  1. I told my doctor recently about going gluten free, so I assume she would not prescribe something with gluten in it. Right? So is Klonoprin safe? She's prescribing it as needed for my anxiety attacks. I'll be taking it with fluoxetine (prilosec generic).
  2. Well, I told my doctor about going gluten free and how good it makes me feel. She didn't say much, but she did essentially that I am gluten intolerant. Well, great. I'm official. Gluten intolerant. Strange, it sounds so weird to say I am officially diagnosed as gluten intolerant. I have an official diagnosis of fish intolerance too. Well, that's it...
  3. Well, I just heard back from my doctor. She is really nice. She offered me advice on even how to drop out of my class. And from the sound of things, I think she thinks it is an excellent idea. She also told me to up my anxiety medicine. Well good. That makes me feel better. Maybe I will be finally feeling normal. She also suggested that I start taking...
  4. Another thing you can do is set up an email for solely people from this site, (or any other site you join) and that can be listed for people to send you things. This is what I do for this and another forum I am a part of. But personally, I like Private Messaging people, quick and easy, and I can do it while I am signed on and I don't have to look at two...
  5. This is my first gluten-free holiday season too. And I am extremely worried about it. What we normally do is split the difference between our parents houses, dinner at my parents dessert at his or vice versa. I normally don't eat the desserts anyway because I am too full, so that part won't be so much a problem I worry about eating the dinner portion....
  6. So new question, I am invited to a college reunion on friday. (A reunion of my freshman group of friends really) I made gluten free cookies today, and I am rather fond of them (or the dough at least... I haven't cooked them yet but hey). Do "normal" people like them? Or should I just hoard them for myself? (I am tempted to do that anyway, but the way...
  7. Well I just discovered yet another plant I am allergic to. And unfortunately it is omnipresent in my office. AAAAAAAAAAACK. So our plant lady stopped by with a couple more plants, and she had come here to the reception desk at which I am currently sitting. Of course she trims the plants here and everything then uses my trash can to dispose of the trimmings...
  8. So I made cookies this morning, well the "dough" at least. It was my first venture in baking. The dough is excellent. Haven't cooked the cookies yet, so I will have to let you know how it turns out. But I am excited, and I can't wait to get home and bake them. So yeah, I just had to share my baking experience with you. Especially since I had so much...
  9. Paul~ You got some points. Although, I cant imagine it bein too much a hindrance for members, as it is only ten posts that have to be moderated. And look you are almost there. Besides I think its a good idea in a lot of ways because then you dont need to worry about makin a fool of yourself if you make a spammy post, or break a rule or two, and the admins...
  10. It aint jus teenagers neither. I have one coworker who always is late and takes a two hour lunch when he already has an extended lunch break. And he never calls to let you know he is runnin late. Drives me crazy. I got another coworker who you have to explain everythin in thorough detail, includin things like why you take off stickies to copy somethin...

mmmmm sounds like an excellent idea... *grin* Oh how I love pizza...
  12. Yeah I have a problem planning too. Like I still havent thought about what I am gonna make for dinner tonight, and I'm heading home in 15 minutes. Oops. Probably another night with chicken, but I don't know. Don't really feel like cooking, it's been a long day at work. And good luck with your body healing. I bet you'll be all right in a few days....
  13. Oh dear. This reminds me of day 3 of being gluten free when my mom tried to convince me pie was okay. My families are supportive of me in this diet, but yeah people certainly need to be educated about what celiac disease/ gluten intolerance is. It sounds to me like your great-aunt is doing a "gluten-free" diet as if doing the fad diet, if that. But not...
  14. I just had to post this somewhere, because when I was in an anxious mood, it made me laugh. And if something can make me laugh when my anxiety is as bad as it was when I read this, then it must be good. Strangely it's one of the few good emails I got from my Grandfather who forwards EVERYTHING he ever gets in his inbox. Though, I gotta admit, for a 91...
  15. I am feeling an insane need to destress. Not that I am doing as much as many of the people here, but with my severe anxiety, no relation to my gluten intolerance, I feel completely stressed out. I work at least thirty hours a week, more often than not more than that. For which I am recieving no benefits because I am hired supposedly as a part time employee...
  16. Holy snapple. You ain't kiddin when you say picky! I ain't been that picky since I was eight. Wow. But no worries, I think you'll be fine, and just have fun experimenting with your crock pot. There are a million and one things to make in your crockpot. As for being dairy free since yesterday, YAY!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you continue to feel better! ...
  17. Tiny grenades? Oooh please? Can I? *grin* Okay maybe that's a bad idea... *chuckle* ooh Dal sounds so good. Wanna donate a recipe? *grin* But yeah, I'm actually beginning to have fun with the gluten free diet, (especially now that I feel better. Its definitely a big help in my system) and I can't wait to make some fun dishes. Like the other night...
  18. Yeah watching people is hard, no matter what age. I look at people now, and I want to scream, "Don't eat that in front of me. Just looking at it makes me sick." I have this problem of looking at something and saying to myself, "Ewww all that gluten! Get it away." As for going to people's houses, and other places, this is actually a question I myself...
  19. darkblue~ I can only imagine what you are goin through. Bein 14 and gluten free is hard. My challenge when I was your age (only a few years ago for me, so try not to think of me as "old" when I say "when I was your age") was chocolate. Everyone would be eatin chocolate around me, and I'd so badly want it. But I could not eat chocolate without being sick....
  20. NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *grin* I suppose that means you love ID as much as I do? (Im assumin since you say youve lived in ID for 11 years) We're probably gonna move up to Pocatello or IF in a couple years, because its what I call home, and my hubby is eager to please me. Plus he has a leg up for a job in Idaho once he graduates. My last foster family is...
  21. bparravicino (hope I got that right)~ Yes, so far I love this site and the people on it. People here have been so helpful and have great advice and wonderful stories to tell. I can't wait to get to know more of them better. Emilushka~ I am lucky, but I did offer a couple suggestions in your thread in the other non celiac/gluten free diet forum about your...
  22. On the subject of what to make for dinner, I think you need to first find some foods that both you and your fiance will eat. You can make a gluten free version of almost anything. That seems to me to be the biggest problem now. It would be easier on you to cook for both of you, than havin to make two separate meals, and him eatin what you eat will also help...
  23. I love it! Not that I drink even an ounce, and thus would not even know what wine would be good. (Or that any of my family and most of my friends drink...) Thus this wouldnt work. But love it all the same. Yeah anyway, my family (includin my inlaws) is very kind and understandin and they really try to be helpful. (And my dear hubby even went out of his...
  24. Not sure about sorghum but I know that unless I am takin my omeprazole (and sometimes not even then) I cant eat things with chocolate. Chocolate has a big effect on people with reflux/heartburn... As for the flour suggestions, sounds good I'll have to try 'em. Currently in my posession I have an all purpose flour from Gluten free pantry, anyone know...
  25. Yeah I was just speaking hypothetically, I'm used to forum posting. But thanks for the reminder tip. I'm actually quite patient...for the most part. PS I think that certain point is 10... I just posted a post and don't have to have it moderated... For those who are curious in the future.
