  1. Me and my husband love salmon..cod...talapia etc. All we have close by is A&P grocery store and Shop Rite. Obviously we don't want breaded fish or anything like that. So we always end up having to go to the seafood counter and somehow relying on these people to change their gloves. No more after today. The guy wasn't going to change his gloves originally...
  2. p.s. I had to go gluten free anyhow because I was diagnosed possibly hypothyroid which might have been caused by gluten.
  3. In terms of myself i had a reaction at one point in august a few months in and a ton of mucus came out so i'm pretty sure i'm celiac. I also had elevated fat malabsorption etc. My husband never seemed to react to anything but planned on going gluten free too to make our lives easier anyhow. He has had less constipation and his malabsorption was 700....about...
  4. So there have been studies about non reactors too then where they did have damage? So what you're saying is that there are different levels of reactions....but then there is also the chance to be super sensitive and not feel it because you simply don't react? But your gut is? The issue for my husband is that if he's reacting to something but not feeling...
  5. In other words if super sensitives react to something shouldn't we all write it off as that means gluten is present and will damage the less sensitive people even though they don't react?
  6. I'm not sure if you misunderstood what I am saying. I'm simply saying...for all of us...should the less sensitive people be treating themselves as super sensitive even if their not considering the fact that even if you are not sensitive damage is being done to your gut anyhow? How do we know 10 ppm is okay for some if super sensitives react? Because if people...
  7. So if super sensitives react to even trace amounts of gluten....and there are people who don't have reactions at all....wouldn't that mean that even people who are not super sensitives are damaging their system even eating 10-20 ppm in food? Kinda confused. My husband wanted me to ask this after i read your answers to him.
  8. Hi...so...my husband hasn't tried to eat gluten or anything but he has yet to have any reaction to anything. I've found myself with at least one reaction even though I was more careful. I don't think I'm super sensitive ..at least not as of a while back because i was able to eat amy's products. But....it got us thinking..and it worries my husband...even if...
  9. Ok good thanks guys for the clarification. I saw a loooooong thread from about this time last year talking about it but no one really closed it up with any confirmation of it so I was very confused.
  10. So I just read a few pages of a long thread on this topic and i'm confused.....some say gluten may be in wax and that stores are suppose to disclose this but our stores here don't. Do I need to worry about the rutabaga i just bought to try? This is beyond crazy please someone tell me no I don't need to worry about it *siiiiigh*
  11. I really would like to know if i have an aspirin allergy i have to say because my husbands aunt who is also celiac said that means you can't even have motrin etc. It would be really nice to know if i actually have an allergy to that is there a test?
  12. So should I give up the potato for a week even though I seem fine with it? I tried sweet potato last night and intend to eat a bit every day to be sure for maybe 3 days then move on to turnip greens.
  13. I guess what I'm not clear on is...is the above poster suggesting stopping the fries for a week then bringing it back and seeing what happens? Because everything else i haven't been touching.
  14. Just wondering how do you tell you are healing properly? I ask because I've noticed more often than not now my bowel movements are more formed and not as loose as they use to be. Constipation doesn't happen as often either. Sometimes it might get slightly loose..but by slightly i mean (and sorry for this imagery lol) like a mound in the toilet but not watery...
  15. I'm not having illness issue now so i'm not sure how avoiding anything for a week is going to help i guess is what i'm saying..i've been avoiding the rest for months.
  16. The only nightshade i've been eating since august is potato in ore ida fries...sooo...I have avoided the rest. And I never eat eggplant. My onlly point being since the other things were spicey type foods isn't it possible it's not necessarily a nightshade issue but a spicey issue? I'm just throwing it out there as a possibility. I've had zero issues with...
  17. Wouldn't it also be possible my reaction could have simply been a product off too much spice? Peppers were in the bruschetta...we were having cilantro chutney all the time..that had peppers..then the paprika....perhaps a healing bowel just couldn't handle the spice and it wasn't tomatoes at all? I find ketchup to have a hell of a lot of zing too. Tart. But...
  18. Or hey maybe it's just pastes i don't like? I was fine until that..or maybe paprika just doesn't agree with me? Could just be peppers? I know my mother in law can't eat green peppers for whatever reason but if they are cooked she's good ...so many options...kinda scary to someday try and figure out what it could be exactly. How do you get tested for nightshade...
  19. Don't think there is egg in anything including the pizza crust. Just checked. It does have milk protein and YEAST tho. I did wonder about yeast in my bowel.
  20. Not sure on eggs actually. Not sure if there is egg in rice chex, or ore ida fries but i don't think so. I'll have to check. I've been having very few processed things and i generally don't eat eggs so i'll have to check that out.
  21. Oh yeah..was also eating amy's palak paneer which had tomato in it but was fine around that time...so not sure wha to think of that. I stopped eating it though because of dairy.
  22. Been eating potato almost every single day since that incident and that is a lot longer that what I was eating a ton of tomato for so i dunno? The tomato was maybe a few weeks to a month.
