  2. Ive been gluten free for a year and a half. Went semi lactose free but would still eat cheese or ranch dressing sometimes. Then am not feeling better so two weeks ago I decided to go lactose and casein free. I did with almost no cheating until Wednesday. I wasn't feeling better being off dairy so I reintroduced it, for the first time since I've been gluten...
  3. Now THAT is funny! I can't believe it....the French must have been the first to have celiac
  4. Ha...maybe I change my answer....maybe I would! Lol
  5. I learned sign language. I have been learning for 9 years. I learned by taking a couple classes at my church, where I now do a little interpreting. And the main interpreter taught me. ASL( American sign language) is a LOT of fun and it is great to know!
  6. Today, I was asked by my skeptic peers if I would eat a piece of bread for a million dollars. I said no! they laughed and said "yeah right". WhO knows, maybe I would get caught up in the moment and say yes. But for how I have felt when I was slightly CCed I dont want to know what it would feel like to eat a whole piece of bread. To me, my health isn't worth...
  7. And I like that, "frenemies" is a great way to put it! Haha! As far as support groups, the closest one I'd almost an hour away and it's once a month on nights when I'm busy. So I find it would not work. Plus I get help from this forum and that's enough for me! I appreciate the idea of having a speaker come, although I know these "frenemies" well enough...
  8. At five guys, they only make fries in the fryer....I don't eat fries anywhere else. I am as careful as is possible so I'm very 100% sure I'm not getting any CC, as when I drank out if someone else's water bottle By accident, I got glutened. anyway that's a whole other thing lol! That's a good idea! Our church is having a potluck tomorrow which he will...
  9. Your right, thank you for your advice, prickly pear. I wouldn't want to hurt him or be thought of as someone who degrades preachers. Thank you for that insight, very helpful! I guess I was thinking so much about how maybe I could finally convince them that I didn't think about the entire situation....I had better start thinking of others before myself:)
  10. Oh no, it's nothing against the preacher at all, you're right, he does have to accept the meals in order to not offend people which I totally understand! And i am happy that I don't have to be in his position where I'd have to trust what other people cook for me! He is truly sacrificing his health for what he knows God wants him to do and I respect that very...

  12. Mamaw, Doritos are not gluten free. Don't mean to sound rude, just wanted to make it clear that they are not .
  13. Withdrawal is no fun!!!!sorry to say that there really isn't a way to make the withdrawal symptoms go away faster, you just have to keep eating 100% gluten free and try to eat natural, healthy foods to help you feel better overall. Make sure you aren't getting any cross contamination. Have you had an endoscopy? Your doctor should have suggested that before...
  14. I'm sorry, I was not aware there was a liquid version! I was taking the Solutab because I couldn't swallow the pill. The Solutab was a dissolvable tablet. I may have to look into trying the liquid version if it is gluten free. Although, like I said before, check with the company yourself to be sure it is gluten free. I don't trust anyone to tell me something...
  15. I learned that I can't always trust the pharmacies! Although they may call the company and the company says its gluten free, I call back and get different info, which they don't tell you unless you ask. In this case, they said its gluten free because they don't ADD gluten to the product. But that the companies they get their ingredients from may have added...
  16. Prevacid is not gluten free, I was on it for awhile, then had to get my prescription refilled. When i called to confirm it was gluten free, they had switched facilities and manufacturers and it was no longer gluten free.are there any other medicines she can take?
  17. Very true! But hey it can't hurt (except the minor finger prick to get this test done and maybe save some time so I can feel better sooner I will let you know how it goes.
  18. It costs less than $250. it's a test where I prick my finger and fill 5 little circles with blood, and send it in to a lab that will test for the 96 allergens. I believe I will be starting an elimination diet after the test, if nothing shows up.
  19. My naturopath recommended I get an allergy test that tests for 96 foods. Has anyone taken this test, and what are your thoughts?! Will the wheat panel on the test show up negative because I am eating gluten free?
  20. Just called the company.thry said that they just changed plants, and wheat products are now processed on the same line. But they sanitize between each run.so I wouldn't normaly eat them just out of cautiousness but having accidentally eaten a couple I believe I willbe ok.
  21. I bought the utz tortilla chips.i just bought the exact same kind four days ago and it clearly said gluten free on the back! Now it has the "may be ..." statement. So far, I'm feeling no worse than a normal day. Usually when im glistened (it's only happened twice but both times a stomach bug was going around so it was hard to tell what was from what) I have...
  22. I just ate two utz chips. They have always said gluten free on the back. I always read the back of things before I eat them to make sure the ingredients haven't changed. This is literally the second time I've ever eaten a food without checking the back of the package first. I'm SO SCARED right now because after I ate two chips, I looked at the back and it...
  23. How did your trip go!? I saw this post too late. But for future trips, I would suggest bringing GoPicnics. They are available online and have many gluten free options. They are all ready-to-go, don't need to be kept cold or heated up, and they are in a convenient little box that you can bring with you to eat at any time. I recently went to Zambia, Africa...
  24. In my experience I've found many dairy products that are CCed, including sour cream and milk. It can be CCed by dips or things like that. and the key word is "rare", I don't want to take any chances but that's my own decision
  25. It depends how strict you are. I would not eat it, because many things are CCed but it's not listed on the package and you only find out if you call the company. So unless an item says gluten free or I've confirmed it is gluten free before, I don't eat it.
