ARCHIVED Does Anyone Know What Ppm Udi's Products Tests At?
GlutenFreeManna replied to shayre's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Food For Life uses barely water in their products as well. I got very sick from their "gluten-free" brown rice tortillas. I have never had the Udi's muffins or granola (I'm sensitive to Oats so I wouldn't try it). -

So I should just have you over and my in-laws will never speak to me again! Okay so the moving truck gets here at 9 AM. You show up with the wodka around 10, ok? -
ARCHIVED How Much Gluten Do I Need To Be Eating For The Blood Test?
GlutenFreeManna replied to Notso's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Okay this may be where the 20-30% number came from: https://www.celiac.com/articles/57/1/Interpretation-of-Celiac-Disease-Blood-Test-Results/Page1.html From that article: "Both IgA and IgG anti-gliadin antibodies (AGA) are detected in sera of patients with gluten sensitive enteropathy (celiac disease). IgG anti-gliadin antibodies are more sensitive... -

The 30% number is the often repeated number here. I'm sorry I can't remember where I first read it. I may be wrong and it may be that 30% of gluten intolerant people test false negative or something like that. I will try to find a reference for you. -

Well, the inlaws are teetotalers so that might make it worse! But at least I would not have to worry about them visiting again anytime soon! -
ARCHIVED Does Anyone Know What Ppm Udi's Products Tests At?
GlutenFreeManna replied to shayre's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I don't know the PPM they test at, but have you considered it might be something else in them that you are reacting to besides gluten? I consider myself super sensitive but I have no trouble with Udi's bread. They are made in a dedicated facility on dedicated equipment. I'm not doubting you have a reaction to them because others here can't eat Udi's. ... -

I'm assertive and it comes off as rudeness to them. Actually, I'm a planner and they are not planners at all. I like to know details of things such as where will we sleep if we visit? Or does that hotel we plan to stay at have a free breakfast buffet? The hotel they stayed at for our wedding did not have free breakfst. They had to PAY for breakfast.... -

They didn't invite themselves, we said they could come. Just not the day BEFORE we moved! I expected them to come the week after. Even though things would still be packed mostly I could handle them being here a week (or even a few days) later because we would have more rooms for them to stay in if they want. I'm going to talk to DH and see if maybe they... -

LOL! Only one of them would FIT on my current kitchen floor! Maybe another one can sleep in the bathtub? Oh and I dare not suggest milk to them...since I started having anaphyalctic reactions to dairy our house has been dairy free. They will NOT be happy when I hand them the coconut milk to put in their coffee. -

I have no pull communicating with them. Not only am I the stupid girl that took their son away but I'm the stupid Yankee girl who stole their Southern boy's heart (never mind that he was 33 when I married him). Unfortunatley they have already requested work off and are driving across 8 states to get here. We said they could come the week AFTER we were... -
ARCHIVED How Much Gluten Do I Need To Be Eating For The Blood Test?
GlutenFreeManna replied to Notso's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Normal people do not get sick from gluten when they go on a gluten-free diet and then add it back in. My husband went gluten-free with me for a month and then went back to eating gluten at work and restaurants without any problems. If you don't show up positive on the tests but still have symptoms when eating gluten you very likely have a gluten intolerance... -

So is this the place to vent about my inlaws? Ugh. We're moving in a few weeks and they want to come visit to "help". This is sure to make my move more stressful. Found out this morning IL's and BIL are all coming the day BEFORE we move and expect to stay with us. Umm...we live in a tiny two BR apartment. Our spare room has been an office, we don't... -

Just wanted to point out for those that are in the US, Campbell's Chicken and Rice is NOT gluten-free here. Poppi is in Canada so she has more options for Campbell's I believe. Tell them you'll be the designated driver on some nights. They'll probably love you for it! You can also get gluten-free beer and other gluten-free mixed drinks some places. Don't let this keep you from socializing. Yeah it stinks you can't chip in now but if they are your real friends they will adjust. -
