  1. I can not get over the being glutened feeling. With that said, I think I may go on a whole foods diet. I can't do dairy so thats out. I know the obvious things like meat, fruit and veg but what about things like lunch meats and bacon and condiments like ketchup? Also what about coffee, tea and juices? I just want to feel better. Something is getting...

    ARCHIVED Sweating

I have been having terrible night sweats. I wake up drenched in sweat and have to change my clothes. The sheets are soaking wet and then I lay there and shiver. I got up and took my temp. and didn't have a fever. Is this common in celiac? Is it some sort of detox from the gluten? My blood test showed elevated liver enzymes maybe that has something...
  3. Thanks everyone! I don't have a hot water bottle but I do have a heating pad and it really does help the pain. My pain has moved from the lower left to the lower right so hopefully it's on the mend! I am noticing that I am getting some of my stamina back. Now if I could just stay out of the bathroom!
  4. Do you have a Costco near by? They have TONS of fish. It's all frozen and it has a one ingredient label. We really like the Alaskan Salmon and the Pacific Cod (both of these are wild caught fish from the USA) They are all individually wrapped and frozen. I can't say enough good things about this fish.
  5. Hi Everyone, I was just wondering how long it takes for the excessive bowel movements to stop. I don't have D anymore but I just keep going and going and going (like the energizer bunny Also while I have this, my lower gut is tender and sore...a little bruised feeling.
  6. Thanks everyone. It is gluten related and not a virus b/c I have mucus and floating stools. I just feel so so sick with this. Celiac disease is really hard to live with and hard for me to manage. I was using a dish soap that was "all natural" with plant based cleaners and plant oil fragrances. I emailed today to see if it was gluten free and they said...
  7. Right now I am using Apple Cinnamon Chex, Kirkland - Costco's rice milk and Bisquick and Betty Crocker. Nothing else packaged but like hormel lunch meat and bacon oh and coffeemate in my coffee. Those things I assume are perfectly safe.
  8. I just started my gluten free diet 2 weeks ago. I noticed am improvement after a couple of days but now I am back to square one. I am pretty positive that I had gluten on Sunday either from a restaurant or from a pre-packaged tamale. Ever since then. I feel like I have the flu but I don't. My face is all red and splotchy and it burns. My lips are cracked...
  9. I am one of those people who always want to know WHY things happen. I have been getting night sweats when glutened. Does anyone know why we get this?
  10. Thanks for the ideas!! I love the the beans idea. Your post is making me hungry.
  11. We are going to get over a foot of snow between now and Wed night! I will be taking all of your tips to heart!! Lets hope that I don't fling myself off a mountain or end up in the river!
  12. Em314 - I have been gluten free for about the same time as you and am feeling the same way. I think that it's just going to take us several months to feel better. I could have written any of the above responses myself.
  13. Thank you all so much for the help! I really appreciate it. I suppose the best thing to do is to start cooking from scratch more. I am going to keep the Betty Crocker, Chex and Bisquick and avoid the rest of the stuff. The boxes say they are from a dedicated facility so i'm going to trust them. I had a blood test come back that showed that my liver...
  14. I'm going to check Amazon.
  15. How are you suppose to find out if cat litter has gluten? There is no ingredient label on my Tidy Cats. Also I use Friskies for my cats. There is no wheat listed on the label. So I can assume it's ok?!?? How are we suppose to live like a regular human being when we have to worry about all of this stuff all the time? Also, my Dr. said if it says...
  16. I am going to get one of these. Where did you buy it?
  17. For example, I just read another post about checking cat littler and cat food for gluten. Seriously?!?
  18. If a product like Betty Crocker Brownies or Bisquick or Pamela's Cookies or whatever is gluten free, is it gluten free? I read so much on here about gluten free products adding up and causing someone to be glutened? Does this really happen? Lets say for example you have Rice Chex for breakfast and with lunch you have some Lays chips and some Udi's Bread...
  19. I just recently bought Kirkland Organic Rice Milk - Costco's brand. I emailed to make sure that they do not use barley enzymes. I heard back and they do NOT use any barley. It is gluten free and really good.
  20. It would be nice to ask the employees to change gloves but I do not speak Spanish. I tried to ask them to put my friends food on a different tray and they didn't understand. It was all on the same tray. She had fries and they rested them up against my chili so that they wouldn't fall over I assume. I was thinking about the gluten while eating..they...
  21. Thanks for the responses! I appreciate it. Celiac Mindwrap, it sounds like we have very similar issues with gluten. I'm with you, it's a perfect incentive to stay gluten-free..that and the fact that I have elevated liver enzymes from gluten is enough to scare me straight! I just need to keep reminding myself that I am not going to be all healed in a weeks...
  22. Yesterday I was out shopping with a friend and we were pretty far from home. I didn't plan on being out long but lunch time came and went and it was going on 2 and we were starving. I KNOW I should have went to a grocery store and gotten some safe food but noooo..I caved and went to a fast food place and got chili and a baked potato. It was on their gluten...
  23. After a pretty long gluten challenge with bad results, I am on a gluten free diet. I had a doctor tell me that because I had mucus, I had ibs and not celiac. After eating gluten for a few months as ordered by my doc., I had migraines almost daily, joint pain and muscle weakness so badly, I had to literally crawl up the stairs. With D and C and severe lower...
  24. Heard great news from Costo regarding their Kirkland Rice Milk. Dear From our Products Department: We do not use barley enzymes. Our Rice Milk is gluten free. Thank you, Costco Wholesale
