  1. Personally, I think Celiac is a serious Disease and awareness will not improve with a hashtag that anyone can post too. Awareness develops as Researchers, Doctors and those in the Celiac Community spread knowledge and facts. I also don't think this is the proper place to drum up traffic. These are my personal opinions. Colleen
  2. Hi Nora CONGRATULATIONS . 1 year is a biggie. Many, many people get dairy back. Once the villi heal is when it happens, assuming you were not lactose intolerant before. Add back one dairy item at a time and see how you do. Good Luck, Colleen
  3. I also think you should get tested. There may also be something else going on too.

Hi and Welcome To The Forum. Unfortunately, Blood Tests and Endoscopic Biopsies are how they diagnose Celiac. A gene test and symptoms can corroborate the results. Both require a gluten challenge. You can always decide not to have any tests and start a strict Gluten Free diet. Colleen
  5. Hi Missy and Welcome to the Forum First, let me say, so sorry for what you're dealing with. The Doctors you have seen gave you typical responses that most of us get trying to get diagnosed, it's very frustrating. I want you to read the link below. Print out relevant pages and present them to your Doctor. Open Original Shared Link. Celiac...
  6. Christiana, I agree whole heartedly about not taking Lyrica, you just don't need it. It's become the latest pacifier for patients complaints about anything. Getting your iron and nutritional levels is always a good idea. Don't forget to throw in some exercise. I get the twitching eye thing too and don't give it too much thought. I try not to sweat the...
  7. I read up on the Trigeminal Nerve structures. How do you know that it's that Nerve causing the trouble? I ask this in all sincerity. I know from experience that damaged and/or severed nerves continue to regenerate. I still have times when the nerves at my groin going down my leg start their tingling and sometimes little pin pricks. It's still healing...
  8. That is a "Headline Grabber" and it's all done to get you scared and buy their products to "save your life". It's very irresponsible. The Gluten Free Diet puts Celiac in Remission once the gut is healed. You do not continue to damage the body for your whole life. That's not to say that you'll never get any diseases or conditions through your life. 7...
  9. How long do your typical gluten symptoms last? It should be about the same for this one. I don't get the severe gut pain now after gluten, it's much more bearable. I believe it's because the villi (damage) has healed, but I still get many other symptoms including neural. Any AI flare, for me, now lasts around two months only because 1 AI sets off my others...
  10. These are the inactive ingredients in Fluoxetine (Generic Prozac). Looks OK to me. CROSPOVIDONE HYPROMELLOSES MAGNESIUM STEARATE STARCH, CORN CELLULOSE, MICROCRYSTALLINE POLYETHYLENE GLYCOLS SILICON DIOXIDE TITANIUM DIOXIDE Open Original Shared Link Colleen
  11. Will make sure Admin see's the error type. Thank's for including that.
  12. At your age, you don't need any supplements if you have a healthy diet. Only supplement if Physician run blood tests show a deficiency. Colleen
  13. For some of us it can be a 2-3 week or 2-3-month issue. that starts an autoimmune cascade. For those with additional autoimmune diseases, it can cause some or all of them to flair. Colleen
  14. I see the same thing with my husband and I. I will get sick first and most severe and the longest. He gets it much less severely and only for a couple days. I also have a compromised immune system. I rarely get a fever over 99, but I do feel like it's worse and I'm always surprised it's not 104...lol. I also feel like I am getting sick or getting over...
  15. Hi Tigercat. Have you considered it is not a food or medication issue at all? Have you had your thyroid blood test done recently to see if it's the thyroid and not the medication? Have you told your Doctor about your symptoms without putting a Celiac slant on it? Look at the symptoms as a whole and take Celiac out of the question. You may be ill with...
  16. lol...yes, maybe Colleen
  17. It should be safe as far as gluten is concerned. I didn't see anything to indicate otherwise. I also noticed that it can cause a laxative effect. That could account for the stomach ache. Just so you know. A lot of the reported "good" effects of flaxseed oil are not proven. Be safe. Colleen
  18. This is disconcerting. I had stopped my probiotics a couple weeks ago when I got a new brand to switch is up. They seemed to disagree with me as had the one I replaced. I think I'll take a break from them and see what happens (if anything) from this Research Study. My Autoimmune system has been in overdrive since January. This may be the cause or might...
  19. Average is 10 days for biopsies. Hang tight Colleen
  20. Time to change your Member Name Glad your feeling better.
  21. Have you considered having your thyroid function checked?
  22. I knew you would see it here. Hopefully, Iceland Girl sees it too.
  23. Here is an easy to read article that explains things better than I. It's good for all of us to keep in mind. New (a year or so) Celiacs can obsess about all kinds of things that really mean nothing due to Celiac. Some people start cutting back foods they eat drastically thinking it is Celiac related when it's not. The best advice I can give any Celiac...
  24. I agree with Barty. Once you get it you are prone to more episodes. Try not to let yourself get run down and stressed out as that can lower your immune system and bring on another episode. Colleen
  25. The OP referred to in the above post is from this thread: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/111581-brain-damage/ Colleen
