  1. Mouth sores can also be a symptom of Crohn's. Not to scare you, as mouth sores could also appear for less serious reasons. Point is, you should see a physician if you have not already done so and see if they will run some tests across the board.
  2. I'm paranoid, and I second Patti. No need to toss the whole thing, just the leaves that touched the tortilla bag.
  3. none of the above, although i did have a glass of wine with dinner. just the pepto bismol. i'll try to go to bed as soon as possible and hopefully be able to sleep. ugh.
  4. Out of town in Cary, NC for a funeral. Needed to eat dinner. So went to Biaggi's. This is why I never eat out. They brought me regular pasta. I was one or two bites in before someone came running out of the kitchen. This is AFTER I grilled the guy (not our server) who brought the food out - he confidently said yes when I asked him to confirm it was gluten...
  5. I found the answer to my own question so figured I'd share in case anyone else is interested. Teddy's Peanut Butter (made in Massachusetts) makes only peanut butter and has confirmed with me that they do NOT have any wheat in their facility. I had some last week and was fine. Yay!
  6. Does anyone know a brand of peanut butter that they've confirmed with the company is not made on a shared line? I used to have Santa Cruz PB and I'm iffy on whether I reacted to it ever. I'd really like to re-introduce peanut butter but I absolutely need it not to be produced on a shared line. Can't have soy in it either. Thanks!
  7. I'd take a closer look at the lentils. They have a really high cc incidence. I've been glutened badly by them. I eat other beans instead now. It's too bad because I love lentils, but I haven't worked myself up to trying a "safe" brand. No matter what the brand you always need to wash them thoroughly and pick through them to find any hidden wheat kernels....
  8. I always carry a Lara bar with me. The kind I buy has three ingredients: Peanuts, Dates, Salt.
  9. I spent an hour in Panera two days ago for a work meeting. I didn't consume anything, not even water. I was very careful not to touch my face and watched my hands as soon as we left. I still got glutened. I called the Panera and confirmed that they don't make their bread from scratch in that location, but they do bake bread that arrives as pre-formed dough...
  10. I've been happy with Neuma. I buy it in a salon and it's salon pricey, but works very well, and is an all vegan and gluten free line. They also list all product ingredients on their website.
  11. This thread is ancient but I just came across it and HAVE to say something. I got food poisoning at Fire and Ice many many years ago (pre-gluten,dairy issues). Buffet with food sitting out all day = not a good idea. More to the point for this board, the cc issues are massive, with everyone directly picking their own food out of the buffet.
  12. Shoot. I've been doing better (other than an unfortunate incident stemming from shaking out a bread basket outside in the wind - oops) so I've been thinking about whether I should try a dairy test at some point. Then yesterday I drank water out of a glass that my husband had drank from - he'd had coffee with milk before that (definitely no gluten). Today...

    ARCHIVED Celiac Specialists In Boston

I'll chime in on how great they are. Anyone in the area is lucky to have them. I see Dr Leffler and Melinda Dennis (the nutritionist). They're knowledgeable about the illness and very professional, caring, and helpful.
  14. I've gotten sick with lentils. For now I'm just avoiding them but I would LOVE to be able to reintroduce them if anyone knows of a safe brand.
  15. You said you're lactose intolerant, so what about lactose-free milk? Unless you actually have a milk protein intolerance, like many of us. I wouldn't be so quick to rule out almond milk, since you're already needing to rule out gluten and dairy(?). Almond milk (and nuts in general) are good fats, and fat in moderation is not necessarily a bad thing (according...
  16. It's been just over a month since my original post so I thought I'd follow up with everyone. I eliminated a bunch of stuff and got myself back to feeling consistently well for most of May, other than one slip up at my mom's house where she couldn't be bothered to use my designated cutting board (grrrr...) while making lunch. While otherwise pretty careful...
  17. As long they don't have gluten!
  18. JB, the pain is just GI. Luckily fibro/muscular pains have not been an issue for me. SA, that's a good idea. I'm already processed-lite, but probably need to step back and get more methodical. Today I finally slept through the night and am feeling better, so far. Which reinforces that I've probably been having one of my dairy reactions which are typically...
  19. Sorry for the long post. I don't always post when I get sick because I feel like a broken record, but I just need to ask for everyone's advice, again! I've been having a rough few days. For the last two nights I've woken up at 3am and not able to go back to sleep and my gi system feels stopped, sure signs that I've been hit. I'm constipated with stomach...
  20. It was actually organic, and came with dirt still included. I washed the second batch, but my husband watched the first, which means, not so well. lol
  21. I got really bloated with some constipation over the last two days. I had largish amounts of green leaf lettuce two days in a row and I'm not usually much of a lettuce eater. I didn't get glutened - I pretty much felt ok other than the gi symptoms. I keep reading conflicting information about lettuce - low in fiber, so so in fiber, not good for IBS patients...
  22. Maybe chocolate will come back to you. It's only been one year. And then, what sweet reunion it will be!
  23. Hey thanks. I love visiting Montreal - hope you had a good time!

  24. Hi there. I saw that you visited me and I thought I'd check you out. I hope you are doing well. I just came back from a visit to Montreal where I only spoke a tiny bit of French.

  25. Here's a video showing how flour paste is used during the making of oak barrels. Judge for yourself how comfortable you are with this (considering most of us have thrown out our wood cutting boards and spoons). Gluten makes its appearance at 6:34: vimeo Also, here's a report measuring gluten in "gluten-fined" wine. I didn't even realize they ever...
