  1. It is a flourless brownie. I can't stand it personally, it is way too rich for me. I have never had a (gluten) reaction to it though. My kids like to get it, especially my oldest boy who is addicted to chocolate! I expect that the recipe is a lot like the one Vincent posted a link to.
  2. Dear Ashley, Thanks for visiting our website. In reference to your inquiry concerning the gluten content in our products, I have listed below the products which have been tested and do not contain detectable levels of gluten. The following McNeil products have been tested and do not contain detectable levels of gluten: Children's TYLENOL...
  3. Let me know what you think. I wrote this one late night ago. It's untitled. Many a picture has a frame, simple and plain It can't in no way surpass what it contains Boxed in four panels, much like a room Condensed to one are with no space to move Stiff and still it will be, just as it will for eternity Time shares its burden, morphing attributes...
  4. Ahh, finally first good day after my freakin' sinus surgery. My stomach's upset (no one than usually), 'side from that, I'm pretty good. I have a second post-op visit with the doctor who did my sinus surgery at Vandy this Tuesday. Hopefully, he'll release me so I can finally start exercising again. It gets pretty boring takin' it easy. I've also started...
  5. Okay, I finally got caught up reading all 16 pages of posts! I did a little research and according to the summary of the show on Fox.com House questions the other docs on the "polystyrene treatments", and they figure out it is the wheat starch binder...So I googled polystyrene and came up with what I believe might answer our questions here. Open Original...
  6. They can tell you if you have a gluten intolerance, and they can tell you if you have the Celiac genes, or gluten intolerance genes, but they do not diagnose you with Celiac. They are a lab run by a doctor, but they do not give out a diagnosis, only test results. Some people have taken their results in to their doctor and gotten and official daignosis....
  7. I thought the same thing when I heard that the celiac episode was on the 9th and that this weeks episode was pt 1 of 2. So I checked the TV schedule. It is definitely airing two nights in a row. But if you plan to watch it tonight make a note of the fact that tonight it is on at 9pm, but tomorrow it is on at 8pm. The American Idol results show is always...

    ARCHIVED Hi

Hi Lani, Welcome to the board! I'm not a teenager, but I do have a son who is coming up on that age! Don't worry about the capitalization, grammar or spelling or how you might choose to shorten a word to make it easier to type...most of us here on the board just read right past any errors (whether they are intentional or accidental). I don...
  9. No kidding Rusla! I love the show and watch it anyhow, but I was starting to think it was just a rumor...
  10. I've been glutened by contaminated fresh fruit twice. Once was strawberries and once was grapes. With the strawberries it ended up that the tops were sliced off on a wooden cutting board on which sandwiches had been cut earlier and then merely wiped clean with a cloth. Not only did this gluten us, but it also was a little disgusting to think that...
  11. Hi lushgreen, Here is my opinion on what the difference is between someone with gluten sensitivity and celiac - absolutely nothing! You still need to be gluten free for life, and you also need to be aware of the risks if you do eat gluten. You are just as suseptible to all the dangers to your body (other diseases, cancer, etc.) if you stay on gluten...
  12. Hi Sparkles, I really need to share this story with you... One of my closest friends has Celiac (although it continues to be undiagnosed) AND had the gastric bypass surgery. See she wouldn't admit to herself that she really had Celiac, even though her grandma had it and her daughter has it. She only had the DH rash, although it was persistent wasn't...
  13. Vincent, If I didn't have the Enterolab tests to show I really had an issue with gluten, then I would probably be questioning myself about gluten too. Except when I did a 2 month gluten challenge a few years back I WAS dairy free and still had horrible reactions to gluten! Also I can tell the difference between a gluten reaction and a dairy reaction...
  14. Vincent, I'm glad you finally got to try the Vance's DariFree. And Happy Belated Birthday! One thing that I have found is not to try drinking the DariFree straight unless it is very chilled. I don't like it as chocolate milk either, but I do like the Blue Diamond Almond Milk Chocolate flavored drink. It is so smooth and chocolatey! That is what I drink...
  15. Hi Stacie, I was just thinking the same about you. I've been here, but just not having the time to post very often. It has been crazy this year. I'm doing well on the Gluten-free Casein-free diet. This is the first week in the past 6 months that my tummy has been calm and I haven't hardly needed the digestive enzymes. I do miss cheese the most...
  16. Yes I did find some support "buddies". I am on my 4th day now Gluten-free Casein-free. I am doing fine. My belly is quiet again. Today for lunch I had chicken tacos with avocado instead of cheese. It is a similar texture to melted cheese and so it fits the bill for most foods, except italian. Pasta and pizza are just not the same without...
  17. Vincent, if you get terribly desperate for "milk" in your cereal that you can get at Kroger then you can get Mocha Mix (original), and water it down until it tastes like thin cream. It works in a pinch, but you don't want to do it for long term because it is mostly chemicals... I think I did 2 parts water to 1 part MM.
  18. I just looked at the Trader Joes lists for East Coast and West Coast and it is on both lists. It might have soy in it, but it appears to be gluten and dairy free. For me it shouldn't be a problem, because the soy is in the form of lecithin and my soy allergy does not react to the oils only the protein.
  19. I want to try that Sharon's Coconut Sorbet also. I hope they have it at Whole Foods next time I go in. I am already figuring out how I can keep it frozen for the 1 1/2 hour drive home. Vincent, Vance's DariFree is a potato based milk alternative. You can check it out here: Open Original Shared Link I wouldn't spend the money on the chocolate...
  20. The rice dream beverage does contain barley, but some of the frozen treats don't. Vincent, I am in the same boat as you. I was dairy free for 14 months and had much improved health. I went back on dairy right before Easter last year, and for a while I thought I was okay. About 6 months ago I admitted to myself that I wasn't and it took me this long...
  21. We use Pamela's and can get it at Whole Food's. But we also love the Kinnikinnick mix and get that whenever we place an online order. Both are great.
  22. Okay, that makes sense. I don't think I could handle that at all. I did a diet similar to that that eliminated virtually all grains/starchy carbs, dairy and sugars. It was only lean meats and eggs, non-starchy veggies and certain fruits that were low in natural sugars (like berries and such), and I could also have most kinds of nuts. I had a hard...
  23. I cannot digest beef or pork. I haven't been able to for years. We almost never buy pork, just the occasional bacon or ham that the kids like. I only eat bacon/ham a few times a year when we eat away from home. I limit myself on both the frequency and serving size of the beef. I use digestive enzymes when eating either. It is a pain to eat this way...
  24. Is there anyone here who would consider being my gluten free/dairy (casein) free online buddy. I need support for it because my kids are not planning on being dairy free again anytime in the future and so the cheese/ice cream/milk will still be in the house. So far I haven't been able to stick to it. I reduced my consumption, but have not stuck to eliminating...
  25. I read the letter with the link provided and I am confused. Is the letter writer suggesting that Dr. Green put his patients on the SCD diet instead of the gluten-free diet or in addition to the gluten-free diet? I have head many people who had great success witht he SCD diet and others who were made worse by it, so I cannot say it is the solution for...
