  1. My fiance just made me a delicious stir fry using Premier Japan's Ginger Tamari. Not sure if anyone else has used this but just wanted to let everyone know it was great. I bought it at my local Whole Foods. I couldn't find just a plain tamari by them. Has anyone used San-J's wheat free soy sauce; if so how was it?
  2. Wow thanks everyone!! Abby I can't believe you bought a box just to list the ingredients for me - that is beyond sweet : )

ARCHIVED Looking For Doc In Nyc

I actually just went to the nutritionist at Columbia. She was great and really helpful (and she lives in my area which was even more helpful). It was $150, but there didn't seem to be any time limit. I spent 2 hours with her and she certainly wasn't kicking me out. Even though I had done a ton of research and already knew a lot of what she told me; it was...
  4. Hey Laura, I know exactly the situation you are in. I am getting married in less than 3 months (although diagnosed recently and was so sad when I realized I wouldn't be able to eat most of the food that I had been dreaming about for months). Try speaking to your maitre d' about making the top layer of the cake a gluten-free cheesecake or something. That...
  5. Does anyone know if the powdered packet of cheese in Krafts boxed Mac n' Cheese is gluten-free? It would make such a quick and easy meal if I could just use that with my Tinkyada elbow pasta. I know I've read a lot of people use Velvetta but I really like the powdered cheese from the Kraft boxes.
  6. I've been gluten-free for almost a month now and I know everyone says that McCormick's seasonings (salt, pepper, garlic, etc) are safe but is it ok to just buy any basic salt, pepper or garilic or is McCormick the only brand I can use?
  7. I went there a couple weeks ago. The cupcake was great; just like a real cupcake.
  8. Thanks for posting this; I thought I was going crazy (lol). I was just eating Tostitos and Salsa (also Tostito brand) and I thought they were saltier but figured it was just me.
  9. Whooooo hoooo! Thanks so much : ) (It's sad that baked beans suddenly make me this happy) - lol!
  10. I'll definately still try Sambuca and I have a date with one of my friends/co-workers to go one day after work to Rissotteria. I'm going with a group of people to Florent for brunch this weekend and was thinking of suggesting Rissotteria but there was plenty of options at Florent (looked at the menu on menupages) so figured I'd save that to go with someone...
  11. Does anyone know if these are gluten-free?
  12. I would be so greatful if you would send me both lists. You can send it to: jilliank@gmail.com. Thanks so much!!
  13. I'm so bummed to hear that. Sambuca is one of my favorite restaurants (even went their for my birthday last year) and I was so excited to see they had a gluten-free menu. I guess I'll still try it but I was definately expecting it to be great. May go to Rissotteria for brunch on Sunday to try it for the 1st time!
  14. Thanks everyone. I can definately deal with 5 - 10 lbs. That's not the end of the world.
  15. It seems like everyone is maybe different but figured this was worth asking. I've always been naturally thin and eat whatever I want, whenever I want (About 5'6" 115 lbs.). I've been this weight forever and was only tested and diagnosed for celiacs because my 1st cousin was diagnosed and I've always had stomach problems so I went to get tested (in other...
  16. Hi all. I was recently diagnosed with celiacs through blood tests and biopsy. I'll admit I've been lurking on here for a few weeks since I started with all the tests and everyone seems very nice and helpful. I'll have tons of questions shortly (although I've done enormous amounts of research and am going to a nutritionist next week so I'm doing my best...
