  1. I am beginning to think I am super sensitive. I am self-diagnosed, tested negative on the gene testing. Anytime I think I might try a new food labeled gluten free, it usually is ok maybe the first time, but by the third time, I am sick. I was silly enough to try a ham labeled gluten free, looked at their website, looked ok, so I had a slice last Monday...
  2. Try doing without dairy for a couple weeks. I have been gluten free for 3 years but thought I was a slow healer, not feeling completely recovered. Stopped dairy and I feel alomst 100 percent.
  3. Is she completely dairy free? Not just lactose intolerant, I had to go completely dairy free.
  4. Distilled vinegar bothers some us, including me. And that limits us even more in our food choices as distilled vinegar is used alot. I substitute cider vinegar for distilled, and have had no problems. I don't purchase anything with white or distilled vinegar in the ingredients.
  5. Yes, you can look forward to feeling great again...but it does take time. I had the energy of three people before I got sick, so having no energy just about did me in. I am a "dope", as I thought it was taking three years to get rid of all my symptoms, turns out that dairy was a contributing factor as well. Now that I have stopped dairy, plus the gluten...
  6. Maybe, sometime when you are not fighting or dealing with food, you may need to tell him you need his support. I have a problem thinking everyone is intolerant to gluten and I want everyone that I think has a problem, (including my husband) to quit eating that poison. And my husband thinks I am a little radical in my thinking, but is very supporative and...

    ARCHIVED Dairy

Yes, and it only took about 3 years to figure it out or maybe it wasn't a problem all that time, but I am now doing so much better! No more dairy, I have a lot more energy, sleeping good, no more itchy ears, and no more cracking rough skin on my fingers, no more uneasy stomach.
  8. Try cutting out Dairy. Even with the smallest amount of dairy, I am awake most of the night. I have been gluten free for almost three years, but thought I was still getting gluten as I was sleeping good most nights, but not every night. I also would have a upset stomach some days, but not everyday. I also would have rough cracking skin on my fingers...
  9. I am like you, just feeling like I was still getting gluten somehow, and I am extreme in what I put in my mouth. There was no possibility that I was getting gluten. I too have stopped the dairy, and I feel good! A lot more energy, completely normal stools, my ears are not driving me insane with itching, and the roughen areas on my fingers are improving...
  10. Might try elininating dairy. I always thought that dairy would be gut issues, but am finding out differently. I stopped dairy a couple weeks ago, thinking it might help another symptom, (cracking, rough skin on fingers) Have found that my sleep has greatly improved. It helped by going gluten free, but it is so much better without dairy.
  11. Well...back to square one! Have been completely off dairy, and have had new cracks almost everyday...so I am back to thinking it is gluten. I was glutened about 16 days ago and maybe this is the "aftermath". I have always treated it as Dh, going with the no iodine, but I have had bacon and am wondering about the salt in it. I sure wish someone would figure...
  12. Have you eliminated dairy? After three years of throwing out about everything, I thought I was still getting gluten, and I am extreme, I have my own garden, raise my own beef and chicken, hardly ever try anything processed. I discovered through this forum, that it may be dairy that is causing the remainder of my compliants. I thought the dairy would be...
  13. Wow! Hawthore may be on to something! The cracked skin on fingers may be due to Dairy! I ate a piece of Buttermilk loaf bread that I had baked and have two fresh cracks on my almost healed fingers. I have always thought dairy would be just gut problems. I am not much on dairy but there seems to be a pattern when I do eat it. The inside of my ears are...
  14. Those that have an intolerance to dairy have only the digestive issues or are there other symptoms, like skin, neuro, etc., as well?
  15. I would not let this disease rob you of anymore than what it already has! It has taken away your love for food, but I be darned if it would destroy my relationships with hubby or famiy, social situations. I just read another thread of how it has robbed a person of everything, so very sad. I am very sensitive, so I would not eat anyone's else dinner, but...
  16. Raven, I have been learning/lurking for the past three years, and when I see your posts, I know I can rely on what you have written. You will probably never know just how many people you have helped! Please know that I care, I have an 18 year old mutt dog that saved my life when my son was killed. I do have a supporting family, but it was that little...
  17. The gluten free labeled foods is where I get in trouble. My last glutening was when I tried the UTZ potato sticks, that are clearly labeled on front of canister, GLUTEN FREE. They are cc with other products they make. I have read that I can have a Snickers or Baby Ruth, but they make me sick. I can't eat Lay's of Frito's. I do eat Endangered Spieces chocalate...
  18. Greg, What sort of foot problem? The reason I ask is that I used to have Morton's Neuroma. It dissappearded with alot of other strange symptoms when I went gluten free 3 years ago. Sometimes, I feel like I have experienced all 300 symptoms! Everytime, I think I have developed some other intolerance, I usually find the culprit to be hidden gluten. I am...
  19. I have tried many recipes and the one I like best so far is one from Roben Ryberg. I printed it off the internet, (Buttermilk Loaf Recipe Food.com 40288) so I am sure you will be able to find it. It is not crumbly, it browns, and has good texture. The taste is pretty good as well. One thing I have found to make it better is to use a deeper narrow bread...
  20. I get it on the thumb and first two fingers of my right hand. Haven't figured it out exactly, but feel it is gluten related. The patches are now starting to fluff off, so I am in hope that it is because I am healing. I get the cracks when I get all the other lovely symptoms of being glutened.
