  5. Hi Supermaltese and Welcome to the Forum. First, Celiac Disease is an Auto Immune Disease. This is completely different from an Allergy. Second, Celiac Disease can present in two ways. Classic Celiac symptoms vary from person to person, there are over 300 symptoms, and a blood test and endoscopic biopsy is needed to diagnose it. Dermatitis...
  6. Gilligan, So glad you will have a complete recovery. I feel the same as Mamaw and Karen. Everything that affects our health may not be Celiac related. I have also seen people fall into this trap and see their health suffer. When Celiac is in remission, there are no symptoms unless a bit of gluten gets you. For the most part, Seasoned Celiacs don...
  7. What does your Doctor say? Have you discussed the results yet? Colleen
  8. do you know of anything in the outer coating (the rough parts) of grains like wheat that would be an irritant or allergen Wheat Grass? My opinion is that you should not eat it due to possible contamination. What other rough parts would you eat...I don't know of any. he has no trouble with regular bread products What regular bread products is eating...
  9. Have you considered that this has nothing to do with food or medications? You don't go 5 years fine and then hit a wall. We age and other things will continue to go wrong and we'll get sick. If you take food and Meds out of the equation and just look at your symptoms that suddenly started, you may come to a different idea about what might be wrong...
  10. Is this person Celiac. It sounds like he does not know what to avoid to be gluten-free. If he is a silent Celiac he may be starting to get reactions as it sounds like he had eaten gluten regularly and continuing to incur damage. If she has allergies to a food, that is complete different. If she is NCGI then I would question if a problem exists. At...
  11. A LOT of duct tape.
  12. Reminds me of how I would pop barbie's heads off and try to change it up. I think tape came into play. When do you see the Doc next Nicole? Colleen
  13. WOW!!!. Very exciting. Congratulations to her and to you for getting her there. Colleen
  14. I like every 2-3 months if levels seem to be in transition. At the end of March, my TSH and T4 were normal after rising a bit and two dose changes over 6 months. I had them drawn again 2 weeks ago, I had a feeling, and my TSH fell to 0.06 and T4 up to 2.0 so went Hyper after 35 years of Hypo. The gland started swelling also so I had clues something was...
  15. Oh gosh, Beth. I hear ya! I saw this article the other day and it was about the first Head Transplant to be attempted in around 2 years from now. A man has volunteered to do it. He has a destructive disease that is destroying his body. Guys got some guts! At any rate, Options like that start to look attractive as more stuff happens to us....lol. ...
  16. I'm with Squirmy.....nose around a bit, give them the 3rd degree, then hopefully EAT!
  17. I hope you get some good options at the Doc appointment. Sometimes I wish there was a Parts Department for Humans. Just fill out a requisition and pop in a new knee or what have you. Colleen
  18. Good to hear Beth. Every little victory feels great Colleen
  19. Turn on some music. And remember, It's cocktail hour somewhere .
  20. Hi, Stubble. No one can speculate at this point and it would be irresponsible to try. Try to stay off of Doctor Google. Try and distract yourself until your Appointment. Not knowing things is very hard, I know. Just try and calm down. The more you stress your body with this fear and stress the more your body has to work to stay healthy. Hang Tight...
  21. The information about products is called a "Material Safty Data Sheet" MSDS. The Construction company, by law, must have these up to date and available at all times. Colleen
  22. DJ. With the food you said you reacted too, it was all very spicy. Have you considered taking it easy on the peppers and such? Also, have you been tested for Celiac or have you just settled on intolerance? If you actually have celiac you are doing yourself no favors in eating the food that you mentioned.
  23. It sure is possible. The slicers are a concern for cheese cold cuts and the Meat products in the Meat case can cause cc. If they put stuffed pork chops in the case with a sirloin steak, you don't know if a crumble of the stuffing got onto the steak. I only buy packaged cheese and most meat from the butcher near us but eat packaged meat from the store....
  24. I would first inquire with the Construction Co. if gluten dust? is even an issue. If it is, then maybe you can get a mask to wear. Good Luck Colleen
