  1. Hello! I have recently been contacted to participate in a research study on celiac disease at the Beth Israel Hospital. I will attach some of the details that I received in an email. There is no compensation (other than validated parking and gluten-free snacks), and the obvious of helping in the research on celiac disease and spreading awareness! I...
  2. If you want something very casual there is Slice, a pizza place that has gluten-free pizza crust and casein-free soy cheese. The website is www.sliceperfect.com I have never been there...but have heard good things about it. I have heard though that the gluten-free pizza's are expensive and take an extra 40 minutes to make...so that you should call ahead...

    ARCHIVED Oooppss!

If those are your sons in the picture...then there is your motivation! You want to be healthy and happy watching them grow up! Not following a gluten-free diet can lead to so many ailments that are life threatening...even if you do not have blatant symptoms! Does that help? Hang in there and good luck....
  4. Same with me! Now people tell me they were really worried about me being anorexic. Now that I am healthy...everyone is telling me how good I look and how I was way too skinny before.
  5. I am not sure when your b-day dinner is, but enjoy and happy birthday! Let us know how it goes!
  6. I had not realized they have a gluten-free menu..that is great to know!
  7. I believe PF stands for Peter Fleming...
  8. Not sure if you were aware that Flemings is owned by the same company as PF Changs and if you go on their website they have a gluten-free section. Just an FYI..they have yummy steak too!
  9. I have eaten at all three places since diagnosis. Three times at Capital Grille, once at Flemings, and several times at PF Changs. I ate problem free at both Capital and Flemings. I have gotten sick at PF's a few times though. It is just always so busy there, that I think it can cause some complications. At PF's a server usually brings out your food and...
  10. Happy Cinco de Mayo! Hopefully we can find a date in June that works for everyone! In the meantime..have a great weekend and for those of you with Ramapo, enjoy your beer!
  11. My sister and I use to sit on our couch and talk about what our last hoorah meal would be if a meteor was coming and the world was going to end.... And also if the meteor was coming and we could only go to one aisle of the grocery store, what aisle would it be ?(yes we have problems and are obsessed with eating!). At the time I never even thought I would...
  12. I did not really have a "last supper". I was so sick, when my doctor gave me the blood tests...my levels were so high that he told me to start the gluten-free diet right away, that he did not think a week would make a difference with my endoscopy (as he had it scheduled for one week later).. Everything I was eating at that point made me feel awful, so nothing...
  13. I was very drunk and said "to heck with it" and chowed down an entire large bag of Doritos (my favorite junkfood)... Felt horrible for over a week and now no amount of alcohol can inhibit my gluten-free senses!
  14. I can do Friday June 9th!
  15. Ok, you guys are really going to hate me now! I did not want to have to say it, but I have a colonoscopy the morning of the 19th...not that it matters what we say to fellow celiacs when it comes to our health problems! So I won't be in work and won't be able to drive that whole day... Can we do something the following week? From Berneses post, the 1...
  16. I know I said I was flexible...but I actually have plans Thursday and Friday the 11th and 12th.. Honestly, I am usually at home on my brown couch everynight after work! If the 12th works for all of you...hopefully we can do this again... Maybe try to do it once a month!
  17. Are you drinking on the job over there? My schedule is pretty free...not much on the agenda during the week after work... So I am very flexible!
  18. After work is best for me too... I think they have t-shirts with the logo "Gluten-free or Bust!"..perhaps we can purchase those!
  19. There is a Legal Seafood at the Burlington Mall...also an Outback in Burlington... That would be great to meet up for dinner sometime.. Any suggestions??
  20. I work right on the Billerica/Bedford line..maybe we can car pool to pick up that beer! Megan Cambridge, MA
  21. I use Food For Life brown rice tortillas. If you heat them up they are very good... www.foodforlife.com Megan Cambrige, MA
  22. I am not sure how long ago everyone tried the Ian's gluten-free chicken nuggets, but in the last couple of months I noticed that the nuggets were shaped differently and tasted much better. I emailed Ians and they responded that they changed the shape of the nuggets. They now look more like "regular" nuggets you would get at McDonald's or any other fast...
  23. My sister has celiac as well and loves the tortillas...she and I both eat them constantly! We definitely contribute to the on-going success of this product!
  24. I must confess to loving them as well! I buy them by the case too. I sprinkle cheese on a wrap and broil in the oven...comes out so yummy! Megan Cambridge, MA
