  1. Wendy, stress is no doubt exacerbating your symptoms in addition to your severely limited diet. Are you able to take calcium supplements? Are you taking any supplements? Probiotics?
  2. Most definitely. In fact, if you like them, perhaps you and I could make them for the rest of the group while they go man hunting. I'd rather cook. And the bones can go to the dogs only after I've finished with gnawing on them. I'm such a bone gnawer. My husband knows that all his ribs and such come to me before they get tossed.
  3. After we do the beach thing can we go to a culinary school or old library or museum in Europe? Sorry but I am not a beach person. I love the sea but not the beach. Or we could do this - whilst you are obtaining the men, I can cook! I love the reserved, intellectual, bookish and cultural types who are good in the kitchen. Sound ok with you girls?
  4. See? "Thinger" can come in quite handy.
  5. Have you seen her since she lost a lot of weight? She went down from a size 18 to 12 and looks fanastic (she always did in my opinion). BTW, notice my food porn profile photo?
  6. The flavour and texture will be different but I would personally try it. I would still roast them to concentrate their flavour. Hmmmm...when I make this sauce I make enough for one hearty meal for two then freeze the equivalent. So, I would probably use about 6-8 romas, one onion (chunks) and a few cloves of garlic.
  7. I'm so curious to hear your thoughs on this, Sora. It tastes as though it has about 390 layers of depth to it, yet it is simple to make. One of those things that seems as though you've slaved over it all day (and no need to tell anyone you didn't!).
  8. How lovely. Even the spinach which I dearly love!
  9. Then from now on I will be more descriptive of what I am cooking. What looks to be a simple dish in words can sometimes involve lengthy and interesting components. Just wait til you see my plans for tomorrow's dinner!
  10. Believe me, our tomatoes here frankly suck this time of year. However, roma tomatoes are the best to use in winter as they retain more flavour than others. So, I still make the sauce over winter. Roasting the tomatoes really concentrates the flavour and brings out the natural sugars as they begin to caramelize. I would recommend still making them if you...
  11. As we haven't had them for about two weeks, I thought it was about time to begin tormenting you! Here. Let me describe them... Between the slices I will be placing sliced garlic, bay leaves, fresh thyme leaves and season with salt and freshly-ground black pepper. Then I will slowly drizzle wonderfully zippy green olive oil directly from olive trees...
  12. My favourite tomato sauces start from roasting tomatoes, onions and garlic and then just blending all in food processor or blender. I slice the tomatoes in half, place cut side up on the sheet, drizzle with olive oil (don't bother with EVOO), sprinkle with S&P, a touch of sugar and fresh thyme leaves. Then I throw on some garlic cloves and chunks of...
  13. Gnocchi (with rice flour) with Rose Sauce Raw celery
  14. Irish, love your stakeout photo! Pretty slick. For dinner I am making: Sole Piccata with Roasted Grapes Hasselback Potatoes with Bay Maple Bourbon Glazed Roasted Carrots and Radishes
  15. So true. So, since I'm really hurting, I need to laugh more at this moment. My husband is downstairs and once he comes up I know he'll make me laugh. He is so very good at it. But until then, do or say something funny. Go on! Not wanting to take Tylenol #4 with codeine.
  16. Yes! Exactly. Aggressive. Again, I could have summed it up in one word. Ah, well...
  17. Thanks. It is so true that mannerisms, tone and even personality at times do not get across as you would like. And usually in the evenings I am in so much pain that my synapses have shorted out.
  18. Me, too. I am extremely passionate about what I like as well as adamantly passionate about what I do not like at times, too!
  19. Sorry - I worded my thoughts incorrectly. The others I am on can become heated because they are so intensely passionate about food ingredients and such ilk. Passionate to the point of anger. This is calmer, less intense and more relaxed (generally speaking). Believe me, I am passionate about fun! And food, too. It is great to be passionate in what...
  20. Cute about the "bridge" group. I should refer to this thread as "bridge" when talking about it to my husband so I don't have to say ten other words. Lazy? A resounding yes. This is the first forum I have joined that is really and truly fun. The other few forums I participate on are about travel and food and quite serious and passionate.
  21. Since joining this forum I feel far more verbose than ever before for some strange reason. It really leaves me gobsmacked.
  22. That sounds incredible. I have not made Thai omelettes but you have inspired me to do so. I just told my husband about it and we're going to make some this weekend. Sriracha sauce....mmmmmmmmmm...
