  1. You may be becoming more sensitive as time goes by. I do not know if this happens as we get older or if it happens because of our gluten free diet. I went through a honeymoon period when I could cheat a lot. That lasted about a year and a half and after that I started having problems again and had to tighten up my diet. Now, I even avoid processed gluten...
  2. I did hear back from arrowhead mills. They test to 10ppm. I had already tried the cereal anyway and seemed to do ok. I do limit the amount I eat since it is processed food.
  3. Thanks for your input. I have tried an elimination diet before. One of the things that makes a lot of this difficult for me is the fact that I am skinny. I start losing weight whenever I try an elimination diet or if I try to go paleo. I mean to the point that people stop and ask me if I am sick or something. I also lost about 15 lbs when my intestinal...
  4. I was wondering if any of you non-celiac GI's out there have experimented with starting to eat gluten again. If you have tried, how did it go? When I first stopped eating gluten, it was like a miracle. The diarrhea that had plagued me for 20 plus years totally went away. That lasted for close to 2 years and then I started having trouble again. I have...
  5. I actually accidentally figured out some cc issues when I went camping for the first time in many years. I felt a lot better while camping and upon my return, tightened up on precautions in our gluten filled kitchen at home.
  6. I'll let you know how it goes if I try it. I'm not knocking Arrowhead mills in particular. Many processed gluten free foods have enough gluten to cause some of us problems. To be honest, for me eating a little of the cereal not very often probably will not effect me too badly. I think a good stategy for some is to eat fresh, non-processed food most of...
  7. I did email them. Probably won't hear back from them til after the 4th. I am a little concerned abuot their products due to what I have seen at another site. Some people test products on their own and some of the Arrowhead Mills products, including the buckwheat flour did not do so well at testing for 10ppm. No one at that site has tested the cereal I...
  8. How come you stopped eating it? Did it give you problems?
  9. One thing that helps me is cooking larger portions and freezing some. You can grab something out of the freezer when you don't feel like cooking.
  10. I know this topic may belong under the food section of the forum, but I wanted to ask the super sensitive crowd if any of you have had any luck with this cereal. I seem to do ok with some of the Erewhon cereals, but I am looking for some variety. Haven't done well with Rice Chex or Enjoy Life Cereals. I am currently avoiding corn also. Maple Buckwheat...
  11. I have been experimenting with eating cassava aka tapioca, yucca, etc. as a source of carbs since I have been avoiding grains. Unfortunately, I seem to experience a painful gut when I eat it. I read on some web site that tapioca might be hard for celiacs to deal with. I am non-celiac gluten intolerant. Anybody else have trouble with cassava or know if and...
  12. I have a list.

  13. I am reaching the conclusion that my gluten sensitivity has gotten more severe. I am feeling a lot better since eliminating all processed foods including those listed as gluten free. I was wondering if anyone has compiled a list of processed foods that the more sensitive of us can tolerate? I am not sure what my threshold is, but I was thinking maybe ...
  14. I think that some people can tolerate eggs better in baked goods because there is less egg in each serving compared to eating just eggs. My egg intolerance didn't hit me until after going gluten-free for about 2 years.
  15. Thanks for the info!
  16. I am not sure whether I have celiac disease or just gluten intolerance. I had a fairly high Igg score, but Ttg,IgA normal. Didn't have a biopsy prior to going gluten free. I have read a lot about the body's reaction to gluten if you have celiac, but what about just plain intolerance? What happens? If anyone has any good links to medical studies, that...
  17. I've been trying to manage things on my own for a while, but sometimes I feel like giving doctors another try. I felt great and the intestinal problems stopped when I first went gluten-free 6 years ago, but symptoms returned after 2years. Can't seem to get the problem figured out on my own. Has anyone had success with a similar problem with help from a...
  18. Sorry about your diffuculties. I have my doubts about acid inhibitors. I was doing great eating gluten free. The diarrhea I had for most of my life vanished. Subsequently, I had some gerd problems and took Prilosec and then Nexium for several months. I started having trouble with diarrhea again which continued even after stopping the acid inhibitors...
  19. Yeah, I have been working on eliminating cc, especially since reading a lot of you guy's posts before joining the forum. I don't know if it was a coincidence, but I went camping for a couple of days recently and felt a lot better. Got away from my kitchen (we're slobs-crumbs, noodles and wheat flour sometimes all over the place) and ate out of paper plates...
  20. Funny you would mention eggs! I have had to stop eating eggs as an entree. I seem to do ok if egg is a minor ingredient in a baked good and I take it easy. It seems to be egg whites in particular that bother me. Thanks for the input.
  21. When I first went on a gluten-free diet, my symptoms disappeared almost immediately. Because of bad advice from the diagnosing physician, I did cheat on the diet. Still, I felt great for almost 2 years and then symptoms started coming back. I got wiser and tightened up my diet, but am still having problems with diarrhea and bloating. Does gluten sensitivity...
