  1. Darn it, that sucks, but it does happen, and the good news is that you will never forget about Rice Krispie treats again! My daughter and I have been at this 6 months and we had a similar issue about a month ago with her symptoms coming back and me not knowing why. It turned out that HyVee had stocked the gluten-full Applegate Farms chicken tenders...
  2. I'm going to have to go with domesticactivist here and her nonpunitive suggestions. (Thank you for offering them!) I'm worried that any attempts to punish and/or control your son will naturally be met with resistance or rebellion. It is human nature; children are no different. His health will not be improved, and your relationship with him will be...
  3. Definitely know that you are not alone. I didn't feel the need to have the testing. I had already been through years of being poked and prodded and told that there was nothing wrong with me, that it was just "nerves." After eliminating gluten, I had no doubts whatsoever, and I certainly wasn't going to feel miserable again just so I could have confirmation...
  4. I don't know a lot about it, but I do know that they make CPAP machines specifically for travel that can also be used as the main home unit when not traveling. It's great that you guys are able to talk about it. Hope the strips and mouth guard work! Glad he'll be home soon!
  5. I'm not sure if ALL locations have a dedicated fryer for fries, so it would probably be a good idea to check with your location, but the ones I have gone to certainly have. Theirs are actually the only fast food fries I have eaten since going gluten-free -- never any problems. And yes, that discovery WAS exciting!
  6. This certainly couldn't hurt. Snoring can sometimes accompany sleep-disordered breathing -- apnea, noctural desaturation, etc. (which can be hard on the heart) which a sleep study could diagnose and a CPAP or BiPAP mask could fix. Some people don't tolerate these well, but some find that their quality of sleep is dramatically better. I imagine it would increase...
  7. Wow, thanks, Peter! We can always use one less thing to worry about!
  8. Congratulations on your marriage and your diagnosis! As far as CC goes, keep reading, especially this forum! I think it takes a few months to get everything lined out. Make sure you've replaced your cutting boards, rolling pins, toaster, etc. and that your kitchen has been cleaned with respect to places flour may have settled over the years. Consider everything...
  9. Obviously this will depend on what country you are in, but Stemetil is a brand name for prochlorperazine. At least in the US/Canada, prochlorperazine is also available as brand names Apo-Prochlorperazine, Compazine, Compro, and Nu-Prochlor. It may also be available as a generic. Any of these forms would contain the same active medication but may have different...
  10. We buy Old Wisconsin. Gluten free and no MSG.
  11. I think we're missing the bigger picture here. These sites/organizations are protesting to maintain the freedom of the internet. Think about this . . . on this forum, we often talk about self-diagnosed medical conditions. What happens if some bureaucrat decides it's unsafe? That we are disseminating unapproved information that is unsanctioned by the modern...
  12. I wrote to Nestle encouraging them to remove wheat starch as an ingredient in the Carnation Instant Breakfast powders (as they now ALL contain it according to the labels). I'm not really sure what to make of their reply. It sounds as if they are listing wheat starch as an ingredient but that ingredient is no longer present(?), which is baffling, not to mention...
  13. Since going gluten-free, I have switched to New Chapter Organics whole foods vitamins (non-GMO). Now that I am pregnant, I am taking Perfect Prenatal (a multivitamin) and Wholemega Prenatal (fish oil) for DHA. Since I can't have dairy, I also take their Bone Strength Take Care for (plant-sourced) calcium which also contains D3, magnesium, K1, and K2. According...
  14. I am pregnant and recently had to do this research myself. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link The latest study I have found, referenced in both of the above articles, suggests 4000 IU daily. Vitamin D Council states that pregnant women need at least 5000 IU daily. Open Original Shared Link Hope this helps!
