  1. I was just at a festival booth doing some volunteer time when I discovered another who had celiacs. She was diagnosed when she was 2 and now is 30ish. She said she was in the hospital from 2 until 4 many times. They didn't know much about Celiacs then or where gluten was found. It was pretty much trial and error. She said she has outgrown it! They...
  2. Has anyone else been told that sprouted wheat should be okay? I was just talking with a co-worker yesterday and she told me there is no protien in the sprouts. I know nothing about this. I didn't even know that wheat grew sprouts. I thought only beans and rotten potatoes did! I am not a very good chef! LOL. Any thoughts or experiences?

  4. I am wondering if someone can give me some insight on celiac disease. I struggle with people not understanding that celiac disease is for life. I recently had my gallbladder out. I cannot even tell you how many people (not drs) tell me that I should now be cured!! It took a while to try to explain celiac disease to my friends/family and now I am starting...
  5. Does anyone know if the Mary Kay cleansers are gluten-free?
  6. I just wanted to see if I can put some light on this subject. I was diagnosed 12/03 with a positive biopsy followed up with a positive blood test. I thought I had a great doctor that checked me for celiac disease with only going on that I had reflux. Since reading this board over a month or two, I now realize I didn't have a great doctor. He told...
  7. I am having my gallbladder out on May 9. I had an ultra sound on it April 19 which revealed a polyp. I saw the surgeon on April 27. The surgeon said the surgery was not based on the fact that I have a polyp but that I have a constant dull pain in my back & side. I also have a sharp pain in my front under my ribs. In the meanwhile, I am to stay away...
  8. Just to add one more thing... You need him to eat gluten if you are going to have him tested. If you have him on a gluten-free diet before testing, you will not have accurate results. Good luck!
  9. OOPS! Sorry Kaiti not Katie!!
  10. Hey there! I am a newbie but wanted to kick in some support. I sent a bunch of emails out to the places that Katie listed. Hopefully someone will hear something! I live near Milwaukee. There was a big article in the paper in past years about celiacs. They were referencing the Gluten Free Trading Company here in Milwaukee. It will be exciting to see...
  11. Progresso Cream of Mushroom is gluten-free. Not as thick as Campbell's but it is Cream of Mushroom. I use it for my roasts in a crock pot.
  12. I'm from between Milwaukee & Madison Wisconsin!!
  13. Hi all- I have read some of the past postings about gallbladder problems. However, I only saw 1 person that had polyps vs stones. I just had an ultrasound and they found a 7mm polyp. I had an ultrasound 1 1/2 years ago when I was diagnosed w/celiac disease and had no polyps. I go to see the surgeon in 2 days to talk about taking out my gallbladder...

    ARCHIVED Dr. In Milwaukee?

Hi Jenni- I am new to this forum or I would have replied sooner. I live out towards Oconomowoc, Wi. I go to Medical Associates in Waukesha off of Hwy J. My doctor is Dr. Yantis. I was diagnosed 1 1/2 years ago because I had acid reflux. He sent me for an EGD to look for ulcers. They did a biopsy of my small intestine while they were in there. That...
