  1. My sister puts a little Pillsbury vanilla frosting on top! I have not tried that yet, but sounds very yummy (I am a sugar addict!)
  2. I love the Ians chicken nuggets! Actually, they have recently changed the shape and taste of the gluten-free nuggets. The old ones I thought were good but not great. These new ones taste so much better! When I first opened the package of these "new" nuggets I was worried they were the regular (gluten-full) nuggets and were just packaged incorrectly. So...
  3. I LOVE the Lemon-Vanilla fortitude cookies! I go through a bag every couple of days...very addicting and pretty low in calorie too! I have had the Cinnamon/Orange and the Ginger Spice as well. THose are yummy but I am partial to the Lemon-Vanilla.. The crackers are very much like melba toast...they do not have much flavor but are good if you are looking...
  4. I also know that Jolly Time and Pop Secret microwave popcorns are gluten-free.. but can't find the confirmation emails I received from the companies on these two brands...
  5. The following ConAgra Foods products do not include gluten from wheat, barley, rye or oats as ingredients, either listed specifically on the label nor in spices or flavorings. Orville Redenbacher's Movie Theater Butter Microwave Popcorn 27000 48606 Orville Redenbacher's Pour Over Cinnabon Microwave Popcorn 2ct 27000 48171 Orville Redenbacher...

  7. Got this response today from Dunkin Hines (Pinnacle Foods): Thank you for taking the time to inquire about Pinnacle Foods Corporation and the products we produce which might be gluten-free. We appreciate your interest in our company and our products. At the present time, Vlasic® Pickles, Sauerkraut and Peppers and Log Cabin® Country Kitchen syrup a...
  8. May I ask what brand of cornmeal and corn flour you use? Thanks! Megan, MA
  9. I emailed Smucker (which now owns the Pillsbury Frostings, go on the Pillsbury website and you will see this). A rep from Smucker called me back and left me a message that the company will list any of the major allergens at the end of the ingredient list on all of their products. She said the frosting would clearly state if there is any wheat. However...
  10. I completely understand as well! I am so obsessed with CC and always washing my hands, "re-cleaning" silverware/plates that come out of the dishwasher, etc. I cringe at the sight of gluten crumbs my boyfriend leaves around the apartment...won't eat anything that is not made by myself or prepackaged from a store (obviously products that I know are gluten...
  11. Where in MA are you located? There is a small specialty shop in Stoneham which carries the Food For Life Tortillas...they even order them by the case (12 packages) for you if you ask. They charge you nothing for the shipping and give you 10% off the case.....
  12. Lisa... I do not want to alarm you, but you should not ignore your symptoms and wait to go see a doctor. I frequently have UTI's and now know immediately when I have one. The first time I got one, I ignored the symptoms and three days later had an ambulance at my apartment in the middle of the night because I woke up with stabbing pains in my lower back...
  13. Alicia, May I ask the benefits of the L-glutamine? I am very fatigued all the time and looking for something to give me energy. I have read that a lot of celiacs take this. Also, what brand do you use? Thanks! Megan
  14. Susan, Have you ever been to a PF Changs? There is one in Boston and they have a great gluten-free menu. I eat there all the time and have always had a wonderful experience. The food is great and the waiters are all very well trained about celiac (at least the ones I have had)... Megan
  15. I guess it all depends on the particular restaurant that you go to! I went to a Legal Sea Foods in Massachusetts. After asking the waiter for the "gluten-free menu" he looked right at me and asked "do you want me to bring you a basket of bread with that?". Mind you, I was eating with another girl who is not a celiac, but the fact that he asked me directly...
  16. I use to love using Nailtiques... It really was the only thing that made my very weak nails strong! Unfortately, I called the number on the bottle and was told the protein in the product is indeed wheat protein. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! Perhaps you would want to call again and verify for yourself....but that is what I was told
  17. Mandigirl, Are your intestine's healed yet from your gluten-free diet? Before I was diagnosed with Celiac, I would eat and eat and eat and NEVER get full (which of course makes sense since my body was not digesting any of the food I was consuming). After being on the gluten-free diet for some time, I started to get "full" after eating. I do get on HUGE...
  18. I was actually pretty happy to see the article... I know several of my friends read that magazine and will read about someone else who has celiac and about the dire need for strictness on the gluten-free diet. They will finally see that I am not a crazy woman making all this stuff up!
  19. Wellshire Farms has very yummy turkey bacon. They have a website as well.. wellshirefarms.com. They seem to be a very "allergy" friendly company, as they have an allergen chart on each of their products. Hope this helps! Meg
  20. I too love the Lara Bars. I usually get them at Whole Foods. However, the other day while I was at Trader Joes I saw the Lara Bars for $1.69!! Whole Foods charges $2.49 (or somewhere around that price). I was pleasantly surprised at the price difference! The Cashew Cookie and Chocolate Coconut Lara Bars are delicious! Meg
  21. Hi Michelle! Does the Ginger Wonder Syrup help with upset stomach, gas, etc.? Thanks! Meg
  22. I was actually in the grocery store this week and had the McCormicks taco seasoning packet in my hand wondering of the gluten-free status. I called the 800 number on the packet and the rep assured me that all of the McCormick taco seasonings are gluten-free.
  23. I actually found Bare Escentials at Whole Foods...which also has tons of gluten-free foods... One stop shopping!!
  24. I bought a beautiful celiac necklace that matches that bracelet you mention. Angelic Grooves is a GREAT website for jewerly (with the added benefit of celiac research donations!!). Definitely visit angelicgrooves.com
  25. I understand completely what you are going through. Before I was officially diagnosed with celiac disease I was down to about 99 lbs (although I am only 5 foot 4), from my normal weight of 108lbs. I was borderline anemic and therefore ALWAYS cold, no matter where I was or what I wore. When people would see me bundled in layers of clothing at work, they...
