ARCHIVED Flourless Chocolate Cake
Kenster61 replied to Kenster61's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Thanks for the tip. It did taste more like sweetened tapioca which was good but it just didn't rise like I thought it should. Next time I'll seperate the eggs and see how that works. -
I saw a great recipe on Good Morning America that was Gluten Free. On the show the cook Emeril, did not seperate the egg yokes and whites. I beat those eggs black and blue and it never changed in consistency. what did I do wrong

Hi guys, I saw this add about Expandex in the recent Living Without mag and was wondering how it has worked for folks? It looks like it should make things even more like it's wheat equivalent.

ARCHIVED Autoimmune Disease. Seizures W/ Celiac
Kenster61 replied to Ms. Skinny Chic's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Ellora, We all know to some extent what you must be experiencing. I can just say hang in there and keep looking for answers. I believe I'm going to take my questions to the Celiac Desease research clinic in Baltimore. Maybe there is a place in your country that specializes in finding the connections your looking for through their research. Ken -
ARCHIVED Autoimmune Disease. Seizures W/ Celiac
Kenster61 replied to Ms. Skinny Chic's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I have also been diagnosed with having non epileptic seizures. I am glad there are others that have the same condition and that it is connected with celiac disease. I would be interested to know if there are others out there who have been diagnosed with PNES (psychogenic non epileptic seizures) and would be willing to share their expereince. ken -

Kenster61 replied to jparsick84's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I've been reading all your posts today and I feel your frustration. I was diagnosed in 2004 with Celiac and Dermititus Herpetiformis. I've been good with the Gluten Free diet and can tell when there has been cross contamination issues. When I started the diet I was just the weight for my hight 175 pds to my 5'11 body 36 inch waist. After I found the foods... -

Kenster61 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi Gang. I was taking a look at Benefiber the other day and it said Gluten Free on the label. A couple of days went by after using it and I began to feel bloated. Another ingredient is "Wheat destrin". Now how in the blue blazes can it be gluten free if it has wheat dextrin. Any takers on this Ken Ritter -

Hello, I haven't been on for a while due to a debilitating illness that the Dr.s haven't been able to come up with a definitive diagnoses. I have been having seizure for the past two years. ARCHIVED It's My Birthday I Want Cake! Lol
Kenster61 replied to sickchick's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Hi, My birthday was on the 13th but I was too exhausted to make anything. Yesterday I found a recipe I will be attached to for loooong time. The Company is called 123 Gluten Free because all the mixes have only three steps to them. I made a yellow cake that I finally had to tell my family to hide because it was so good. If you can get it I would try... -
I am so glad to even hear you speak of the relationship between Nuerology and celiac disease. I have been having unexplained seizures for the past year and a half. They tell me they are Psychogenic Seizure having to do with something I haven't dealt with in the past and because they have not made any blipps on the EEG tests. But I know I am not that screwed...

Kenster61 replied to mamatide's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I have a bread machine and got all the flours I needed. I got the garfava online. It WAS good but I think something happened because the bread didn't rise as high as I thought. I have a two loaf bread pan. Should I adapt this recipe and add more flour and liquid? As I've read the post it could have been my choice of gluten free flour which was Betty Hagmans... -
