  1. I don't have much time to read all replies right now... I just wanted to add something. I just ordered from Market Day. I haven't tried it yet, but they have frozen omletes. You said your son can't have eggs, but if it was frozen and you could just take to work, that might work for you?? Good luck!
  2. Seeing as how House is a drama and not a advocate for Celiac, I was excited that they did a show on it!! I was doubtful last year when the rumor mill started that there might be a celiac episode. I thought it was way to run of the mill for that show. The thing I did like is this.. Everyone asks me why I can't take vitimans/medicine to make my stomach...
  3. I have heard that Tess's on the Eastside has a gluten free menu. It is supposed to be great! I have yet to get there. Zin in Delafield is an Italian rest. but I used to work there. They are very familliar with Celiac. They know that they can't grill the salmon, they have to put it in a sautee pan. She could have the standard pan sautee salmon or...
  4. I had all of those symptoms AFTER going gluten-free. It was so bad last October that I went on Lexapro. I haven't had any since. I chalked it up to anxiety. I do agree that if your tests were positive, you need to go gluten-free. You may not even know some of the things that are going on with you until you go gluten-free and feel like what life...
  5. To be honest, I am glad this is on the list!! Yes, it is a lifestyle for us not by choice, but if you think about it, the more people are demanding gluten free, the more options we have!! I am all for better tasting foods at various places!! I was glutened this weekend for the first time in a long time. I was at a hotel and ate an egg & cheese omlete...
  6. I am not sure if the GI would be the one. I went to my GYN because it is directly related to the menstrual cycle. Good Luck!
  7. Thank you Robbin!! I know she does get 3 injections a day. I also know she is all over with her numbers. That is why she went in again for tests. I am going to give her mom this website too. She has 3 older brothers that are in a lot of sports. She travels a lot with them. That is going to take some time to get used to too. After the initial shock...
  8. I am looking for some good resources for a friend of mine. Her daughter was diagnosed w/ type 1 diabetes a year ago last March. She hasn't grown or gained weight in 6 months. Her blood tests came back last Friday as positive for Celiac. Her dr. wants her to go in for a biopsy. I will talk with her more this afternoon. She just dropped off her dd here...

    ARCHIVED Las Vegas

I can't think of anything besides PF Changs right now. I do know there was a topic posted about gluten-free places in Las Vegas. Good Luck!!

I am not looking for people to tell me this isn't good for me.... I am looking to see if anyone knows if there is gluten in it. I can't seem to find any info right now. I might not be looking in the right places. So, if you know if there is or is not gluten in it, I would love to hear from you!! Thanks!
  11. I'd also ask how they make the sangria. My friend has a great recipe that has lemonade or rasp lemonade in it. You just need to watch out for that. Jen, YUCK!! That gives me the creapies just thinking that could happen anywhere!!
  12. My left temple twitches for about a week. It is very obnoxious! My second thing is my stomach gurguling. I just don't like that feeling. That lasts for a few days too.
  13. Things may have changed since I used to work there... but I would NEVER eat the salad. There is a HUGE risk of CC. It is set up as a buffet. Salad is first in a big chiller. Then then there is a long section that houses the veggies, (blk olives, toms, onion) CROUTONS, and dressing. Our favorite thing to do was pull out the croutons that had falledn in...
  14. This is not about meal ideas.... But I must say, how sad for the Girl Scouts that can't eat the cookies!!! That used to be a "holiday" in my book! I really miss the cookies! Maybe they could come up with a gluten free cookie! Good luck with the trip. I think the suggestions given are great ones!!

OH MY GOSH!!! You so put me back in a good mood!! I went on a cruise the end of January. We stopped at Ocho Rios. I live in Wisconsin, so the weather there was a NICE break. I am actually sitting here now having a pina colada with Appleton Rum!!! We are supposed to get 6-8 inches of SNOW Thursday. I called my cruise buddy and vented that we need to...
  16. I have a cronic pain where my right kidney would be. I saw the dr for it and they took out my gallbladder. It is still happening now though. I don't think it was my gallbladder!! I don't know what's going on. My dr doesn't seem to be too worried about it. It is a dull pain, not sharp pain.
  17. IMO, if you want a diagnosis, do the testing first. If you cut gluten out of the diet, testing will be negative even if he has celiacs. You will need to put him back on gluten for the testing to be accurate. The problem with that is.... if he is doing well on a gluten free diet and then you reintroduce it, he may be misserable which will make you miserable...
  18. Please post about Cook's if you contact them. I think that is what I usually use too. I'll have to check at the store today. I would be so sad if I couldn't have corned beef!
  19. It just takes time for your body to heal. If you have only been gluten-free for 4 days, that is probably why. When I gluten myself, I am gassy for days. Everytime I eat, I rumble. Give it time and it should pass. (No pun intended! ) Good luck!
  20. Hi Kim, I have a lot of the same issues. I am on Seasonale for my period. I am also on Lexapro. I would like to go off of it though. I am ALWAYS tired. I just had my thyroid tested and got the results yesterday. Apparently all is well. I feel like there is something stuck in my throat where your thyroid is though. I plan to talk to my doctor...
  21. Other than that, all I can say is that McDonald's is trying, and they're making more of an effort than many other restaurants (or psuedo-restaurants) in trying to accommodate. No one is perfect, least of all a multinational corporation.
  22. Seeing as they have now stated that the fries are gluten free, I think it is now a personal opinion. It, in my eyes, is not different than those that choose to drink grain liquors. You know that they were once grain, but are assuming that the distillation process has removed the grain substance. I think that you need to give credit to this professor that...
  23. Hello and Welcome!!! I am the "friend with tics" from jnifred. I do find that my tics or twiches are worse when I have eaten gluten. It is in my left temple and now starting to affect my left eye. I thought I was going nuts when it first started happening. My doctor couldn't answer me. I am not sure that it is visible to the eye, but I do know when...
  24. I tried this last year about this time. I am not coordinated enough to breath and make your muscles move the way they want you to. I spent more time laughing at myself then getting a workout. Although, laughing is good for you too!!! Good luck! I hope you get an instructor that can help you figure out how to do it all at the same time. Everyone...
  25. Yikes!! Deep breath in and out all the way!! I have never seen as much tension as McD's has brought. AND I DON"T GET IT! It will be okay as soon as they figure it all out. A corporation of their size is bound to make a mistake or two. The people behind the golden arches are just that... people . They are allowed to be human and try to figure...
