ARCHIVED Results Of Kids Testing :(
Victoria6102 replied to Mom-of-Two's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
An endoscopy is nothing. I had it done when I was 15 and it is completely fine. It only takes 20 minutes (or less) to do it. Afterwards, she will probably just feel groggy, and maybe a little sore throat. Buy some popsicles! by the next day she will be fine. Just when you go home, let her sleep. She'll probably want to sleep anyway! good luck! I definitely... -
Isn't diet coke caffeine free? Sorry you had the twitching too! I did a lot of research online and it seems like lots of people get this buy noone knows what it is! It seems like a lot of the people were pregnant, but the others seemed to have no idea what it could be. I don't think it's anything serious, but you never know. I just started taking...

I have been getting this feeling for the past few days, where my lower abdomen will start to twitch/flutter/spasm, not sure what to call it exactly. If I put my hand on my stomach I can feel it, and I can also see it when I look in the mirror as it happens. Can anybody tell me if they've experienced something like this before? I'm afraid there's something...

ARCHIVED Gluten-Free Food Taken Away At Sea World
Victoria6102 replied to JohnnyOh's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
That's awful! I'm sorry! There is an amusement park right by my house called lake compounce. They wouldn't let me bring my food in! But luckily I could put my food in my car and go get it at lunch time. Sorry for your bad experience! Some people just enjoy being rude! -
I have veryyy pale/fair skin and it's hard for me to find makeup I can wear. I found one powder from Revlon that is light enough for my skin, and it is literally the ONLY one except the $50 ones I can't afford. Does anyone know if Revlon is gluten free? Does anyone else have really fair, I mean REALLY fair skin that uses a fairly inexpensive makeup...

Ok. Maybe it was just because they were new at the job and weren't educated about celiac yet. Glad you don't have any problems! I did not get sick so they prepared the food correctly but the service was the part that bothered me.

Ok, I went to Hershey park on Saturday. I know it was only the second day it was open but their staff was not educated very much about celiac and gluten free. A stand said it had gluten free options but when I asked, the cashier said "what?" I said "gluten free" she continued asking what I meant and she said she had no idea what I was talking about. Then...

I don't have a Facebook but I am so angry that they are deleting everyone's comments. They're just too scared to stand up and say they made a mistake so they're gonna delete the TRUTH off of their Facebook page and make us look bad. I think we should boycott dominoes. Obviously we already don't eat there but our families might. I'm upset they're doing this...

Sorry I'm feeling more sane today, and your right the bands aren't that bad I guess. Just after all the research I was doing online and then when I called they couldn't give me any information. They were very unhelpful and almost rude. I was just upset I guess. sorry! Thanks

Im going to Hershey park on Friday, so would greatly appreciate any replies you could give before then! Thanks! It says on their website that they have trained their staff about CC and that they have separate utensils for the gluten free foods. There are 10 restaurants there that offer gluten-free menus and some have gluten-free pizzas desserts and buns...

ARCHIVED Vitamin Panel Results-- Help Please!
Victoria6102 replied to Mom-of-Two's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Get sublingual b12. As celiacs it is hard for us to absorb things before we heal so the sublingual allows it to be absorbed through the vessels under your tongue. There's a brand of vitamins that is completely gluten free that I use. I believe it's country farm. I'll look at them tomorrow and let you know for sure. good luck! -
ARCHIVED Unknowingly Ate Oats....what's Your Opinion?
Victoria6102 replied to Victoria6102's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Man I was hoping there'd be no damage! well atleast I know I can't tolerate oats! Also, although I'm really nauseous and tired, I don't have any of the other symptoms like when I get glutened. Is it possible that I'm just intolerant of oats or is it normal to have different symptoms of a "glutening" with oats? I know that regular oats can be CCed but why... -
ARCHIVED Unknowingly Ate Oats....what's Your Opinion?
Victoria6102 posted a topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I went to Whole Foods last night and when I came home I tried some of the new stuff I bought. Later that night I felt severely nauseous. Today I was eating some of the same cookies I tried last night and noticed they had oats in them. My heart like flipped. It said there was 1/28 cup of gluten free oats in each serving. I musta eaten 6 cookies! now I'm feeling... -
ARCHIVED Restaurant Won't Let Me Bring In My Own Food
Victoria6102 replied to Newbee's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
For restaurants, if they don't know what gluten is there's no way I'm gonna try to make them understand. Even if you explain what you need to be done to keep you safe they aren't goin to go buy new utensils and cookware. A lot of restaurants have told me I can't bring any food with me but usually I do anyway and just hide it if the waiters come around. I... -
I hate when companies do this....it makes it hard for us who have celiac because it makes non-celiac people think that we can eat everywhere, and they get confused. Of they just think we are crazy, because "come on if it says "gluten free" you can eat it!" "stop being so picky" "quit trying to get so much attention" all of those kinds of comments by uneducated...

I hate confrontation do I think that's why I don't stand up for myself. I did this time about the sticker..just the principle of someone wanting me to put a sticker on my head that describes the kind of food I have to eat, because I have a disease, just so they can laugh at me. Thanks for the advice Aerial. And yes, they def are twits lol

Thanks everyone The kids treating me this way are some homeschooled, some public schooled and some Christian schooled. I've been to many churches and find that kids everywhere are mean, and like you said, need to grow up! I know for the rest of my life I will be dealing with people like them, wherever I am. Guess yout all Right and i need ti learn to...

These aren't my friends! Just idiotic teens. My two good friends were there and did not laugh. My parents don't force me to go, I willingly go also I do laugh it off in front of them, and don't make a big deal out of it. Just inside it bothers me but I don't usually let it show. I just come here to vent but Im sorry if I've annoyed you with my posts about...
