  1. OH MY!!! I am sooo sorry to hear you have had such a horrible experience with Chipolte! I live in Ohio and this is my absolute favorite resturant! They are so accomodating. I have NEVER been cross contaminated. In the beginning I had a very difficult time communicating with the employees also. I do not speak spanish and everyone in all of the stores...
  2. Last week I had a similar experience. I wondered about the glue on the juice also. I guess we cant rule anything out. I will however avoid pealing the lid back on those juice cups for a while. Anyone out there with a similar experience?
  3. I have had a gluten free environment early after I was diagnosed. I was cross contaminated so many times by things no one ever thought of. My family can eat gluten anytime they are not at home. I don't care about that. Only rule there is no lip kisses if you ate gluten that day. Yes I have been contaminated by kisses. There are plenty of convienience...
  4. I want fries so bad I can taste them!!!! But I am afraid of getting any contamination. I am just to sensitive. It is not worth it. I only eat fries at a fair were all they sell is hand cut fries. One would think that would make me much thinner than I am. But alas, chocolate still is gluten-free and my hips show it!!!
  5. Hey Lauren: Sorry you are so directly affected by these recent incidents. I live near Columbus and have seen the pictures of these teachers on the Television. I always feel so sad for the people who love the outed person. Haveing to constantly see their loved one in such a bad light. Especially when all you have known is the good in that person. I will...
  6. Sara and Barb: Thanks for the info on the second rise. I have never been much of a baker and actually would never probably give a second rise a thought. The bricks I made last night might have been better if I hadn't tried to implement a second rise. Oh well, back to the bakeing board. He He! And you said it best Barb when you said the bread wouldn...
  7. Hello all! I have a bakeing question. I just tried to make hamberger buns using a combination of recepies. It didn't turn out very well. The recipie insturcted me to let dough rise then cut into six portions and roll into balls. Let them sit 10 min then flatten and let rise again. Well, the rise again did not happen. I let the buns sit 1 hour and ...
  8. Hello friends. I just bought this pan and am looking forward to using it. However when I opened it there were no instructions. I live over an hour away from the store I bought it in so I hate to drive all the way back for the instruction/receipie book. Do I just oil the pan like I do for pancakes? If I want to add things that are solid when do they get...
  9. Joan: I haven't heard about wheat in sanitary napkins before. In all of them?
  10. Portageegal, don't worry. I actually like some of the stuff others have mentioned dislikeing. I love NaNa's cookies. But I love hearing the stories of others. Really though, don't buy pregackaged bread. UCKKKKK!!!!! That is my all time worst product. Every one of them. I bake my own.
  11. I am 40 something and I can tell you I get a rash every time I need to wear panty hose. The rash is where the elastic is at my waist band. Suppose there is some sort of gluten in the elastic of these garments? (Diapers and panty hose?)
  12. I told our waiter and the head waiter. Anytime they saw me anywhere near food they were at my side giving me suggestions. Buffet, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Room Service!!! I was on Royal Carribean and will hesitate to travel any other way! The cruise was wonderful!!!!!
  13. Thanks for the update. I will have to look for this product. Glad it works on a glass top.
  14. This looks like a great kitchen gadget!!! I would love to try it but I have a glass top stove. Anyone tried this on a glass top rather than on gas?
  15. Thanks! Can't wait to bake it!!
  16. Mystilyn: I am getting ready to gather my ingredients to make bread. I am confused on the amount of milk you used. Was it a cup like the posted recipie states or 3/4 cup?
  17. Scotty I think you may have taken too much of a good thing. You do not need to take them indefinately. My herbalist had me on one type for 4 months (just one pill a day, although the bottle recommended 3 ) Then we switched to a different probiotic bacteria in the same brand of probiotics and I take 1 pill a day and it has been 2 months.
  18. Hey I noticed you are from Canal Fulton. There is Pizzanello's in Alliance that has an entire menu of gluten-free food. Not just burgers and steaks. Spagetti and Pizza!!! Meatball's that are made by someone besides me! I haven't had an opportunity to go there yet. My folks live near there. I saw there sign offered gluten-free food and I called for...

    ARCHIVED Naturopath/homeopath

I started seeing an herbalist myself. It has been about 4 months and things are SO much better!!!!! The Big D, under control, Intestinal pain gone. I have even had an accidental, cross contamination. The symptoms were gone so fast!!! I also have DH with my celiac. (I like the deluxe version of everythng. ) I have not had a break out in over four months...
  20. Try this out. Toast a corn tortilla, spread with whipped cream cheese and top with warm pepperoni. Simple and tasty! Would make a quick appitizer.
  21. I wonder if you could substitute Pamela's pancake mix for the flour mixture?
  22. Thanks for the information. I guess I will have to check and see what these flours cost me. Some I have, others I would have to buy. Lots of storage issues for me. So I guess I just need to look at the pros and cons. Nice comparison. Thanks for the recipe.
  23. May I ask how much you save by by making this yourself. I use quite a bit of the Pamela's myself. I even have my in-laws eating it and they do not have a celiac problem. They just like it better. Thanks in advance for sharing your cost.
  24. Thanks for posting about your husbands irrational behavior. Lately my husband and I have been having incredible arguments that after some time passes, seem as though everything was way overblown. I will watch for this and my gluten situation. Yea, yet another thing to attribute to Celiac. People are going to think I am blameing my Celiac for all of my...
