ARCHIVED Calcium Fortified Rice Milk?
123glldd replied to 123glldd's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Sorry I've already read up tons on this. Soy is out for me. I'm not intolerant that i know of but it affects my thyroid. Leafy greens to me seems like it would be practically impossible to get it all from that...nuts i haven't re-introduced yet..i want to eat almonds and drink almond milk but they are high in salicylates and I'm not rishing into that. I don... -
ARCHIVED Calcium Fortified Rice Milk?
123glldd posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I am currently not sure if i react to coconut milk but that doesn't seem to have much in the way of calcium. I'm not positive if i have a salicylic acid reaction to things so i'm steering clear of almond a while longer.....i don't want to drink rice dream..not sure if that is calcium fortified anyhow. I'm trying to make sure i get a good intake of calcium... -

So...I haven't had tostitos scoops for 3 months now...simply because...well...i haven't had anything to use them with anyhow. I'm kinda scared to eat them again.....i was wondering how many of you have success with them and don't get sick? I'd like to eat them again..they say gluten free but it's not the simple gluten-free in a circle that i'm use to seeing... -
thanks but hmmm looking for more direct answer considering there are charts on websites to let you know. I know Okra and broccoli are high..i eat broccoli and it's not an issue...not trying tomatoes or peppers anytime soon...they are "very high".

Is Kale high in this? I was on a website for salicylic sensitivity (which i'm not positive i have ) and i was wondering if Kale is high in it but it wasn't listed?

ARCHIVED Vick's Vaporub
123glldd posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Anyone know if vicks is safe? I mean the vaporub not the lozenges etc. I have a bad cold right now..nervous to take anything for it but wanted to use vaporub for it. Or even if it wasn't safe for application because of possible contamination..do you think it's safe to sniff the jar? lol I don't THINK gluten carries in vapor? -
ARCHIVED Salicylic Acid-Tomatoes
123glldd replied to 123glldd's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I guess the problem with pizza is the cheese. Not sure if i have dairy intolerance or if it's just me healing right now. If I do a stool test for casein do i need to be eating and drinking it for anything to show up? -

i miss tomato so much omg -
On this page Open Original Shared Link it listed FRESH tomatoes as being moderate in salicylic acid. Right now I've only been eating foods no higher than moderate really for the most part....under VERY high ...it lists tomatoes....what exactly is the difference? By Fresh Tomatoes do they mean the produce section at the grocery store or what? Because it doesn...

I know that drywall and plaster can have gluten in it...does anyone else here worry about drilling into it for hanging stuff? What precautions should we take? How will we know where tiny bits of wall may fly? lol Maybe I'm being over paranoid? Thoughts? lol

This popped into my head for no reason whatsoever tonight...if you break a bone and need a cast....isn't that some kind of plaster? What would happen? -
ARCHIVED Cilantro High In Salicylic Acid?
123glldd replied to 123glldd's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I practically never take anything...definitely haven't since going gluten free. I usually took motrin before going gluten free..not sure what that one was but it never bothered me then..i'm more so worried stuff started bothering me since going gluten free as i seemed to have issue with certain things like paprika. Before that i was fine but since that even... -

Ok so since it was a rather small area and just a dusting of the wall plaster i put a bandanna with wax paper underneath it (between my mouth and nose and bandana) for a makeshift mask. wore vinyl powder free gloves and took duct tape and picked it up a bit at a time with that...that worked really well for the majority of it...then anything little left over... -

I'm not sure if i have a sensitivity to it..i've been avoiding it since being sick and i'm slowly re-introducing stuff but i was just curious to know how long to hold off. So maybe someday. -
I couldn't find info on this anywhere i looked does anyone know? =\ I love cilantro and my husband makes chutney all the time and I miss it so much..so i'm curious how much of it is in there...low medium or a lot?

ARCHIVED Candles, Scents, Incense Etc
123glldd replied to 123glldd's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you for your replies. no i'm not having any reactions but I was just curious as we have them. Don't seem to bother me. Was curious if these things would contain gluten though. -
Do I have to worry about anything like this around the house? scented candles, oils, incense? Incense sticks especially worry me but they turn to ash so...and our family loves Yankee candle. I don't seem to be allergic to the smells or anything I don't have issue with that i'm simply talking GLUTEN in these things. Thanks.

I was just looking this up in search to find out for myself about gluten and i know this is 4 years late but you are NOT suppose to roast anything over a duraflame. They tell you that.

ARCHIVED Is It Safe To Vacuum Up Gluten?

Naw what i'm saying is the little bit there i can probably get almost all of it with the damp paper towel and any miniscule stuff left could easily be vacuumed and practically unaffected by any damp towel. -

I thought that someone said in another thread i saw that a normal mask isn't good enough when sanding that stuff that you need something that filters? =\ Is there possibly any brand out there gluten free? I don't want to have to worry about it =\ then i also have to worry about clean up after.
