  1. I had some Riceland on Friday night, felt kinda crappy, and wrote it off to weather, then had the leftovers in my lunch yesterday, and now I feel like I did Friday/Saturday/Sunday AGAIN after being nearly normal yesterday. I'm not a super sensitive, but I've never had a reaction to Riceland before either... What kind of Riceland did you have? I had the Long...
  2. I've noticed that fibro symptoms seem to be popping up for me now that I'm gluten free. Take this weekend for example. I live in Michigan, so the weather is basically bi-polar. We went from cold and snowing, to 60 degrees and sunny, so 45 degrees and it sounding like a hurricane blowing outside for an entire day, all within a 3 day span. My body is aching...
  3. I've been gluten free now since early May and have noticed that when I do get glutened, I'm no longer sick for a week or so, I seem to shrug it off in 3-4 days, but when my symptoms appear, they are DRAMATICALLY worse. Take last night at dinner, for example, I ate some Cheetos, which had never made me react before, but around 1am I woke up nauseous, with...
  4. My best advice is this; DON'T LOSE HOPE! I'm about 7 months in, and I still, even as I'm writing this, have issues here and there. Once I was gluten free for about 4 months I got to where I was having a week, or even 2 straight where I had no symptoms, but then suddenly would feel it again. There's up's and down's, you just can't let the downs get to you...
  5. I made the move to gluten free in April of this year, and in that time have made HUGE strides. My intestines seem to have healed to the point where my lactose intolerance is reversing itself (ate 3 cheese sticks, a yogurt cup and a pudding cup yesterday with no Lactaid pill and had no ill effects). Most days I'm feeling 100%, though this week has been off...
  6. Well, I found the beer, and tried it. Sadly, I felt it was only ok. Bard's is still the king of gluten free's in my mind. PLUS Estrella gave me very minor gluten symptoms 2 days or so after I drank it.
  7. I hated New Grist... The after taste was terrible.
  8. Nope, I haven't tried either... There's no Total Wine locations near me, and their website sucks ass. There is one local store that has a ton of foreign beer and wine though, so I'm gonna go look this weekend. Everyone is saying Estrella is expensive, but according to BevMo it's $7.99 for a 6 pack... That's not too bad.
  9. I saw a thread about Estrella Damm Daura, but still had a question... Has anyone on here actually reacted to it? I'm trying the different gluten free beers to see what I like best, which is difficult because they're hard to find. So far I like Bard's the best, closely followed by Redbridge. I wanna try Estrella if I can find it, but I wanna make sure no one...
  10. I haven't had a bite of gluten in about 2 months now. I'm feeling some slight gluten symptoms, but the only thing wrong with me is my seasonal allergies. I'm 100% positive I've had no gluten, nor any cross-contamination, I've been being hyper vigilant about it. I read somewhere that seasonal allergies can cause gluten-like symptoms, but wasn't sure of the...
  11. I just called the Claritin information line and they told me that ALL Claritin except the Fast Tabs are gluten free.
  12. I take Ecotrin aspirin, and it works fine. I emailed the company about 3 months ago to ensure it was gluten free, I lost their response, but I take it all the time with no issues. That's the only pain reliever I know that's gluten free for sure. I've heard Advil is too, but I'm not sure.
  13. I eat Lay's 2 or 3 times a week, and have NEVER had an issue with them. The regular Lay's potato chips and the wavy potato chips say right on the bag that they are gluten free, as well as on their website. It doesn't say those chips you had are gluten free, just don't contain gluten ingredients, so cross-contamination is obviously an issue, so you're kind...
  14. It's allergy season for a lot of us (for me at least because of ragweed) and I was wondering if anyone knows a good gluten free allergy medication? I saw a thread about Claritin but it's from 2006/2007 so I'm assuming it's outdated, and I can't find any information on their website...
  15. About a week ago, I was glutened, and was over my symptoms and back to normal feeling, aside from a few body aches yesterday. Being that I was feeling better, I decided to move back to normal life, how I would have been pre-glutening (before being glutened I was completely gluten-free for about 4 months). So I made up a batch of margaritas a few hours ago...
  16. That stuff is crack in a little tiny jar... It's AMAZING.
  17. This may be totally unrelated to how I felt, but maybe some of you folks have had the same experience. Last week, I was off my multi-vitamins (I kept forgetting to run out and by more after I ran out), so when I got glutened, I was without vitamin supplements for 5 days straight, then I ate the spicy food the next day (Saturday), still with no vitamin supplement...
  18. I didn't get glutened from the spicy food, I got glutened, felt sick, got better enough to function and then ate spicy food.
  19. I've been gluten free now for 4-months, with only minor hiccups. Friday evening I got some gluten in me, though I have no idea where from. I'm guessing cross-contamination. I felt bad for about 4 hours yesterday, then rebounded, and like a fool ate some spicy food last night at dinner (previously spice hadn't bothered me, so I didn't think I'd react adversely...
  20. One day later, and I am back to normal, which means it wasn't gluten. When I get glutened, I am sick for at least 3 or 4 days. Caffeine was the issue, I do believe.
  21. I'm sorry you have issues with caffeine too, least I know it's not just me though. I'm feeling better, been about 8 hours since the symptoms started, which is in line with about how long caffeine stick in your system.
  22. I have their site bookmarked on my iPhone so I don't have to worry and I verified that the chips I ate were gluten free before I ate them. Furthermore, I've ate those chips (Lay's Potato Chips, nothing fancy, just the regular ones) many many times since going gluten free and have never had an issue. I also know it to be a caffeine issue as I've suspected...
  23. I had a totally gluten free lunch (grilled chicken, lay's potato chips, and pepsi) and am having some issues. I've been almost 100% caffeine free for about 4 months now, so the pepsi was the first real measurable amount of caffeine I've had. I know Lay's potato chips are gluten free, and there was nothing on the grilled chicken. That leaves caffeine. Anyone...
  24. I found this really helpful, hopefully someone else will too. It should just download the PDF of the article if you click the below link. Open Original Shared Link
  25. Just remember not to let the diet get you down, there's a lot of creative ways you can make it not feel so awful. I wish you both nothing but the best with it, and if you ever need to vent to someone who's been there, feel free to drop me a message
