It is. The syrups come from different companies though and Slurpee Canada is finding out for me! -
ARCHIVED 7-11 Slurpees
Coinkey replied to kerrera's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have heard back that the slurpees from Coca-cola are gluten, dairy and soy free. Here is what they sent me: Coca-Cola: Because our flavour formulations are considered a very valuable trade secret, we are unable to discuss the source of the flavours. The caramel colour in our products is derived from corn or cane sugar. It may be... -
ARCHIVED How Do I Know If I've Been Glutened And What Is Causing It?
Coinkey replied to Newbee's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
After a week you probably won't be able to tell the difference. On top of reading labels, you need to ensure that you aren't cooking your food on contaminated crockery, there are also many processed foods that don't have any suspicious ingredients but are notorious for cross contamination because of being made on the same lines as other foods. Stick with... -

Coinkey replied to melikamaui's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I use a wide variety of words depending on the audience and my mood at the time. Here's a nice little list for you: I'm currently reacting really badly to something I ate I ate something that I clearly shouldn't have Glutened Cross-Contaminated CC'd The gluten got me Poisoned with gluten Never again! ARCHIVED 7-11 Slurpees
Coinkey replied to kerrera's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I emailed them yesterday about slurpees and they gave me ingredient lists as I had to ask about gluten, soy and milk. Here is what they sent me: Flavour Syrup Ingredients: Coca-Cola Slurpee: Carbonated Water, Sugar/Glucose-Fructose, Caramel Colour, Phosphoric Acid, Natural Flavour, Caffeine. AMP Freeze Frozen Beverage: Glucose... -
I can't have soy either and from the rest of the comments on here, looks like chocolate remains out until I find a super expensive pure chocolate.

I use Safeway's Old Fashioned Peanut Butter. It's ingredient list is thus: Peanuts. That's it. I am also wondering about lecithin, I have simply been avoiding it to save time, but if some is okay then I might put in some effort as maybe there are some chocolate bars that I can eat again. Man I miss chocolate.

ARCHIVED Not Celiac - Will Gluten Intolerance Cause These Symptoms, Too?
Coinkey replied to JenC's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Short answer: Yes, there is hope. Do the trial! Long answer: I too, did not get positive tests for my symptoms. I saw remarkable improvements by first being an extremely poor student and not being able to buy more food and thus being stuck with what was around the house- rice and potatoes. Astonishingly, I felt a lot better. Then I got paid and ate... -
ARCHIVED Why Would Rice Chex Make My Mouth Burn?
Coinkey replied to kagm's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
A quick internet search brings me to the conclusion that tocopherols can be derived from many different sources- the main ones being soy and wheat. Either your gluten-free cereal isn't truly gluten-free or you have a problem with soy derivatives as well. -
ARCHIVED Accidentally Ate Gluten/wheat But No Reaction?
Coinkey replied to speedy2056's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
If you are still in the testing phase and have still to get a positive (test or reaction), I say enjoy your gluten foods whilst you can! You may find the reaction appears a couple days later. I had suspicious food this weekend (one or two bites then I noticed a strange "flavor" and stopped), I'm still waiting for a reaction but I know my own reactions have... -
I went through similar in the past few weeks, I discovered that I can't have soy or milk as well as gluten. Perhaps you are sensitive to another product like soy, milk, corn etc? I've never done one properly but you might benefit from doing the elimination diet to help you find what is causing the problems. Don't ask me how to do one... There are loads...

ARCHIVED Butter Replacement
Coinkey replied to Coinkey's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
That's what I get for being a little lazy today. I briefly thought about searching for a similar post but couldn't be bothered... and my veg had already been tossed in the pot. Yes, those answered did help. I am wondering now if the Earth Farm? (bad memory....) soy free replacement is available in Canada, the website seemed to be for the US. I used... -
Hi, I am wondering if anyone knows of an alternative to butter that does not contain - gluten, soy or dairy? If it's a lost cause, can you give me ideas on: How to flavor my veggies so they are a little more enticing How to replace butter in recipes appropriately/ get over not being able to eat buttery things Any tips appreciated, even if it is "Suck...

ARCHIVED Soy Allergy- Your Honest Opinions?
Coinkey replied to Coinkey's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
It was an Ensure High-Protein drink. Here is a link to the ingredient information. Open Original Shared Link As far as I can tell, it is indeed gluten free and completely loaded with soy on top of soy. I'm working on ridding my kitchen of soy products. Not much so far has had to go. I'm dreading parting with my Chapman's Icecream. I'm keeping that until... -
ARCHIVED Soy Allergy- Your Honest Opinions?
Coinkey replied to Coinkey's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Having drank that one soy beverage and being sick for a week with previous similar episodes I believe soy is evil and I never want to touch it again. More so than gluten. -
ARCHIVED Soy Allergy- Your Honest Opinions?
Coinkey replied to Coinkey's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I know it's more likely that I have both. But as I have never tested for soy allergy and my gluten tests came back negative I thought MAYBE as many gluten things have soy that it was the soy I was reacting to all along. -
I am just wondering your thoughts on this. I have been running on the assumption that I am gluten intolerant. All my tests were negative a year ago after being gluten free for 2 weeks. My symptoms did improve on a naturally gluten free diet. On some replacement foods my stomach had mild symptoms. When having gluten free deep fried foods I would have severely...

ARCHIVED Stomach Symptoms After I Eat Gluten Free?
Coinkey replied to reenag's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Yes, it is common for symptoms to appear a couple days later. It's what makes it so hard to pin point what is causing the problem when starting out or when you have no idea that gluten can even do that to people. It also makes it difficult to know which food you ate that was CC'd. Pain in the butt! I have no idea how to alleviate the pain but I like... -
ARCHIVED Celiac/gluten Intolerance Plus Type 2 Diabetes?
Coinkey replied to DoubleTroubled's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
The symptoms you have sound all too familiar and common to this board. I'm not diabetes savvy so I too cannot offer any helpful advice but you could be on to something with having both diabetes and celiac (or the celiac caused the type 2). -
