  1. I feel you, girlie. I know how you feel with regard to the social outing but it does improve. My family thrives on big "food" gatherings and last year, I skipped out on Easter dinner because i didn't want to watch everyone eat the foods I miss so much. It does suck. I do ok with restaurants now because my friends/family know the places i can comfortably...
  2. I've had over 10 years of illness... back and forth to every kind of doctor there is to see if someone could help me. I had no way of linking all of my health issues to "one condition" such as Celiac. ....Finally a diagnosis... I've been gluten free for a year now and today, i feel sad.... Probably because I am in physical pain. Will I ever feel like...
  3. Interesting stories, everyone! Thank you! I did a self test on accident. I was feeling so much better that I decided to wean gluten back into my diet. After a week or so of that ignorant move, my feet were in pain just like they had been years ago! It was crazy! Needless to say I am back on my gluten-free diet since I've been so miserable. My stomach...
  4. I had pancreatitis twice before being diagnosed with gluten sensitivity. I ended up bed ridden in a hospital on a feeding tube! It sucked!
  5. That was so mean of your doctor! Geez! I had joint pain, foot pain, stomach issues, even Pancreatitis, over many years of being misdiagnosed. I had been feeling better lately so I decided to wean gluten back into my diet! Guess what happened?! My feet began to throb in pain and my eyes have been burning a lot. So, that was proof enough for me to know...
  6. I went through several weeks of hell after going gluten free. I had a variety of painful detox symptoms. It was terrible. My whole body ached and my feet would get sharp, shooting pains. All of this calmed down eventually but for many weeks, I dealt with rashes, pain, cysts, you name it.
  7. I actually get burning sensations in my feet and sometimes my stomach too. I cheated and ate some gluten this past week and now I feel miserable. Lots of symptoms. Uhhhh.
  8. I've had foot pain for years, but over the past few years it had progressively gotten worse until I was finally diagnosed by my local doctor with Celiac Disease. Once following the strict gluten free diet, I found it was also helping the mysterious foot pain and slow ankle sprains healing in my feet. Am I the only one to notice/have this?
  9. Wow. I am so glad I found this site and have such great people to talk to about this. I can't thank you all enough. Last night I had baked chicken with parsley, a few bites of potatoes and a lot of green beans and broccoli and I was able to actually sleep a full night for once. I didn't feel mentally "shakey" and crazy like previous nights since following...
  10. "Missy's Mom" - that made me smile. I go by "missy" and My mom - Janice - we always hear people in our family saying ... "... Missy's Mom". Cute.
  11. Thanks guys. Well, because my stomach started off so fragile at first my dietician recommended I stick to white rice and potatoes to ease my digestive track. Umm.. not to question her advice, but white rice made me feel like a yo-yo about 2 hours after eating it. I have switched to brown rice (as of yesterday) but found it wasn't digesting that great ...
  12. I was diagnosed with Celiac on 9 September 2010. I've had Hypoglycemia (as a result of Pancreatitis) about 6 years ago. I'm strictly following the Hypoglycemia/Celiac Diet yet my body is still going crazy. I can't seem to control my blood sugar at all and I dont know why?? My body is up and down, hormonal, and on a psychological rollercoaster these days...
