I had heard Cheesecake Factories spinach dip is gluten-free but was wondering if anyone else was sure. I can't find the recipe anywhere online. I know Houston's spinach dip (my former favorite) has flour added. TIA.

ARCHIVED Gf Teriyaki Sauce
jkmunchkin replied to celiac3270's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Premiere Japan has a gluten-free Teriyaki Sauce. You can find it some places on line, or they sell it in Whole Foods. -
Our group assistant today had the most amazing gluten-free brownies deliverd to me today for my birthday (which is not till Sunday). It tasted exactly like a brownie you would make at home. It was by far the best birthday present I could have asked for. It was from a place called Everbody Eats Inc. Open Original Shared Link They have everything from...

The cupcakes at Happy Happy Happy are awesome, but I'll definately try this one to. Funny you should post this though, I was just thinking today about how much I miss Crumbs.

LOL. I just sent out my wedding invitations and made my fiance lick all the envelopes. Talk about having the best excuse ever why I couldn't do it!!

ARCHIVED Columbia Presbyterian Celiac Education Day 2005
jkmunchkin replied to celiac3270's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I really wanted to but unfortunately I can't make it. I have to meet with the rabbi for my wedding. I figure I'm really not religous but I've gotta assume cancelling plans to meet the man that is going to marry me would be slightly frowned upon -
ARCHIVED Who's In Their 20's?
jkmunchkin replied to GlutenFreeStudent's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Welcome! I'm 27 (will be 28 in just over a week). I just found out a couple months ago that I have celiacs, but have most likely had it for nearly 10 years. Atleast now I know why I was always sick. -
ARCHIVED I Have The World's Best Friend :)
jkmunchkin replied to skoki-mom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
My best friend had a gluten free birthday cake made for me. She works with a woman who makes all sorts of baked goods and she asked her to make me a gluten-free birthday cake. She is the most considerate and thoughtful person ever. -

Hi celiac3270. Would you mind sending to me also. jilliank@gmail.com Thanks so much. -
For those in NY metropolitan area I wanted to share that I had a great gluten-free meal at Cafe Baci in Wantagh, NY (Long Island). I'm actually from Westchester but was out on LI today and decided to go try it. I had gluten-free chicken parmigiana that came with gluten-free pasta and then a gluten-free cake for desert. Everything was wonderful. Oh and the...

ARCHIVED Roast Beef
jkmunchkin posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I'm trying to figure out if just regular roast beef (like what you would buy in the supermarket and prepare for dinner) is gluten-free? I feel like that is the one deli meat that rarely shows up on gluten-free lists so I wasn't sure if maybe that often has harmful ingredients injected. -
ARCHIVED Dr. Brown's Black Cherry Soda
jkmunchkin posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
The title of my topic basically sums it up. Just wondering if anyone happens to know off hand if Dr. Brown's Black Cherry Soda is gluten free before I start looking up every ingredient. I called the company but they didn't really seem to have any idea what I was talking about. -

I was shocked when I found out you were 14. Not sure what you're like in person but you definately come off as much older and more mature than that on here. -
ARCHIVED Family Troubles
jkmunchkin replied to PicturePerfect's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I'm not a teenager but I thought I'd throw my 2 cents in. I don't think you need to be so scared of eating out. I've been gluten-free for less than 2 months and I eat out in one form or another every day. Part of my job is being social and going out for lunches. The people I work the closest with are all aware of my situation so while they have started... -
ARCHIVED Enjoy Life Products?
jkmunchkin posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Has anyone tried any of the Enjoy Life products? I was thinking of trying some of the bagels (specifically the blueberry and onion ones) and maybe the cookies and granola cereal (to add to yogurt). I'd rather get some opinions before I waste more money on stuff that tastes like dirt. Thanks in advance. -
Did anyone else get a lot of unexplained bruises shortly after starting to eat gluten-free? I've always bruised easily and would occassionally have a random bruise here or there that I wouldn't know how I got; but in the last 2 weeks I have developed about 8 bruises on my legs, none of which I know how I got. Some are really big and purple, the type of...

I've had both dreams where everyone around me is eating foods I can't and I'm just standing there watching; and I've had the dreams where I'm eating "forbidden" foods again and I'm so happy. Either way I wake up depressed about the whole thing.

ARCHIVED Mister Softee
jkmunchkin replied to jkmunchkin's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I only asked about the ice cream but I'll give them another call on Monday and ask about the fro-yo; they were really nice when I called. Is it sad that Mr. Softee is one of my favorite ice creams (lol)!!! -
Can you post the recipe you used for the crust (or let me know where you got it). Thanks so much!!

ARCHIVED Mister Softee
jkmunchkin replied to jkmunchkin's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
LOL; yes Mister Softee are ice cream trucks in NYC (similar to a Good Humor truck), but they have them on practically every other block. They have some ice cream bars but their main thing is soft serve ice cream (like Carvel). It is soooo good!!! For any fellow NYC posters, I called this afternoon and yes it is gluten-free!! -
ARCHIVED Top Three Worst Gf Products
jkmunchkin replied to anerissara's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Am I the only moron that tried what Whole Foods considered bread. The praire bread is by far the most disgusting thing I've ever eaten in my life. And then ofcourse there was the Amy's frozen mac n' cheese. YUCK!! (however I agree the cheese enchiladas are pretty good). I've tried several bars and have yet to find one I like, but the Larabar by far... -

I'm not sure if this exists anywhere except NYC but does anyone know if Mister Softee (specifically chocolate) ice cream is gluten-free? -
ARCHIVED Buffalo Wings
jkmunchkin posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Completely random since I don't even eat them that much but last night I had this craving for buffalo wings. I was trying to think if they are breaded or just fried in oil and then have the sauce added. If the sauce is gluten-free would these be ok? -
I have been wanting to try this at a similar restaurant in White Plains, NY (Noda's). Great to hear. Thanks!

jkmunchkin replied to VegasCeliacBuckeye's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Very funny!! Hard to pick a favorite but I have to say if I have one more person say, "Oh so it's like being on Atkins." I swear I'm going to scream (either that or make them eat a piece of gluten-free bread)!!
