  1. What do you do when you go over to other people's houses, and they have a bunch of gluten-y food that you can't eat? How do you not offend them when you don't eat their food? What if it's something really yummy, but they don't use gluten free substitutes? (Like my hubby requested pizza this weekend... AAAAACK!!!!)
  2. A sandwich... From a bakery called Paradise bakery. It was good, but sickening... Sad to say. I also had gotten sick because someone ate tuna fish around me... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA... Silly law firm getting so much bad stuff to eat for me. Between gluten and tuna, I can never eat here... (Thankfully I bring my own lunches now.... mmmmm cinnamon...
  3. I'm a baker at heart, and I love to make cookies. (I do make other desserts too, but cookies is usually what I make.) But as I said in my intro thread I just recently went gluten free. I want to know what kinds of flour are (in your opinion) best to use. There are so many flours out there that I have never even know existed that are gluten free. I hear...
  4. Oh this is good to know, I don't have DH (though I do have very sensitive skin). I just started the gluten free diet and I was wondering this myself. My husband and I thought that it was kind of strange that I'd have to use gluten free products if I wasn't ingesting them, or putting them in my mouth. But yes I'm curious about these studies too.
  5. yeah I figured that it had gluten in it, I did read that a lot of spices do use gluten for clumping purposes, but I was wondering what makes these seasoned salts bad for fish intolerants/allergies...
  6. When do I reach that certain point? I have noticed that it is relatively quick that posts get approved by a moderater, but it is a bit frustrating when you have something that you want to be seen right when you post it.
  7. So... I went to work one day and we got on the subject of foods. I told my coworker about my decision to go gluten free, and around the same time she learned I was highly intolerant to fish, and knowing this I don't eat seafood either. (Afraid that I might be intolerant to that too, as a lot of times people with fish allergies/intolerances have shellfish...

    ARCHIVED Jason's Deli

Ooh good to know. Before going gluten free, I loved Jason's deli sandwiches, and my work uses them to cater for meetings all the time. I'll have to look up the gluten free menu when I next visit. I've been really nervous about eating out, (especially since my favorite place before going gluten free was arby's... AAAAAAAAAAAH the gluten!) so its good to...
  10. Thanks for posting this question. I've recently discovered a I have a gluten intolerance and right now I'm always feeling hungry when I don't do the above mentioned suggestions. So I thank ye for posting this. As for what else ye can do, I have little to add, just make sure you eat the right amount of protein. I keep forgetting this simple fact, so I...
  11. Wow, that's reflux waitin' to happen my friend. I have reflux meself, and like everyone else has said, their are all sorts of things that could help. First of all, I would be careful when ye eat, and to some degree what ye eat. Like for example, spicy foods are a huge reflux causer. Tomatoes can also affect reflux. And I would venture to say eggs do too....
  12. Howdy ya'll. I thought I would introduce myself. I am Karen. I hail from the Western US, though I did spend a considerable amount of time in the DC area. Born in Idaho. I aint been diagnosed with celiac disease, in fact the blood tests came out with a negative result. But after doin intense research, I discovered that all the foods that make me sickest have...
  13. Every journey starts somewhere. What is it that makes us begin? Perhaps a smile, or great despair? Maybe, it's something you can't pin. Every dream comes from someplace. Why do we imagine within? Is it hope for unending grace? Maybe, it's something you can't pin. Every hope dawns from something. How do we find it in this din? Concern...
