    ARCHIVED Worried Yet Cannot Help.

Sounds like you are doing all the right things... My GI told me to stick with whatever works, which for me is polyethylene glycol (MiraLax)daily. I wish I could drink the herbal lax tea I have in the house - but it's Yogi brand, which is not necessarily gluten free. Metamucil? It's another fiber supplement like Benefiber but it has psyllium fiber...
  2. I am trying to avoid soy & sugar but I've had a few Snickers bars lately so that may have been too much... Guess gluten free doesn't equal safe for me.
  3. Thanks for the responses! I'm going to retrace my steps over the past few days & check for cc. Good news is that I did not wake up with the pain today - yea! Time to start anew...
  4. I've seen so many threads here about rib cage pain, yet here I am with questions - sorry I've had burning pains right underneath my rib cage - both sides - for the past couple days. They come and go, but mostly they are present. This is the "mystery" pain that has stumped both my PCP & GI since early February, but the one that finally got...
  5. Wisconsin Cheesehead here with a question... I did not know that aged hard cheese was lactose free... is Parm included or just cheddar? I used Sartori brand BellaVitano Gold (a creamier kind of parm - no offensive ingredients listed) in a recipe yesterday and then promptly had burning ribcage pain, extreme fatigue & "loopiness". Are these some...
  6. Hi Folks, Are there any labs that are typically done around the 6th month check-up point? Does it depend on my list of complaints/symptoms or is it standard practice to check healing progress with blood work and/or another endoscopy? Guess I want to keep my doctor in check Seems to me that you all are much more knowledgeable about this disease...

    ARCHIVED Worried Yet Cannot Help.

I'm glad you're going to see a GI. He will probably ask you if you have bloating, nausea and/or vomiting. They asked me that 100's of times - I believe it's a symptom of a blockage or impaction. Are you taking a fiber supplement? I ask because - from personal experience - I would NOT recommend it for someone with chronic constipation. Here's why...

    ARCHIVED Worried Yet Cannot Help.

Hi, Constipation is a huge issue for me also... so I get what you are going through. I had a colonoscopy a month or two ago to rule out a fecal impaction - it was all clear but my GI put me on Miralax 2 to 3 times per day - like maybe till whenever my intestines heal up - could be years. Point is, my GI told me that Miralax is totally mild and totally...
  9. I'm really sorry that you're suffering. I can relate - not only to the brain fog/fatigue/no motivation issues, but to the job stress as well. What seems to help me is to eliminate sugary foods (including dairy) - these I tend to eat more of when I feel under pressure. In the end, cereal, cookies, ice cream - anything processed really - all make me...
  10. Some of my neurological symptoms are difficulty concentrating, balance issues & forgetfulness. I have lab orders in for a B12 level check. I have not seen a neurologist yet. Anyway, these symptoms are almost constant - accidentally glutened or not.
  11. Wow, ok. I will ask for some B level labs ASAP - that and perhaps another stress test. Right now I take just 1000mcg of B12 in the morning - the tablets. Thanks very much for the insight - these symptoms are incredibly frightening.
  12. I've never had a reaction like this - unless the "high" you describe is like brain fog - that out-of-it, can't remember 12 to noon, what was I saying?, o.k. why did I come in here?, I'm-gonna-fall-asleeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.... feeling?! All I remember is horrible pain & the above mentioned crazy neurological symptoms. Good luck to...
  13. I'm sorry that you're going through all this... I share a kitchen with no dishwasher also. Here's what helps me: Wipe down counter surfaces before I do anything. Use lots of paper towels & tin foil. Have a designated (top) shelf in the fridge, and a cupboard for my own for gluten-free food. Use a clean dish rag each time I do dishes. All best...
  14. Of course not - isn't that the way it works? I only wore it for 24 hours because the symptoms were so frequent. My mom has A-Fib & yes, it is hard to catch sometimes.
  15. I've had several EKG's since 1997 or so... My last two were abnormally normal for me. Meaning, the one I had in 2007 was abnormal - that prompted the stress test. The one that the hospital did was pretty much the same as the one from 4 years earlier (both abnormal, but no sig. change). I was told that I "may have" some heart tissue damage in the ventricular...
  16. Yes, I had it checked a couple months ago (August maybe?) - all they said was that my thyroid function is in the normal range.
  17. Hey Folks, Since September I've had a change in condition - not sure if it is anxiety or heart related. Here's the lowdown: - episodes of sudden & extreme fatigue - shortness of breath - lump in the throat & choking feeling (sometimes - not every episode) - racing, pounding heart which I can feel way down in my descending aorta. - sometimes...
  18. I take MiraLax twice daily - that's the non generic polyethylene glycol. Been doing this since my hospitalization two months ago - so far it has worked. I also drink at least 4 liters of water each day & try to avoid processed foods.
  19. What did the bra say to the hat?..... "You go on ahead, I'll give these two a lift!" Hope someone gets a smile outta that

    ARCHIVED Bone Pain

So true! I'll ask my primary care Doc. when I see her next month. Funny, I always thought I was just a big time klutz!

    ARCHIVED Bone Pain

Yes, I have muscle fatigue/weakness/pain/cramping that comes and goes... I have learned from my Chiropractor that that particular phenomenon - at least for me - is due to my Ulnar nerve "firing" all willy-nilly. That nerve innervates the muscles of the forearm and the last two fingers, which is exactly where my issues are. My Chiro has adjusted my spine...

    ARCHIVED Bone Pain

Doc said that Fibromyalgia is a catch all phrase for any kind of nerve impulse mis-fire or disconnect... which is why it can present in different ways. Chiro Doc also said that - contrary to what older research found - neurons CAN regenerate with treatment. I should mention that he has over 25 years of both Nero and Chiro experience. Tests for "Fibromyalgia...

    ARCHIVED Bone Pain

This new chiro seems so knowledgeable - he is also thorough and seriously listens to me. It is so refreshing. I'll be sure to ask about "tests" for Fibromyalgia... I'll take notes or something so I don't forget it all.

    ARCHIVED Bone Pain

I saw a chiropractor today who specializes in autoimmune disorders. He said that I have multiple neuro issues due to too many years of undiagnosed Celiac. Fibromyalgia is a definite possibility. I will see him again on Friday & share all I learn from him about all our bone & nerve pain here... I still hurt but at least I found someone who has...
  25. May I ask what the "cheap imitation version" of Xanax was? I'm on Alprazolam - generic form of Xanax. Please tell me this doesn't contain gluten!!! How do I find out?
