pretty good evening indoors. Twas pouring rain in Toronto all evening, and it is still coming down. For those of you wanting pictures, I have only one. Here is Rob autographing our copy of WAKE. No problem with heat, but occasional cold moments when the doors to the smoking area outdoor patio opened. Did I mention that it was pouring and windy...
  19. The Toronto party starts in about an hour, so we'll be leaving in a few minutes.
  20. I don't know if you can see them. Rob posted a link to his friend's album Open Original Shared Link I also put a link in my profile on FB--you may be able to find them that way. I think the ones you might be in were quite early on, so no sweat. Royal blue sumfin, and the Ripper in a reddish shirt? Look into the crowd in pics 1 through 3. ...
  21. Just a quick fly-by. Rob has a link to some pictures from last night on Facebook, so Jack could have a peek if he wants. I think I see Em and Jack in three of them. Nikki, what an annoyance.
  22. This is one of those seemingly simple questions that does not have a simple answer. The reason is that ppm is not the real issue. You must consider the total amount of gluten consumed over the course of time, say, a single day. If I eat four slices of bread which are 5 ppm that is the same as one slice of bread that is 20 ppm.
  23. Have a wonderful evening! The Ottawa event is extra special for Rob cuz it's his birthday today and he is celebrating in Ottawa, the city where it happened 49 years ago.
  24. Managing both diabetes and celiac disease presents a few challenges beyond dealing with just one, but for the most part the diets mesh well. Rule #1: When there is a conflict between the two diets, the celiac gluten-free diet must take precedence over the diabetic diet, every time. A diabetic can cheat occasionally. A celiac simply can't. Being a celiac...
