ARCHIVED My Head

All right, so I dont have any noticeable DH (least not as far as I know), or nuthin, but I have always had a problem with products coming in contact with my skin. I always thought I just had super sensitive skin. So for years, I searched for the perfect hypoallergenic sensitive skin formula, for both my hair and body. Never did find a good fit, so I live...
2. Okay so everyone is talkin about Lara bars bein awesome and good. And I want them! I love bar type snacks and such. They are wonderful to have for snacks. But I aint seen em at my whole foods store, where do I get them. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you get them at a normal grocery store? Etc...
3. I found a link. http://www.nutsonline.com/cookingbaking/powders/carob.html This is the pure powder. I was lookin at some carob chips on the same site, but they have soy lecthin or however you spell the infernal word. I will keep lookin fer some without so, but at least this is the pure powder, Nothin added. Yup gotta WF not even a mile away from my...
4. As for pepto bismol, never thought to try it, though I aint big on meds.... I already have to take far too many everyday and thus when sick I dont take anymore...My biggest healin meds are tea and soup.
5. Yea, I aint got celiac disease, but I am definitely intolerant to it... But yea, who woulda thought gluten would find its way into potatoes... (As for the broth I discovered that my broth I keep in storage was gluten free which was somethin I did not expect. I expected I would have to get rid of that too...) And in the way of throwin up, I can count...
6. Dear Chocolate, I am pretty sure I told you to back off in my last letter, and yet you aint done so yet. I went out to dinner tonight, and of course, I had to try the gluten-free dessert there after hearin so much about it. And of course... CHOCOLATE! You were there! Why are you so persistant in tryin to convince me that you are ok? You aint. SO BUG OFF...
7. Yes amen to Lundberg bein safe. Love it! Absolutely delicious. Especially the Apple cinnamon, those are delicious.
8. So some people on this forum suggested I try carob, since I cannot eat chocolate. So today when I went to the Whole Foods store near my apartment for my normal grocery shop, I discovered carob ricemilk. I thought that would be a good way to ease myself into chocolate. And if I did react to it, hopefully it would not be so bad because the ricemilk would...
9. Gluten is everywhere. Why? And of all places to get Glutened... it was at my own house. From potatoes. Sure, they were the instant kind, but I shouldn't have trusted them. They are in fact made in a facility that I know produces wheat. And I'm sure that flour would fly throughout the air in that sort of place. The thing was, the bag had no gluteny ingredients...
10. ...what it feels like to be glutened? I feel exactly the way I did before I started the gluten free diet. Nauseated, in pain, tired, don't want to do anything. I don't want to be here at work, which is something I feel often, but this time its just because I would rather be home in bed, sleeping away the disgusting feelings. Oh and did I mention food...
11. I was lookin at some of your past posts, and I noticed that you don't have a high opinion of Famous Dave's, so I am assuming you wouldn't recommend that. And of the three you mentioned, would you say that PF Changs would be the safest bet for my first night out on the town since goin gluten-free? (PS thanks, you must live fairly close to me because...
12. So my husband's birthday was last weekend, and our families gave him a bunch of money for his birthday for a date night, and we thought maybe we'd try going out to eat. But truth be told, I'm scared to go out to eat since goin' gluten free. So I have been doing research on places in Salt Lake City area where I live. What are your opinions on these restaurants...
13. Yes it is possible to be gluten intolerant and not show any visible results. The problem is most tests are for "allergies" which have a different effect on the body than intolerances. Allergies actually change things in our bodies, whereas intolerances are just that our body just don't like em and spits it right back out in some way or another. Like for...

ARCHIVED Fad Diets

So recently all my facebook statuses have been relating to my progress on the gluten free diet. (Amazing progress by the way.) And my life, sad to say is work. Since I have a number of coworkers on my facebook page, they all see my progress. Yesterday, one of my coworkers said to me, "So on your facebook you mentioned you are doing a gluten free diet...
15. Yeah I swear by Cliique because of other skin sensitivities I have and it is one of the only make-ups that don't make me itch or turn red or whatever. As for the customer service line to call, that's the plan, but I figured I might as well ask about all people's needs in one go. So yeah... Keep the list coming!
16. sure thing Lisa, I can understand what ye mean. Just didnt bother with it, as I dont have to read my own posts again very much. This better?
17. I recently recieved the following as a response to a query about gluten free products from Clinique. Dear Ms. Losee, Thank you for your interest in Clinique. In regards to your inquiry some of our products do contain gluten. We appreciate the opportunity to explain that we do not have a comprehensive list of products that contain or do not contain...
18. I am pretty sure it is the cocoa I am reactin to, considerin the nature of everythin I eat thats chocolate. But I will have to look for the carob and try that... Although I think I am to some degree lactose intolerant...
19. Yeah chocolate is not friendly... Reflux.... grr... But beyond it giving me reflux, I think I may actually be plain old intolerant to it. Reflux meds do help too much. Though they do help a bit. (We tested this theory when my OBGYN figured out a few years back that I have acid reflux. When I did go on meds for it, I did feel better. But I am on meds for it...
20. K. That boy is a miracle! Does he watch chick flicks with you too? *chuckle* I love my husband. He's like your fiance. I recently went through my house and dumped everything that was filled with gluten (including my nailpolish which my hubby was shocked had gluten in it.) into a box. We're going to give it all to one of my neighbors in need. But as I was...
21. So yesterday was my first time having chocolate in months. I made chocolate cookies that were gluten free. It was absolutely delicious, but sure enough, my body didn't like the chocolate. I hate that I can't eat chocolate. Its everywhere and in everything I like to bake. But yesterday, I just HAD to try it. I was miserable after, and I am miserable now...
22. Dear Chocolate, I know I shouldn't have you in my life. But you are everywhere. And you taste so good. You are the main ingredient in my favorite cookies to make. I love licking the batter in which you are omnipresent off of my fingers. I love eating the baked cookies of which you are in throughout. I want to attack the candy dish at work and just grab all...
23. maybe I will do that, or I will still my mom's recipe and make it safe to eat. I am awesome with experimenting so I am sure I could come up with a good alternative. Did that very thing with my cookies today....
24. Update... Ive not had cookies taste so good in my life before!!!!!!!!!!!! I love these cookies I made!!!!!!!!! Gluten free cookies = delicious!
25. "Oh here lemme give you a medicine to force your period to come." At this point, she was telling me this over the phone without having seen me. And the medicine could be very hazardous to an unborn child. So I went and of my own accord to have a blood test done to verify before I took the meds. A few months before, "I never even suspected it was a possibility...
