  1. Yes. I've had heart palpitations and chest pains in the past. Enough to get me a referral to a Cardiolologist who of course found nothing wrong with my heart It's only recently that I've suspected the link to Celiac and from what I've read on here, others have it too. Oh, and once I had chest pain really bad and was told I had pulled a muscle in my chest...
  2. I just wanted to add my hello I'm new here too. I'm going through the testing process now, but am off gluten for the time being for a few reasons. My thread is in this section if you wanted to read about it. I think the decision to go back on gluten for testing is a huge one. No one likes feeling sick, let alone intentionally making themselves sick for...
  3. Looking back, my major indicators something wasn't right was recurrent mouth ulcers (I'd get a new one every couple of weeks), extremely painful gas pains (I would catch myself not drawing a breath because it was so painful) and the bloating that goes along with it. But hindsight is also 20/20 and I think I can also attribute my intense growing pains in my...
  4. It was so good to sit down with a doctor, present all my symptoms and he took me seriously. I have taken a list of symptoms in once before to my old doctor and she smiled and told me it was a virus. Actually, when I think back, EVERY doctor I've seen has told me I have a virus. "Oh, it's probably a viral thing". My lovely GP didn't even mention the word...
  5. Hello I also think it's worth going to a doctor and requesting a full celiac panel. Once you explore that side of things, and if your results are negative, then you can always try a gluten free diet. It sounds like it may well benefit you! Good luck. I look forward to following your journey x
  6. I'm back from my doctor's appointment I wrote out a big list of all my symptoms, then we discussed the ones that worry me most and discussed the throat swelling. He advised blood tests for pretty much everything gastro/bowel related including a full celiac panel. I have an appointment with him again in 2 weeks to discuss my results and he will then refer...
  7. *huge hug* Ravenwoodglass. It was a life changing day. I have an appointment with my GP for this afternoon. I imagine he'll send me straight over for blood testing. Then it will be a waiting game for results I will raise the possibility of getting an endo done regardless of my blood test results though. I'd really like to know definitely. Even...
  8. I just read your thread and while I have no advice for you, I wanted to say that I hope you find out what is wrong soon. You sound very sick. I hope you're okay x
  9. I have been gluten free (I think) for 3 days now and feel like I'm going to throw up all the time. I don't want to eat anything and have aches, chills and extreme fatigue.
  10. Hello I'm new here too. I'm sorry you've been so sick, I definitely know the feeling. I haven't been diagnosed yet either, but from what I've read you will have to ingest gluten again for a while for the blood tests to show a positive reading. Someone correct me if that's wrong? It's awful that you've had a run around with doctors. Clearly many of them...
  11. I'm not touching wheat at all! My reaction, while not severe, was still frightening. I'm calling my GP as soon as they open this morning (I'm in Australia). I can guarantee he won't send me off for labs or anything unless he's seen me. I didn't think of loading up on gluten with barley or other sources, thanks I have no idea to be honest if I've been...
  12. Thankyou for your reply I've read I need to stay on gluten to be tested, but after my throat swelling I'm a bit scared to keep eating it. I'll talk it over with my GP and see what he thinks. If I need to go back on gluten I will, but carefully. Hopefully I won't need to go back on it for too long, I've only been avoiding it for a couple of days and there...
  13. Hi, I've just been reading your thread and the run around you're getting from doctors is insane! I'm so sorry and I hope you're finally on the road to getting a definitive answer x
  14. Hi there, I'm from the NT I just posted my introductory thread in the pre diagnosis section. I'm hoping I'm about to start on the road to recovery!
  15. Hello, I'm new to this forum I found you all while I was researching the symptoms I've been having. And I have to say, wow! What you all have to say is ringing so many bells for me. I haven't had any testing done yet, but after reading on here I'll be making an appointment tomorrow. Even though I'm sure it's all old news, I'll list my symptoms and I'd be...
