ARCHIVED The Funny Pages - Tickle Me Elbow - The Original

Sarah, it is good to see you here again. Mayberry MUST be represented in Sillyville. Apparently, I am the elder in Sillyville, at the ripe age of 53. Gawd, some of the sillies are young enough that I could be their father. Go figure. Tomorrow is Wednesday. For those of you that remember, it means another delivery to the store. Last week was a... -

Yep, in either upper or lower case, but it has to be zed. Control-zee will just not be the same! Gee, and I thought maybe you knew something the rest of us didn't. Gosh, I missed the coronation, and had several pages to read. At the moment Tom became our ruler (again), I was discussing phinances and taxes with our accountant. Ah,... -

With all the talk about Scouting, I decided to put up a new avatar. I have uploaded a new image which reflects my own insignia. Do your best! -

I believe you are referring to Webelos. I think they still exist, as a part of BSA's Cub program. But I'm hardly an expert on BSA practices. -

Baden-Powell used Kipling's characters (with Kipling's support) as an integral part of the original Wolf Cub program. The dedication in B-P's The Wolf Cub's Handbook (1938 edition) reads, in part: To Rudyard Kipling, who has done so much to put the right spirit into our rising manhood, I am very grateful for the permission to quote as my text his inimitable... -

Glutino will ship anywhere in Canada or the US. Canadian shipments come directly from their suburban Montreal location. -

I was indeed known as Baloo during my last term as a Cub Leader, which was in 1977-78. As noted above, it has been a looong time. When I was last involved, it was permissible provided no dripping took place. Rules change over time. I was involved in other aspects until early 2000, when I stepped down from my last active position due mainly to health... -

Well, during my years as a volunteer I did just about everything. But, it has been a very long time since I had any hands-on involvement with Cubs. Streamlining doesn't make any difference to speed. Add weight, but don't exceed the limit which will be in the rally rules. Add the weight a bit ahead of centre, and low. Sticking weights on the underside is... -
ARCHIVED Cross-contamination How Careful Are You ?
psawyer replied to irish daveyboy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I can only speak to the situation in Canada and in the US. In both countries, labeling is only required by law for ingredients that are intentionally included in the food. Labels regarding shared equipment, or shared facilities, or other possible contamination are strictly voluntary at this time. -
I'm very happy with the hamburger buns from Glutino. Like most specialty products, they are somewhat expensive. But they are great. Slice them in half (doh!) and then toast them with the inner sides facing the heat source (cut side up in the oven, cut side down on the BBQ).

It is indeed. Most of the people who participated in this discussion in 2004 are no longer active participants here (the exception is Richard [lovegrov]). Also, ingredient and gluten-free status from 2004 may not be accurate today. Use this information with caution. -

It has been a long time since anyone called me Pierre, although that is a name I went by at one time. Today, most people know me as Peter, but some know me as Pete. I have also been known, when I was much younger, as Doug (my middle name is Douglas). Jacquie has always called me Peter, although she is well aware of my being known as Pete at the last... -

No worries of something like that happening here any time soon. The lawn is buried under a foot (or so) of snow. If that isn't enough, we are expecting another 4 inches on Tuesday. Tis heinous, n'est-ce pas? -

True, indeed. But as I was 31 when diagnosed as a type one diabetic, I had plenty of opportunity to try various ciders and decide that I didn't like most of them. There was one (Woodpecker?) that was passable. -

Janet, I find most cider to be too sweet for my palate. I'd much rather have a dry white wine. -

Hmm, no we don't currently sell penis slings in the store. So, the dogs are trained to let it rip while running. Fine, I suppose, for the lead dog. But what does this mean for the next dog behind? We don't have many sled dogs come calling as customers here in Toronto. Mind you, with the current condition of the sidewalks near our store, it could... -

Good morning, sillies. Michelle finished fourth, 46 minutes behind David Dalton and almost 2 hours ahead of Brent Sass. She crossed the finish line at 11:30 Yukon Time, which is 2:30 here, so I slept through it. Open Original Shared Link Well done! -

I know who she drools over, but I'm not telling. As to the race, the first two teams finished just after midnight Yukon time today. Yukon is on Pacific time, three hours behind the east coast, and the same time as California. The final stretch is 100 miles from Braeburn Lodge to Whitehorse. The route is overland and away from the highway, mostly... -
