  1. Anyone's physician at PCMC? If so, who is it?

  2. haha thats part of the reason I bumped this thread admittedly. Recognized your name and figured might be good for reminding old and new members alike. as for sleep, whats that?! last time i slept probably was before I knew I was pregnant. (Lets just say my pregnancy was rough.)
  3. I am gluten intolerant myself, and I went undiagnosed for a long time. (Not for lack of trying either.) Shortly after I got married, I got pregnant, but miscarried, and it gave me hell, and my gluten intolerance also got worse. Until I was diagnosed a year and a half later, I didn't even have regular cycles. Hell, I didn't even HAVE a cycle. We thought...
  4. I use(d) the Walgreen's. Labelled right on the bottle, AND for someone who couldn't keep ANYTHING down while pregnant, they were amazing because you only have to take once a day. They still recommend taking them with food, but it was a lot easier to only take them once. You can also ask your pharmacist about them... They can often tell you.
  5. I'm going to go back in and ask AGAIN if there are ANY modifications to the list, but as of right now, I can only deal with the generic brands, which means no Chex. (I LOVE Chex too! Oh well... I suppose its not the WORST thing in the world to buy them myself...when I go back to work that is and thus have more money to buy my own food). Given I've rarely...
  6. Its been about 2 years since I last was here (and active) so I decided to bump this thread up and reintroduce myself. As you can see in my signature, I've been gluten-free for 2.5 years. I now live in West Valley, which is just south and west of Salt Lake City. I am now married, and I JUST gave birth to a healthy baby boy 11 hours shy of a month ago...
  7. I just had a baby, and am on WIC... they gave me three things to buy that I am not sure on. Cereal, canned beans, and peanut butter. I can get the following brands. Kroger, Market Pantry (Target), Everyday Essentials (Albertson's), Western Family, Great Value (Walmart), Hy-top (WinCo) Anyone know if there are ANY items in any of these brands...
  8. Hello, I was wondering if you have had notice joint pains? From hands, knees, and feet. If so, what did you do? Thanks!

  9. So lately I have been craving all sorts of baked goods that I can't have. Sure I could make a gluten version of nearly all of them, but that's more work for a simple craving. But its not like I can go to the nearest bakery and pick up goodies, because even if they did have some gluten free items, most likely there would be cross contamination, with all...
  10. So I was glutened recently, (had chili I made and froze, forgetting the chilis I put in it were not gluten free, so I rediscovered this), but I was wondering. Is it common to always have to go to the bathroom and/or feel like you are constantly wetting your pants when glutened?
  11. Well, yesterday anyone who was anyone stopped by without a phone call, just to "talk." Okay so it was only three people, my church leader and my two visiting teachers (two women in my ward who have been asked to visit me each month and give a spiritual message. Every woman in my ward has them.). But normally these people call before they stop by. It was...

    ARCHIVED Oh No...

Yeah, so I am trying to survive still, but there are some days that are worse than others. Like today. I'm craving everything that is bad for me. And sure I could in theory make it all, but its not the same. I'm craving good bakery items, ones I don't have to make. Donuts, bagels, breads, cakes, sandwiches, and all that yummyness. Not to mention our...
  13. craving everything I can't have, and the nearest bakery I can eat at is half hour away

  14. No worries girl... just hadn't seen you around for awhile so thought I'd come by & say hello. I hope you are able to get a new computer! I TOTALLY understand computer problems... have been dealing with the same thing here this last week!! TTYL!

  15. I have found that I have had a lot of highs and lows on the gluten-free diet. Granted, I feel a million and one times better still, but it does take a lot of effort and sometimes, I find myself missing the things I once ate, especially when people eat them in front of me. I have been known to go in a bathroom and spend some time crying. A lot of times...
  16. So a few weeks ago, I went to Winger's, a western US restaurant chain, that has gluten free items. This was the second time going there, and the first time we had an excellent experience. The second time, I learned some very valuable lessons. 1. Tell them right as you enter that you are a gluten free diner. 2. Make sure you have a gluten free menu...
  17. hey girl, how are you?? Just thought I'd come by & say hello :)

  18. Around here, snows been minimal of late (though we should be good supposedly in the way of water supply due to the fact we had a good winter at the end of 2010, which I can''t see how. I don't remember getting a whole a lot of precipitation.) But we were supposed to get a crazy windstorm with a little bit of snow and ice yesterday morning that was supposed...
  19. Hmmmm, what I was gonna say is already on the list. My coworker and I have a strange obsession with carrots. I'm pretty sure my two bags of carrots we buy every two weeks are gone by the first week. And the ocean spray craisins are definite hit with me... but I'm not a kid, so who knows if kindergarteners would like that. I personally would go more on...

    ARCHIVED Help Picking A Pcp

So I got new insurance, (HALLELUJAH! BETTER INSURANCE!) and now I get to pick who I want to be my doctor instead of going to the stupid student health center and then being refered to other doctors which means a pain in the butt because my insurance is way too picky. (More so than other insurances, darn student insurance) Anyway, I was going to start with...
  21. I think I may have found the manufacturer. Pliva. ANyone done research on the new fluoxetine manufacturer?
  22. On my prescription bottle, it says in small letters TMB/GLT/GLT. What does that mean? And please tell me GLT does not stand for gluten. Also on the prescription receipt, it says the manufacturer changed. I can't find where it says the manufacturer on it. Help! (This is my fluoxetine btw.)
  23. My doctor just said, keep in touch. I don't need to come in. And she's done most of her stuff on email... (UGH I HATE IT) Nor does she want to do testing for vitamin deficiencies or nuthing. I'm a little upset with that. But I will find a new doctor now that I have better insurance than school insurance. Also another thing on my mind was if you don...
  24. *wakes up* huh what? Oh oops sorry, I got busy at work and then fell asleep how awful of me! Dream time! So to preface my dream, I am the clumsiest person you will ever meet. Even though I did take six years of ballet as a kid. So here goes. I was teaching a theater troupe some sort of dance, and I had some of the students come up and demonstrate...
  25. That is my point exactly. Or any other diagnosis that don't need follow-ups. Though Emilushka, I would like to point out its not only on the doctor end insurance is insane... Patients needing the insurance, for them it can often be insane, especially when insurance won't cover for the good doctors or the procedures you be needing.
