  12. Some people do not choose to ck on flavorings but I do still. I either ck with manufacturer directly, if they do not list all forms of gluten, or know it is safe if no gluten is listed with certain brands (ie. Kraft).
  13. I also always just call the manufacturer myself. Sometimes this can take a day or two though...

  17. I use Authentic Foods Multi Flour mix for my cookies and have great results. Making a cookie chewy, crispy or cake-like is controlled by factors like the amount of flour or butter you use. Its not that more people are "getting" Celiac, but that more and more existing Celiacs are finally getting diagnosed, as awareness continues to grow, via media, doctors finally understanding the disease etc. However, 90some % of Celiacs are still undiagnosed, and it takes an average of 11 Years to get a diagnosis !
  22. Jillian- Yeah, bring on the fruit :0) Nothing can beat those Harry & David Royal Riveria Pears. They are amazing! Big around this time of year. I got a fruit of the month club for my b-day from Harry & David...who needs yucky caramel corn or baked goods !?
  23. I think many stores are still in the beginning stages of gluten-free foods--even the natural foods stores! I still find incorrect labeling at Wild Oats etc. I found a product with wheat labeled gluten-free at my store this past weekend... I think a majority of the employees don't really know what *gluten-free* is. I get what your saying w/places that...
