  1. Really? that's great! My nail techs use Opi and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to go to them any more. You just made my day.
  2. I found a brand at my local grocery store called Puffins. They have cereals and bars and a few other things. They say wheat free, but I don't know if they are gluten free as well. Does anyone here eat that brand? They look really good. I did notice in the ingredients list that it has oat flour. Is oat flour a no-no for celiacs? I've read so much concerning...
  3. Sounds good! Where would I find the muffins and that particular bread?
  4. For all of you that suggested Chebe, can it be purchased in a store, or just ordered online? Thanks!
  5. Does anyone have a good recipe for making pizza crusts, or does anyone know of a really good mix for pizza crusts? Thanks!
  6. Julie, thanks so much! I have a Frys (kroger) across the street from me. I will look there for the soup. Also, thanks gfinnebraska for the rice krispy recipe. I made them and they turned out great! My daughter even ate a piece of one! Julie, I look forward to the other recipes! I wrote all the ones down that you posted so far and plan...
  7. same here. I looked everywhere for the progresso cream of mush soup, but can't find it. is there a good substitute? Also, Julie, in another post you made a comment about making chocolate rice krispy treats with cocoa pepples and marshmallows. Okay, being the brain-dead cook I am, I need more instruction than that. do I melt the marshmallows first...
  8. Thanks Julie! I found it!

  11. Julie, I am totally brain-dead when it comes to cooking. Would you be willing to share some examples of the combinations of meat, potatoes, etc. that you use? i could really use some recipe ideas. Thanks!
  12. I didn't realize that you could have positive results when the child was so young. My daughter was tested at one year and at 18 months because she was so sick all the time. Plus we had other tests (blood tests and others) done even before that. Everything came back that she was just fine. her latest biopsy just came back positive. I would have put my...
  13. My daughter was diagnosed with celiac less than a month ago. She used to vomit 10 or more times a day since she was born. She is now 2 and a half. My doctor said it was because of relux which is a side-effect of the celiac disease. I have my daughter on medication to help control the vomiting until she gets better from being on the gluten-free diet for...
  14. could you let me know what you found out about their fruit snacks? I was looking at those and was going to place a call myself.
  15. Thanks so much for the advice. I have purchased the Vans waffles, but she wont eat those either. Its not just the gluten-free things that she won't eat. She just isn't eating, period. She won't eat normal foods that she used to chow down. Its like all of a sudden she has zero appetite. She doesn't ever even act hungry or ask to eat. Its very...
  16. aren't there other brands of bbq sauce that are gluten free? Is this brand just really good? I will call and complain for you, hahah, but I've never tried it. That's terrible that it contains gluten now.
  17. Motts if for sure gluten free. I called them a week ago and they told me all their juices and applesauces were fluten free.
  18. oooh, celiac3270, can I get a copy of that too? THANKS. smideb@hotmail.com
  19. Sara, you are not alone. My daughter is 2 and a half and was just diagnosed at the end of April. She used to eat so well and liked everything and always ate. But then she'd get sick and throw up or have diahrea. Now she is gluten-free for about 3 or 4 weeks and she just doesn't want to eat. I'm not sure if she is afraid of food, or if she just doesn...
  20. Okay, so I have a couple questions about lotions. I'm not the celiac- my 2 year old is. I dont put anything on her except for lubiderm which I heard was gluten-free. But how about my huge lotion collection that I use (if it smells good and comes in a pretty bottle then I have it) I have lots of Bath and Body works, some Victoria's secret, and some...
  21. my daughter was diagnosed with acid reflux in may 2004. the doctor put her on prilosec. she seemed to get better, then all of sudden, it got really bad. he doubled her dosage and it didn't seem to help. that's when he did another scope and took biopsys again. this time they came back positive for celiac. he said acid reflux is a "side effect" from Celiac...
  22. I asked this question somewhere else, but this is probably the correct place to ask it. Sorry. About the whole nail polish debate---what about if you just put it on the toe nails? I only paint my daughters toe nails so is it still a risk? Also, for other makeup, is it just important to get gluten-free foundations and powders, or also eye liner and eye...
  23. My daughter got a cut on her foot and I want to treat it with something. Does anyone know if Neosporin or first aid cream are gluten-free?
  24. is it a concern to put nail polish with gluten on it on the toes? It won't get in the mouth, but will it soak into the skin?
  25. I buy yoplait and blue bunny yogurt for my daughter. I have called the companies and they both are gluten-free.-- at least the flavors i called on which are strawberry, raspberry and peach.
