  1. How long did you avoid dairy before reintroducing it and were you successful? I've been officially gluten free since April but semi gluten-free since the beginning of the year (had to go back on for a challenge). I'm at the point I need to admit dairy is causing issues. I was in denial and ate gluten free pizza last night (don't worry - not dominos)...
  2. I re-glutened for the biopsy as I am much like you and wanted the confirmation plus I wanted to find out if anything else was going on (ulcers, etc). I had only been gluten free for approx 7 weeks prior to the biopsy. I only ate gluten for about 2 weeks and not in abundance and introduced it very slowly. I had my favorites (beer, some crusty bread) but...
  3. No, I'm still eating dairy. Maybe I'm in denial but I've felt so bad the last couple days it sure sounds like it's worth a shot.
  4. I've been officially gluten free since 4/20. I started gluten free in early January but had to do a challenge for the bloodwork and endoscopy. I was feeling a lot of improvement before the gluten challenge with no withdrawal symptoms. Now abut 6 weeks into being 100% gluten free I'm feeling terrible (awful sinus headaches, and nausea seems to be coming...
  5. I think you deserve a gluten free doughnut. I am excited for you!
  6. So sorry you're feeling down. I keep telling myself this will become the new normal in due time for not just myself but my family as well. I'm also waiting for that day because I still seem consumed by it.
  7. I also vote for Udi's for sandwiches! I tasted some Breads by Anna over the weekend at a gluten free vendor fair and may try making some of those as they were quite tasty.
  8. My family and friends had a blast at tha Baltimore Making Tracks for Celiac 5k. The gluten-free vendor fair was huge and i have tons of new products to try plus pf changs was giving samples - yummy!
  9. I only did a gluten trial for 2 weeks for bloodwork after a short gluten-free period. I am guessing if its celiac just a short gluten trial may give u the answers you need. I know its hard yo go back once you start feeling better.
  10. Well... i considered myself diagnosed after positive bloodwork but i finally got the endoscopy results. I have a follow up in 3 months with rechecks on vitamin levels. I realized after i left that the lab slip is not rechecking ttg and such. When is this typically rechecked?
  11. Chex cereal is cheap and you can easily make snack mix with it by throwing in some nuts, raisins or other dried fruit. I keep a bag of the frozen shredded potatoes in the freezer - store brands are very inexpensive and they are so versatile. Great breakfast with some scrambled eggs and cheese or veggies thrown in. More hearty if you make it with cut up...
  12. Here's my story... I pieced it together after symptoms over a number of years. Diagnosed IBS in my early 20s after suffering with tummy issues over a few months. The GI issues seemed to resolve mostly overtime and I equated it to a "nervous stomach." It seemed to flare up with high fat foods and during stressful periods. Shortly after my son was born...
  13. I get this right before my period starts... not sure why but I'll try magnesium next month if it reoccurs.
  14. I love Wegmans. That's my #1 store since getting diagnosed. Not only are many of their items store brand items gluten-free, their labeling system makes it so much easier that reading labels. I'm excited to try out their new pastas and sweet items.
  15. Before I was diagnosed stress always exacerbated my symptoms. It sure does sound like a delicious trip through Europe but it seems going back to gluten free is the way to go.
  16. I would think there are some kind of standards that the kitchen must abide to in order to serve children with allergies. Do they have a list of safe foods that can be provided to you to make sure your outside food fits in with the guidelines of what is allowed in the center (no peanuts, etc)?
  17. It sure looks refreshing! Just looking to get some reviews before I pick some up.
  18. I was so proud of my husband. Someone at work was telling him about dominoes gluten free and he told her that I wouldn't be able to eat it unless it was in a dedicated oven. Since I am new to this it showed me he takes it seriously and understands it can't be half-a$$! Anyway, I think I will stick with our locally owned Toppings Pizza as they have a dedicated...
  19. I did a 2 week challenge after a month gluten free and it was enough for a positive test.
  20. I'm signed up! It will be my first 5K since before my daughter was born (she's 8 1/2) now. So excited for the race and the vendor fair.
  21. Did the doctor run the celiac panel or just the allergy tests? I did my own gluten free trial and then had to do a challenge to undergo the testing. In hindsight, I wish I had asked for testing before starting gluten free. During my gluten challenge I got a small amount of hives a few times. I chalked it up to my body confused by the back and forth diet...
  22. Eek... I take lisinopril. I am going to watch for any updates you have.
  23. Well... I am no expert but those results look very positive. My ttg numbers were lower and the doc had no doubt it was celiac disease.
  24. I am 40 and recently diagnosed too! Must be a common age for diagnosis. I got terrible headaches and leg cramps during my recent cycle... Never had migraine type symptoms before. While the nausea which was my worst celiac symptom has improved dramatically I seem to be getting a bunch of other aches and pains. Ugh!
  25. New Planet Tread Lightly. I've tried that one and Redbridge. I prefer the New Planet a bit but it's more expensive (4pk - $8). The ciders are growing on me... granny smith Woodchuck - yum!
