  1. Burning pain in upper right abdominal area, ribcage and joint pain, lower back pain, headache, "out of it" feeling - difficulty concentrating & finding the right words, memory lapses. Most recently, itchy rash.
  2. Thank you! No, I've never had the rash before. I've only been gluten free for a short time - so maybe I'm one of those people you mentioned who get DH outbreaks early on in the gluten free transition. I do actually feel better - the itchiness in my eyes is gone at the moment, and I used some gluten free Dessert Essence lotion, which feels great...
  3. Udi's bread - toasted - with natural peanut butter & honey works for me! I get some protein, it fills me up & stays with me a long while. Happy eating!
  4. Greetings from Southeast Wisconsin! I am newly diagnosed (going on 2 weeks) & searching for some support close to home. I'm located 40 minutes north of Milwaukee in small town, USA. It would be nice to have a shopping partner - someone to hang out with - just someone who really gets that this disease involves more than intestinal issues. Thanks...
  5. Hey everyone, Yesterday morning I noticed a really itchy rash along my neckline, upper chest & front shoulders. Throughout the day, I had severe pain in my ribcage & sternum bone. Today the rash is pretty much all over - even in my eyes. Anyone know if these symptoms are caused by celiac - possibly by a later stage celiac? Little history...
  6. What a coincidence - I'm from West Bend also I moved back here (from Milwaukee) last August. It's much more peaceful... city stress and I don't do well together.
  7. I am 41 years old and I've never been pregnant. I don't think I've ever had a hemorrhoid - seems like something I'd remember. There's no pain when I pass stool, so perhaps I do have internal ones - as you said. I plan to ask my G.I for a colonoscopy. I've only had an upper endoscopy. Thank you for the suggestions!
  8. I'm really sorry if this grosses anyone out, but I'm concerned about recent issues related to stool. Thanks in advance if you are still reading! For the past 10 days I've had red blood marbled throughout my stool. Other than that, it's light tan colored. No issues with diarrhea, but history of constipation (though not recently). This...
  9. Thank you for sharing your experience as well as your wisdom. Towel drying after a shower is a big issue for me also. I have not heard of trigger point therapy, although I see that my YMCA offers trigger point massage. I'd like to check it out, though not now. Just the thought of a massage makes me hurt. I'm hopeful though, because of posts like...
  10. Thank you so very much! It feels great to be among people who "get it"! I've felt very dismissed by some of the professionals I've seen. Granted, I had worked myself into a panic because I was so worried - I knew something wasn't right. Now that the Celiac has been confirmed (by an upper scope & the blood test)I feel like they trust that I...
  11. Does anyone experience skin pain and sensitivity? This seems so strange, but every time I'm touched, I just flinch because it irritates my skin. This is especially true of my shoulders and back. The friction of putting lotion on my shoulders is so bad - I use baby oil instead because I can just pat in on. It's even in my fingertips! Typing is irritating...
  12. I don't feel like myself either! I also get that "spaced out" feeling - plus zero motivation, memory lapses, extreme fatigue & anxiety. I saw my GP today - when I told her these symptoms, she said that they are likely due to very poor absorption of essential nutrients. Doc also said that it can take 6 month to 2 years or so to heal. My blood...
  13. Today I had a gluten free Amy's Kitchen meal - Matar Paneer - and soon after experienced moderate burning pain in my upper intestines and a mild headache. I'm wondering if it could have been the spices. Since being diagnosed with Celiac (about a week ago) & eating gluten free, I've been sticking to rather bland foods (mostly out of fear &...
  14. Thank you all for the support and encouragement! I'm so grateful for this site & everyone here... I no longer feel alone.
  15. Thank you for the response - I'm grateful for this site! I read that it can take up to two years for the intestinal villi to heal. Have others here found that to be the case? If so, is it nonsense for me to supplement with vitamins now? I mean, if I'm not absorbing nutrients then what's the point? Sorry if the question seems silly - I'm just getting...
  16. Hi everyone, My G.I found evidence of what he guesses is Celiac disease & is currently confirming this via a blood test. I've been gluten free for 3 days. I'm concerned about these other, seemingly unrelated, issues... Bone pain - one month ago my pain began suddenly and severely in my right rib. The area is still super sore & tender. ...
