  1. My fiancee is 31, and he has been diagnosed with juxta-osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis. It cropped up in the past year and a half. The doctors say it has progressed as badly as an 80 year old. I have my own suspicions that he has celiac's because of other symptoms he has. He seems to have much better days when he drinks something other than beer and...
  2. It makes complete sense. I've been gluten free for a month. Today, for the first time ever, I did a drop in Burlesque class- it was the final class of the semester and within 30 minutes I was up in front of everyone doing a "chair dance" because everyone had been preparing a dance for the last 3 weeks to present to everyone. that's right, shy and afraid...
  3. I would love to know your recipe (as I'm sure many on here would), please share it with us!
  4. I am definitely more centered since going gluten free. The tensed up monster living inside me relaxed and rejoined me. I feel whole. PMS gone daily headaches gone anxiety gone my hatred of other people and crowded spaces gone my weight going down depression gone over reactions to little things gone rational thought back ability to play pool remarkable...
  5. An easy way to find out if it's gluten related is to go gluten free for a while. I figured out my symptoms were gluten related when I ran out of money (I'm on student loans), which meant I ate all the gluteny products left in my house- leaving me with the potatoes and rice for a week. I felt SO MUCH BETTER after just one week and it finally clicked. I've...
  6. I ran out of potatoes and rice and need to go pick some up so today I've had: a banana a spoonful of nutella a small can of redbull a delicious salad with mixed greens, mushrooms, tomatoes, cheese, cucumber seasoned with salt and pepper. having gone out to get potatoes and rice I'll eat a way better dinner- probably brown rice seasoned with Thai Spice...
  7. Still discovering my reactions to gluten. I've only been free of it for a month. So far: neuro first then GI. FUN.
  8. Thank you all for your responses. The depression slowly lifted over Friday and I was my cheery gluten free self by saturday night. And yes, Ravenwoodglass, today I'm having great fun with GI issues like never before. I'll decide after my finals if I should bother getting tested but until then, I'm staying happily gluten free.
  9. I've been free of gluten for a month. I still haven't gotten on my bike (it's old and crappy) but I've been going to yoga and feeling much more comfortable in my body. However, the last time I went I made it 30 mins into the session and suddenly felt completely drained of energy (I had been in the gym running for 10 minutes before the session). I do know...
  10. I ate there the other day. Asked for a chicken salad with grilled rather than breaded chicken. I explained why and guess what came on top the salad? A great big piece of garlic toast. Good grief!
  11. I have been gluten free for a month now. I have not gone for testing but I have felt so much better since being gluten free. Some of my issues I never knew I existed until they disappeared with the gluten. Yesterday, I made the mistake of ordering chicken wings while out in a bar. I'm assuming the fryer is used frequently for gluteny items. About an hour...
