  1. Yep! So in summary.. 1) McDondals states there is wheat in their fries - VOLUNTARILY. 2) Some people who eat them have gluten reaction from them 3) Some people who eat them do not 4) A test was done on the fries, and with in the stated limits of the test they detected no gluten That is the full story as I know it. It is up to you...
  2. I know here in America McDondals list the fries as having wheat in them (on their allergy page), and I have plenty of posts from people that have eaten them and had a gluten reaction. I do not know if they use different recipe in Canada though. src: Open Original Shared Link
  3. Yes. I would encourage you to go down to walmart/cvs/walgreens/etc and pick up a glucose meter of your own. A store brand one is around $15 and they come with some test strips. Often with mail in rebates you get the meter free. Then I would suggest you fast over night, shoot for 8 hours. Check your reading, should be around 70-110 for fasting. Then...
  4. Little Joe spent NINE MONTHS in the rescue system because no one wanted him. They ended up basically paying us to take him in (we did not need that incentive, but did not turn it down either LOL). Want to know WHY no one wanted him? CAUSE HE IS NOT A PURE BRED!
  5. NO, too small... thing big... she got them after her pro boxing match which she was forced into while on an alien space while while defending the planet from those same aliens who wanted to poison the worlds water supply with gluten!
  6. Neither are we! He looks like a great prynese with one distinct difference...he is only 65 pounds (They are usually over 100). He kind of looks like he could be a mix of golden and somthing, but does not have the golden face at all.
  7. I wish I could disagree! After I posted that I realized we have never tried to go grain free with our dog, wonder it that might actually help his stomach issues.
  8. I typically eat burgers without bun since I am diabetic... but I do not have any issue with Gluten. My son does, and for now at least I just do not risk it with him. McD's and others of that caliber tend to higher teenagers and I have not seen any of those stores where I can say I was impressed with their food handling skills. I can not even begin to count...
  9. Oh, we know the drill. He had has several diet changes over the years. His stomach is not the greatest so we have had to switch around to find something that cut back on him puking on the carpet. (Note its NEVER the tile, or the hardwood... always the carpet! Grrr.) We have a big bin of food that Timothy normally scopes out 275 grams to feed our dog.
  10. I could see that if my dog had a problem with gluten, but its my son who takes care of him I am more concerned about. I think I will try the Blue Buffalo, since looks like PetSmart carries it. Not till the current 15 pound bag is gone though. Maybe.
  11. Do not see that one on PetSmart's web site. How big of a bag are you getting at $11?
  12. Anyone know of an American store I can get this from? I would like to try it before my son goes to long gluten-free for it to matter and ordering from UK/etc will just take to long in shipping. I am not putting my son back on gluten for this, but do want to try it.
  13. No need to apologize. You might want to get a good anti-virus scanner and scan your system. One like Avast, which has a free version, would be a good start: Open Original Shared Link
  14. So, in dog food world is "grain free" = gluten free? We have one PetSmart in town, and a couple smaller dealers. So if I go to petsmart.com and filter its dog food list by "grain free" any one of what comes up is an option? Is there anything less expensive that is an option? Looks like grain free is about double the price of grain full.
  15. If you plan to do the scope you can not go gluten free until after it. Based on the little information in this thread and my lack of a medical degree I think that after the scope you should go gluten free and see what happens, regardless of how the scope turns out.
  16. Definitely are.
  17. Baked goods, cookies, cakes, butter, margin, and many other things. You will have to read labels. This PDF from FAAN will help: Open Original Shared Link
  18. Karen.. I could be way off base, but I suspect he has some adware/etc on his computer instead of it being an issue with this forum.
  19. Karen, he said that they are showing up in HIS posts, that is different. That makes me think something on his computer is doing it rather then a spammer.
  20. I suggest you do exactly what the GI doc says. Go gluten free and see if you get better. It is not uncommon to read stories here like yours where a person had some traumatic experience (okay getting your body cut up and a living child pulled out of it seems pretty traumatic to me! ) that triggered Celiac in them. Unfortunately that means there is no turning...
  21. I am not seeing this behavior myself. Maybe you installed some software unintentionally on your end that did it? A tool bar in your web browser maybe?
  22. I am sorry if this got lost in the thread some place... but how long have you been gluten free for? Maybe you just have not healed enough yet. Some people on this forum taking months to years that it took them to get better.
  23. The elimination diet, IMO, is the best tool... but it is very tedious and time consuming to do correctly. An allergy test by a doctor could help save time on that.
  24. I think the visit to the dietician could be very helpful, but I have never seen one. In my experience, homeopath for food allergies is a poor choice, esply the NAET test as I said, and would suggest you see a more traditional allergy doctor.
  25. Enterolab who does gene testing for Celiac states in their FAQ that the gene test is not foolproof and some people are negative on the gene test and still have full blown Celiac. They also state in their FAQ that the only sure test is response to the diet. So my question for you is have you had any other tests? Have you tried going gluten-free, and...
