  1. I am not a doc but I don't understand why she wanted you to wait til you have been on a gluten-free diet to start supplements?? I had hair loss but I didn't wait for doc to tell me what I needed to take for supplements, as I would still be waiting at this point unfortunately. BioSil drops will help a great deal but make sure you get some zinc, B complex,...
  2. Thanks for the responses, all wonderful thought!
  3. Your brain fog just might be from the awful glutening rather than a vitamin deficiency. It makes a person feel terrible, causing the rest of the issues you mentioned. Have you had any blood tests run for vits and mineral levels? Don't feel like a loon. I was such a mess 8 months ago, could not think, was barely functioning, was terribly confused what...
  4. I am not up on technology so please excuse this question if it seems silly. How do you get your medical records into the USB, or is it an access to the medical records themselves? I understand a USB is. Was this something your doc agree too? Would I have to get my doc to do this for me? I like this idea.
  5. Yummy pork ribs fresh from the grill, baked potatos and a green salad!!
  6. The last couple posts pose some very interesting thoughts especially if gender and age make a difference. It seems, from what I have read of other posts here that there may be that connection.
  7. Bea, thank you. I will pass on this info for my daughter to try.
  8. Bea, thanks for the heads up on the Borage oil. I will let you know how this combo works for me. I have not tried the No Fenol like products. I am taking sulpher in hopes to relieve the buzzing in my ears. It had it stopped for awhile and then came back on my supplements and the buzzing came back. I didn't cut back on the sulpher so I am not sure it was the...
  9. Whey is a cheese protein.
  10. Goodness it is hard to have hopes for an answer only to seemingly chase your tail once again but this doesn't mean you can't go gluten-free and that could be what you need to get your health back. I spent 7 months having numerous tests done without any resolve. Once I went gluten-free, I had my answer no matter whether it was celiac or not. Do what is best...
  11. I take biotin drops which work great for nails and hair and are supposed to help protects bones from fractures.
  12. In case anyone might be interested there is a another discussion going on in Super Sensative Celiacs about ataxia and nuero issues that you guys might find helpful.
  13. Very interestiong to know that your daughter's tests were showing normal B12 levels when infact they were being dumped, lucky find on that. I have seen several post in this forum where they were describing B12 deficiency symptoms and yet the poster said their tests were fine. I wonder if this is a common problem, and if that is the case I really feel for...
  14. I have read articles like this that don't give much hope for a full recovery but I am still pressing forward and feel postive for improvement!!! Interesting though the connection to wheat and damage to nerves.
  15. I never thought of it in this way, that the glutens could actually be attacking the nervous system rather than the villa being damaged by glutens which then was causing malabsortion which lead to nerve damage. Before I went gluten-free my blood calcium levels were hyper (above normal) and docs thought I had parathyroid disease. When I went off glutens my...
  16. Shauna, this has been a big issue for me. 8 months now with off-balance and have been glute-free for 6 months. I read and keep reading, I have experimented trying to find a solution. This is what I have come up with. If I have any gluten I will be dizzy for a minimum of 3 weeks and there is very little I can do to speed up that process. It does getting...
  17. Mine is the same. When I first got the diagnosis she was all excited that finally I had an answer and I thought that meant he was onboard. Then when friends would ask HE would tell them that "we" weren't sure, that maybe the liver detox I did several months ago still had my system messed up. WHAT? I then just tell our friends that I was diagnosed with celiac...
  18. I was tested in the lab with a regular blood test. The nuero issues with Lyme disease, MS, hypercalcemia just to mention a few are very similiar. I went thru all the testing as docs were trying to figure out why I was having such issues. I live in an area where we do have tick problems and infact one of my neighb ors had Lyme disease several years back so...
  19. One more thing I did want to add. Think twice about the antidepressants. Reason being is they have an nerve deadening agent in them. Some docs treat people with nuero issues with antidepressants for this reason however, that does nothing to resolve any nuero issues. Nuero issues need proper nutrition, vitamins and mineral. Thought I would throw that in incase...
  20. My adult daughters went gluten-free before me and I have to admit I did not understand then. It took going thru it all myself to really understand. It's kind of like your mom telling you that she has diabetes. You know something about diabetes, it's a well known disease but then you would ask yourself what it really meant and probably find you knew little...
  21. Sometimes I really wonder about docs!!! :-) yes, you can be overweight and have celiac. It's the body's reaction to trying to survive because you are not getting enough nutrients. This runs in my side of the family. When you then go on gluten-free diet and the body starts healing and absorbing nutients you may find that you will start losing weight. Not...
  22. Thanks Caroline and Bea for the info!
  23. Muscles are hard and they can't loosen up? I take the burpless Omega 3/6/9 for that and helps wonders. Someone else here suggested it to me and I find it really does work. Hopefully the spasma will stay away being off caesins but if you find that's not the fix, magnesium might help.
  24. For the nuero issues I am taking a B Complex called WSN Nerve Support. B12 wasn't enough and the coenzyme B complex didn't work as well as the nerve support for my symptoms.
  25. Searching today I found some info about various products that can ease neuro issues and was wondering if anyone has tried any of the following? L-carnitine (I do take this which I contribute to helping my pins and needles feeling) Alpha Lipoic acid Gamma Linolenic acid (GLA, also known as Borage oil) Chromium this combination taken with magnesium...
