  1. Yeast is good for milk supply but I think you need more than what you'd find in bread to have good supply from that alone. Are you drinking beer at all? Or peanuts? I know peanuts can help with milk supply. (I fed my daughter for 3 years and know a lot about breastfeeding and milk supply)
  2. I have to make a pack for cyclone season. What do you put in a disaster pack if you live in an area prone to natural disasters? We are lucky in that our house is always safe and dry but we often lose power for up to a month and we are flooded into our street for up to a month at a time too. Usually our crops are destroyed from either wind or rain....
  3. We live in an area prone to floods and cyclones. We were hit by Cyclone Yasi earlier this year and Larry passed through a couple of years back. This will be the first year that I'll have to make sure we have a lot of the right type of food whereas in the past tinned spaghetti was enough to see us through. My LO won't eat the Orgran spaghetti and has never...
  4. I know you have a baby and a new job but is there any chance you can move out soon-ish? I think that's your best bet TBH.
  5. It took about 4 months for my little girl to feel better after being gluten free but now she's on top of the world! They told us it could take up to 12 months but because she's so young and because we had a diet of mainly rice and fresh vegetables anyway the damage wasn't too severe so it didn't take her as long to feel better.
  6. Maybe a stew tonight in the slow cooker. It's so cold here so my child is only having her breakfast now at 9:30 lol. Will make a loaf of bread to have with it too.
  7. I do not have Coeliac disease but my little girl has it so I've found out so much about it and have been able to help many other people. Her friend's father was recently diagnosed with it so they came around to learn about what we cook and how we cook it and learnt all about cross contamination. We have no local support roup specifically for this where...
  8. We had a stir fry tonight. Lots of veges with some fruit and nuts in it. Yummy! Finished cleaning up the kitchen now heading off to bed. Early start tomorrow for work
  9. Can he cut it out? My whole family is now gluten free since my daughter is.
  10. We're in rural northern Australia so no luck there.
  11. We can't have Tacos anymore because I cannot find any gluten free taco shells anywhere at all :/
  12. Lentils, chickpeas and spinach are our 3 faves in this house! We are vegan and gluten free but not low carb. We've been vegan for a very long time except when I was pregnant about 8 years ago I had egg and my almost 8 year old has always been vegan and is the resident coeliac but the whole house is gluten free to not make her sick. We stick with whole...
  13. Rice porrige with sugar. Watermelon and honeydew melon. Apple and cinnamon pancakes. My child likes a big breakfast before a long day at school lol.
  14. I have mine at a private school and they have an A4 page on the wall of the classroom and in the office with her photo on it and that she has Coeliacs and what it means and what to do if she gets glutened. It has my numbers and the number of her paediatrician and gp too. They are vigilant about it at her school along with nut allergies and various other...
  15. We'll have a roast vege lasagne tonight
  16. Hmm I actually don't know anyone who would need to buy gluten free or vegan cupcakes but what I meant was do you think that's too much to ask considering most people won't have a need for them to be gluten free and could buy a 70c packet mix from the supermarket?
  17. Not really for me but for my dd who tested positive about 6 month ago now: My dd put on weight and is no longer sick all the time. In semester 2 last year she had 25 days off school but in semester 1 of this year she's been late 10 days due to appoinments but only had 7 days off in total and 2 of those were for hospital appoinments that take all day...
  18. Ah ok I have a fully gluten free kitchen. I've been vegan since 1980 apart from a few eggs in pregnancy in 2002 as well We are fully gluten free ourselves and my mum is on her way to being gluten free too (only her bread isn't) and my brother is becoming gluten free for my daughter to be able to go there safely
  19. I'll have to think about cooking soon I suppose...
  20. Syndian Asian Bean and Kumera bites with roast pumpkin, sweet potato, carrot and zucchini, mash potato, steamed broccoli and cauliflower, and corn on the cob
  21. I'm not a baker. My time is donated but it's the only thing I can afford to donate so I only have to cover what I use and look to make a little bit extra. I'm glad it's not too high though! I think I'm thinking more for people who don't need gluten free that it seems high compared to non-gluten free cupcakes.
  22. Thanks. We have a few things on the go at the moment including one-off donations that are tax deductable and a numbers board where people can buy a number on a board of 100 for $2 each then whichever number we draw the person on that number wins $100 with the other $100 going to the C ancer Co uncil in my area. They have been a success and we have a raffle...
  23. I'm not sure where you are but Eagle Boys here are all fully gluten free apart from a couple of the sauces they use on specific pizzas. You can have the cheeseless too if you can't have milk either. I'm not sure how to handle the family because I'm the only other one here with my 7yo so it was easy to make the whole house gluten free when she went gluten...
