ARCHIVED Chex Clusters
GF Lover replied to gardengirl77's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
The Whole Grain Oats in the ingredients does'nt say gluten free although as you stated the box says gluten free. This is confusing to me. I thought they could say "Certified" oats on the packaging? All of the Chex Oat products contain whole grain oats. All of the Chex Cereals except wheat and I think 1 oat are all made with corn. It's interesting... -

ARCHIVED Think I Got Glutened? & Cortisol
GF Lover replied to dania's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It concerns me that you just now got a new colander. Have you gone through your whole kitchen? Toaster, cutting boards, plastic containers, wooden spoons, pans with the teflon coming off all have to go. New condiments (if shared use separate condiments). Suppliments can be iffy by nature, they are not regulated. Have you read the Newbie Thread? ... -
ARCHIVED Symptoms Returning - Oats?
GF Lover replied to mbledtke's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Yup, cut the oat bran. -
With as much of Kefir as your eating/drinking you may have a yeast infection. The gut also needs bad bacteria as well as good. You might be unbalanced. I would get checked for candida. You could cut back on Kefir ( alot ) and see what happens or take out the fructose or the dairy. Only cut 1 thing at a time so you know if that particular thing is...

ARCHIVED Chex Clusters
GF Lover replied to gardengirl77's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi Garden Girl, welcome to the Forum. The first thing I would mention is if you are a Celiac I would stay away because they are not Certified Whole Grain Oats. If you are NCGI it would be your call. Hopefully someone will come around and give a review. Colleen -

ARCHIVED Buspar Anxiety Medication
GF Lover replied to celiwhat's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I always like to read the MSDS for medications. It does say it has lactose in it. I don't know if there is a generic for it or what formulas they may use. Open Original Shared Link Colleen -
Spices generally. You don't want hot sauces or things like chili power. Things that are more difficult to digest and that may irritate the gut. It sounds like you are off to a great start . Those with the best attitudes have a much easier time transitioning to this new life. It's very important for you not stress out your body and/or mind. Stress...

Just want to add a few thoughts. Healing takes time, alot of time, more time than you would think. I'm talking possibly years before all pre-celiac symptoms resolve if they all do. Many find that there is permanent damage from the Autoimmune system attacking and can include all parts of the body. You should try and review your progress at monthly intervals...

ARCHIVED Solved Food Intolerance By Treating Parasitic Infection?
GF Lover replied to DJTonkovich's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Are you seeing an actual Medical Doctor for the "pin worm infestation"? Are you diagnosed Celiac? There is no valid testing for 'gluten intolerance'. It's not like testing for allergies. Celiac and NCGI are diagnosed by a Medical Doctor. I am just wondering if you would be better served seeing a Medical Doctor? instead of alternative practicioners... -
Remember, Celiac is not an allergy. It's an Autoimmune Disease. Good luck to you.

ARCHIVED Mixed Kitchen (Oxymoron, I Know!)
GF Lover replied to MsMarginalized's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Same here. Take the appropriate precautions but you don't have to segregate plates, flatware, glasses...etc. -
This is interesting. I've often wondered why i have so many AI problems. Years and years ago I took immunosuppressants to try and manage them. Being diagnosed Celiac brought relief to many symptoms but the other AI problems eventually ramped right back up again. It's like I never went gluten free. My immune system insists on attacking even though one...

ARCHIVED New Here: Tiny Home, Husband Eats Gluten, Etc.
GF Lover replied to StainedGlassWindows's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I don't believe our significant other should have to go gluten free also. The Gluten Free diet is a medical diet, not a choice. It is completely doable to have both gluten free food and gluten filled food in the same kitchen. By taking all the necessary precautions, it is easily accomplished. For example, in my kitchen I use separate silicon hot pads... -
ARCHIVED Generic Omeprazple
GF Lover replied to Goof's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Yea. That's what it looked like when I checked out this Dr. Reddy. It was news to me. I'm finding that a bunch of meds are going OTC and I think sometimes people may be unaware that these are different strenghts and formulas. It all makes for more confusion to me -
Unapproved Prescription Ear Drop (Otic) Products: Not FDA Evaluated for Safety, Effectiveness and Quality AUDIENCE: Family Practice, Consumer, Pediatrics ISSUE: FDA announced its intention to take enforcement action against companies that manufacture and/or distribute certain unapproved prescription ear drop products (known as otic products) labeled to...

ARCHIVED Generic Omeprazple
GF Lover replied to Goof's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Generic omeprazole is only available by prescription. Dr. Reddy's omeprazole is an OTC product therefore formulated differently. We don't want to mis-represent what product is actually being discussed in the thread. Colleen -

Just a tip for you. Always check suppliments for interactions with SSRI's and Benzo's. Also, there is growing concerns over suppliments being not pure. Colleen- 3 replies

ARCHIVED Help, Please! I Don't Know How To Eat Out Or If I Can?
GF Lover replied to shiffy k's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Hi Shiffy. Having the menu's before hand is great. You can decide what you want before you get there. BUT, you still MUST talk to the Chef or Kitchen Manager. I usually go to the kitchen after we are seated, Going to the kitchen yourself also shows how serious this is for you and will cut out distractions for you and the Chef. Things you need to ask... -
Hi Scorpio. I do agree that it may just take more time. I had some issues that took two years to resolve. It also sounds allergy or immune related. Have you searched for this issue connected to Autoimmune Diseases? AI Diseases like to have friends. Have you considered Histamines? I second the notion of cutting out all Sodium Laural Sulfates. Could...

Hi JD. Two thoughts for you. Stress can definitely make you sick.
