  1. MAC's amplified cream lipstick has wheat germ oil in it--not gluten-free.
  2. Kimberly- Glad to hear you're having success with the scd. How long were you gluten-free only before you decided to do the scd? And you chose to do it because of slow progress, correct??
  3. Benefit lipsticks are all gluten free (this is the company response to me a few weeks ago). Bare Escentuals--all gluten-free (I have some of their lipsticks now, very nice). MAC is not all gluten-free. I have ingredients for all their products and have been checking the past fews months, as I have a lot of their makeup. MAC lip conditioner has wheat germ...
  4. Kinnikinnick the favorite at my house. Open Original Shared Link
  5. Cleveland Bob-- First off, have to give a shout out for Cleveland--have family there, dad was born and raised...lots of family history there Reflux...I had issues years ago. I'm okay now, but my dad has it pretty severely. We both get palpitations. Most likely, nothing to get worried about. Have you heard of the Vagus nerve before? A doctor blamed...
  6. Uh! What a stupid doctor ! I'm sure you're frustrated right now! Does your mother know about some of the other long-term effects, regardless of "symptoms"? Such as diabetes, cancer, lymphoma, serious nerve damage... Perhaps these articles would be a good for her to read. They do each affirm that fact that some Celiacs will notice no symptoms, and those...
  7. 12bGF- Sorry--I know your frustration. It can be really discouraging, and its okay to feel that way sometimes. ...because this disease and what you are experiencing is a valid 'burden', so to speak. i'm not a big cryer or 'emotion-shower' myself, but i remember one day... i was trying to make some gluten-free yeast bread, that failed miserably, then...
  8. Donna- Prayers for you... I hope you will not have a sense of dread, but be able to have a sense of joy and anticipation at what's ahead these next few days. Some verses for you... The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights. Hab 3:19 (I would love for you to have this feeling...
  9. Devon- Hmmm, I can not speak for sure on brands of fresh-sliced meat. However, I always buy hillshire farms deli selects in the package--very good. Maybe some of these links below will help you out. (One is Jennie O' Turkey's gluten-free list) I would say the thing for you to watch is contamination from the meat slicer in the deli. Even if the meat...
  10. So I was wondering what everyone's most favorite gluten-free food products are... Maybe the one food that helps you be gluten-free at times. I'm always looking for more foods. My personal favorite right now is Mi-Del's arrowroot cookies. I eat like a bag a week. In fact....I'm eating some right now !
  11. I have to agree with burdee and the point about self-care not always being popular. A lot of people don't truly want the best for themselves and others. ...but as I've said before.... All I have to do is think about intestinal lymphoma and carrying around one of those colon bags and I'm on track !
  12. Donna- So glad to hear about your victory You are always in my prayers. Hopefully someone will keep you accountable on not too doing much... How's the wedding coming? What day is it? "Give up the nonsensical and punishing quest for perfection that dogs too many of us through too much of our lives. It is a quest that causes us to doubt and...
  13. Bump- Losing weight and having that feeling of helplessness with your weight is so frustrating. I hope weight watchers is a help to you. However, if it isn't, I would recommend LA Weight Loss. My brother has been overweight for years, partly from health problems, and has never been able to lose weight (having tried everything in the book!). Anyway, he...
  14. I would say absolutely. ...whether from associated fatigue, anemia, vitamin deficiency... and I'm sure there are others. So, the stort of it is yes !
  15. I'd have to recommend Edy's too. They rock
  16. 12bGF- I asked about iron because it almost always constipates and irritates the intestines and stomach. If you get flax, make sure you get the milled flax seed/flax seed meal as Stephanie suggested. The seeds can pass right through your body and don't do you much good. I like to put mine in yogurt or cream of rice. You can also add to baked goods....
  17. Karen- If this is the right product, which is sure seems like--they have a Canadian site too: Open Original Shared Link
  18. Eloisa- Is this the Reliv supplement you were talking about?? Open Original Shared Link
  19. What Kaiti said is always enough to keep me on the diet. I think of greatly increased chances of lymphoma and picture myself with one of those colon-bags. "Yikes!" I think. (Sorry if that's crass!)
  20. oops-hit the wrong button.... ...but i will say i certainly don't enjoy eating out as i did before. in the back of my mind i dread it when it happens. but i do agree with the earlier post that we should try and go out and make ourselves visible, otherwise, the food industry would feel even less pressure to evolve to our needs
  21. i have had great luck with pf changs. i went there this weekend and the manager came out and said they double check everything about 3 times to me but i do always walk away from a restuarant and go "was it really gluten-free?" i guess we have to go for it and trust. it would only take one person who doesn't care to mess up the order. i would...
  22. That's true about the caffeine Stephanie. My husband has to have his morning cup of coffee, if you know what I mean... I'm sure he would love that I shared that with you guys too !
  23. gluten-free or not, alcohol has tended to disagree with my system. Perhaps you are just generally sensitive to it, apart from Celiac. I think some people just are...
  24. PS--If you try the psyillum, experiment. You may want to take more or less than i suggested. It can vary person to person.
  25. No need to be embarrassed. I had to answer this post b/c constipation was my life for years ! However, since going gluten-free I have been so much better. I hope the same for you soon. Here is something I posted previously about the issue below. Hope it helps--it has helped me much in the past. Other things--have you been checked for other food intolerances...
