    It is generally accepted that distillation removes any gluten from the final product, whether it be alcohol or vinegar.     Gluten is used as a glue or binder in solids and in viscous liquids such as gravies. Nothing that is administered IV or by any other form of injection is a worry with regards to gluten.     You may have them. It is not an official accreditation, but rather an abbreviation for "Lyme Literate Medical Doctor." It refers to an accredited Medical Doctor who views Lyme Disease outside the parameters accepted by many of their colleagues in the medical profession. The term is usually used by patients with Lyme disease.

    The added presence of sulphur dioxide does not in any way change the gluten-free status. If, like me, you accept that glucose syrup is so highly processed that only the sugar and none of the protein remains, then there are no worries.

    Yes, indeed. As I read what little factual information is contained in the message, I get the understanding that citrus fruit is safe. In fact, I believe that all produce is inherently safe. You have your interpretation; I have mine. They are different. Everyone must make a personal decision. I know what mine is.

    There is a genetic component, which is hereditary. However, not everybody with the genetic predisposition will develop the disease. The disease needs to be triggered, and this portion is not as well understood. The vast majority of with the genes never develop the disease itself.

    The autoimmune nature of celiac disease means the the immune system is acting outside expected patterns. I would not necessarily say that it indicates a weakened immune system. You might argue that it indicates an over-active immune system.

    Maybe you did, but it isn't true. If it was, we would be able to drink beer, wouldn't we? I do recall a post that claimed that gluten was soluble in alcohol, but that isn't relevant, even if true.

    We just think that they are really cool. Light rain at the moment, but for a while it was just throwing it down. Light rain is expected to continue into the early evening. Using a cat instead of an iron has merit. It takes less effort, and in my line of work if you have cat fur on your clothes it is not really out of place.

    No. Celiac disease can not be diagnosed by a colonoscopy. Damage caused by celiac disease is to the small intestine, not the colon. An endoscopy is used to check for celiac damage to the villi. It is common, though, to do both procedures at the same time.

    They don't seem to cause me much of a problem. Perhaps it is because I am using lispro (Humalog) which has a different action pattern than regular insulin.
