    Oh, and the reason why I'm paying out of pocket is that my insurance company has a $1,000 deductible. After I spend that myself, they'll begin paying 80%. Not the best plan. :-/

    Thanks. My blood test as my doctor said "was VERY positive for Celiac", so he said that there is no doubt that I have it. He did tell me to begin my gluten-free diet, at least, so I'm happy about that. He just wants to see how much damage has been done and try to determine if I'm lactose intolerant, as well.     I went in for my biopsy today. They put me under but halfway through they had to stop - apparently my stomach had too much food in it despite me not eating for six hours beforehand as directed (and I only ate a light snack).     So today is my first day of being gluten free. I just tried a slice of Rudi's multigrain bread with pumpkinseed butter (similar to peanut butter) and cranberries on it, and I already miss bread. All I could taste was how dry and bland the bread seemed. I'm hoping that I'll just be able to get used to it. I will try Udi's bread as well but kind of think...

    I've also read that some people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (the symptoms of which are very similar to Celiac) actually do very well on a gluten free diet. Have you looked into IBS at all?

    Hi, My doctor just called me to tell me that my blood test results were "very positive for Celiac Disease". I will be scheduled to have a endoscopy next week, but what I forgot to ask my doctor is whether or not I should start my gluten free diet now or wait until after the endoscopy.
